CONGRATULATIONS roban05! Yes! It's DeeDee and Nick!

?-?

"Dear Lord, we thank you for this food, for these friends, for our health, safety, and the pilgrims that founded this country. Now, let's eat!" Bob exclaimed, cutting his prayer short due to the fact that he was sniffing all the tasty foods.

Carla glared at him, but said nothing as she passed the potatoes.

"So Howie, I heard you're making a movie!" Lucy exclaimed as she took some green beans.

Howie happily nodded. "Yeah, I leave this Saturday. I still can't believe I won!"

"What's the story about?" She asked.

"Now that, I can't say. They made me sign a mountain of paperwork." He replied.

"It is really good. Jack and I read it before he sent it." Sue added.

Lucy pouted. "You let them know what the story was about, and not me?"

"Hey, you don't live here! I couldn't!" He defensively replied.

Lucy slightly smiled. "I'm only playing with you."

"Oh. I knew that!" He said, obvious that he was covering up that he was clueless. Everyone chuckled, knowing otherwise.

"Hey! No one's eating my casserole!" Carla complained, seeing only a small dent in the platter.

"It's, uh, interesting." Jack replied, only taking some to be nice.

"It tastes like cardboard." Nick said, spitting it out, back on his plate.

"That's not nice!" Lucy scolded.

"But Mom, it does taste like cardboard!" DeeDee complained.

Lucy gave her children scolding glares. "Apologize."

Each child muttered their apologies to Carla.

"Let me taste this." Carla replied, scooping some of the casserole onto her plate and taking a forkful herself. Once the forkful was in her mouth, she started laughing.

Sue frowned, seeing her Mom laugh, but not seeing the reason. She turned to Jack. "LAUGH WHY?"

Jack shook his head. "DON'T KNOW." He replied.

Carla nodded, still laughing with food in her mouth. "They're right!" She exclaimed, still laughing. "It does taste like cardboard! I followed the recipe exactly!"

"Then it is a really bad recipe." Bob quietly said, laughing.

"Yes! And it sounded so good!" She replied.

"Well, Sunny, it looks like you're getting some exquisite meals in the upcoming days!" Jack said, leaning down towards her. Sunny happily woofed her response.

?-?

"That was wonderful, thank you for inviting us!" Lucy said as she put on her coat about two hours later, after dinner and desert were over.

"I wish you didn't have to go so soon." Sue sadly replied.

"ME TOO." She signed. "We just have to get to our kids to bed before they become so tired, they start jumping off the walls, and never get them to bed!"

Sue nodded, understanding. "Well, I hope I see you soon!" She said, hugging her friend.

"We always have texting!" She replied when they let go.

Sue nodded. "Yeah, it's not the same, though.

"KNOW."

"But it's better than nothing!"

"Yes! Well, see you later!" Lucy said, as she, DeeDee, Nick, and Mark left.

"We should go, too. Our tree's getting delivered early in the morning, so we want to make sure we're awake for it." Mya said and signed as she and Maddy got their coats on as well.

"UNDERSTAND." Sue replied.

"I should go as well. Myles said, walking up to Sue. "My tree is being delivered in the morning after theirs, then I have to get to work. Thank you for the lovely Thanksgiving."

Sue smiled. "You're welcome. We are glad you decided to stay here and celebrate with us."

He nodded. "I have to admit, you all are more like family than my real family, and this coronavirus situation has been the perfect reason to stay here."

"You have to go home some time." She replied.

He pursed his lips and cocked his head side to side. "Not really."

"Maybe they don't show it, but I'm sure they miss you."

He scoffed. "It would be a cold day in hell when they would say they actually miss me, let alone, tell me anything of the sort."

"Don't say that!" Sue scolded.

Myles slightly smiled at her. "See you later, Thomas." With that, he left.

Slowly, everyone decided to go home as well. Soon, it was Sue, Jack, Howie, Carla and Bob. Howie decided to go upstairs, and Carla and Bob were washing dishes and putting away food in the kitchen. Sue and Jack were alone in the living room.

"Well, that was nice." She said, sitting down on the couch next to Jack.

He nodded. Yes, it was. But this is nicer." He replied, smiling.

She smiled back. "I think you're right." She said, leaning her head on his shoulder.

Jack put his arm around her. "Yes, it is." He whispered to himself.
