NOTE: I do not have proof, but since she's a skater, I'm assuming Sue would be a good dancer. It's basically skating without skates. Actually, probably easier.
TRIVIA: Why is Tara such a bad choice?
BONUS: A Deaf person was on Dancing With The Stars (actually 2. I'll give a chapter for each!). Who was it?
?-?
"What's the case?" Mya asked, curious.
"Last week, Twinkle Toes Dance Studio got a bomb threat. The owner, Francesca Martinico, thought it was just a disgruntled Mother, and dismissed it. This morning, she received a death threat, and when an attempt on her life happened an hour later, she decided to take it seriously. That's when she called us." Jack said, reading off of the email he had just received.
"What happened?" Sarah asked.
"Someone tried to run her over as she was walking to her car in the parking lot last night. Thankfully, she got out of the way just in time." He replied.
"Did she get a plate?" Myles asked.
Jack shook his head. "It was dark. All she could say was it was a dark car. The headlights were off, and she couldn't get a clear outline. Besides, she was running for her life, right? Anyways, we are going undercover, to make sure this doesn't happen again, making sure we, or SOG are watching her at all times."
"So what are we supposed to do? Tout around the studio in tutus?" Bobby asked. Everyone burst out laughing.
"As much as I would pay to see that, no." Jack replied, in between laughs, a slightly frightening picture popping up in his mind. "We're going to let the experts to this task. Mya, since you mentioned you tap, would you do the honors and go undercover to watch out for Francesca?"
"I will, if I have help. What about Tara?" My replied.
"I don't think you want Tara." Bobby said, chuckling.
"Why?" She replied, frowning.
"Ask her yourself."
"I think I will!" She said, picking up her phone.
?-?
"Ooh, no, no, no, no, no!" Tara worriedly exclaimed, seeing the text.
"What's wrong?" Sue asked, seeing what she said.
"They got a case at a dance studio, and Mya is asking me to go undercover with her. You know me and ballet!"
Sue smiled, thinking of the story Tara had told her prior. "I can do it."
Tara frowned. "You? But you're," She trailed off.
"In between skating seasons, my Mom forced me to take ballet to keep my skills up, so I know a thing or two!"
Tara looked at her in awe. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go help them out!"
?-?
"Did someone call some dancers?" Sue asked, walking into the bullpen, twirling for effectiveness.
Jack frowned, unsure why she was in the office.
"What are you doing here?" Mya said and signed.
"Yeah, we didn't call you." Jack replied.
"You asked for a dancing undercover partner." Sue replied.
"I asked for Tara, not you." Mya replied slowly, still confused.
"You don't want Tara, believe me."
"Well, how, how will you be helpful?" Mya asked.
"Oh, I have to audition?" Sue asked, then did a little dance number in the middle of the bullpen. Everyone chuckled, watching her. Once her number was finished, she looked at the laughing, masked faces. "What? No good?"
"NO. PERFECT." Jack replied. "Where'd you learn to dance like that?"
Sue shrugged. "I had to take dance lessons to keep up with my skating."
Mya waved for her attention. "Well, you're hired."
Sue smiled through her mask. "PERFECT!"
"How about we go and check out the dancing scene this afternoon?" She suggested.
"Great idea! I just need to get a few things. I pretty much outgrew all my old dancing equipment." Sue replied, excited.
"Yeah, and I need to go get my old tap shoes, and hope they fit. Met you at the studio in 2 hours?" Mya asked, signing to confirm she understood.
"Sounds good! See you later!" She said, then the two women left.
?-?
Sue and Mya looked around the studio as they walked in a couple hours later. "NICE." Mya signed.
"Can I help you?" A woman sitting at the front desk asked.
"Yes, my friend and I just moved here, and are looking for a new dance studio to call home. We were told Miss Francesca's the only way to go." Mya said, since the woman was masked, and Sue couldn't understand.
The woman smiled behind her mask. "That was so nice for someone to say that!"
Mya nodded and smiled behind her mask. "Is there any way for us to meet Miss Francesca?"
The woman's smile faded. "Oh, I'm sorry, she's awfully busy."
"Well, I'm not busy on my lunch break, of which I was just about to go on. Talk in my office?" Francesca said, coming into the reception room.
Mya smiled and nodded, then motioned for Sue to follow her.
Once the three women were inside and Francesca closed the door, she sat down at her desk. "Are you the FBI agents they said they'd be sending?" She asked.
Mya nodded. "Yes, ma'am."
"Badges, if you don't mind. I just want to make sure." Francesca replied.
"No problem, totally get it." Mya said, perusing through her purse. Once she found it, she waved it at Sue to take hers out as well.
Francesca nodded, handing them back their IDs. "And you two are going to protect me until you figure out who is threatening me?"
Mya nodded. "Yes. We both have dance experience, and Sue here it Deaf and reads lips, if anyone takes their mask off."
"Reads li- you can't understand anything I say, can you." Francesca said directly to Sue, a sad expression on her face.
Sue looked to Mya, who interpreted. "SHE SAY YOU LIPREAD, DON'T UNDERSTAND MASK SPEAKING."
Sue nodded, now knowing what she had said, turning to Francesca. "Yes, that's why right now, it's extremely hard. But the clear masks like we're wearing is very helpful!"
Francesca nodded, slightly smiling, but then frowned. "Wait, if you're deaf, how can you be a dancer?"
Mya interpreted, then Sue looked back at Francesca. "I grew up in competitive figure skating. I also sing and play the piano, if you would like a demonstration."
Francesca looked at her in awe, then lightly shook her head. "Let's get you two signed up for a class, and schedule your practice times. Then I want to see you audition, OK?"
Mya interpreted, then the two women nodded their heads.
"Cas, can you help us sign these two women up for classes, and help schedule their practice times? Then send them back to Studio D." Francesca said to the receptionist as the three of them left their office and walked back to the front.
"Yes ma'am." Cas said.
Francesca smiled through her mask at the two women as she continued walking to where the studios were.
"What classes are you interested in signing up for?" Cas asked.
Mya smiled through her mask. "Tap for me, ballet for Sue."
Cas nodded, typing a few things into her computer. "We have an adult tap class on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10AM, which would place your practice time to be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4PM. Our only open adult ballet class is Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 AM, with practice Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 2 PM. Weekend practice are optional for both classes. Do those work?"
Mya nodded and smiled, interpreting what she was saying. "That sounds great! Can we come in to warm up tomorrow? With the move and all, we haven't had a chance to practice in a long while."
"Of course! It's open to everyone who is signed up. All you do is check in here, and check out when you're done." Cas replied.
"Perfect! Thank you!" Mya said, then the two women went to look for Studio D.
"DANCE FUN WILL!" Mya excitedly signed.
Sue nodded, smiling through her mask. "WILL!"
