Author's note: I wish you all Happy Holydays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. This is the Christmas special and the prequel story for the story Dylan the Vampire II, where during the holydays Dolly, Dawkins, DJ, Deepak, Da Vinci and Dante meet Liana with Professor Van Hound. Hope all of you will enjoy.
It was a very cold winter evening, during that time many people have already finished prepare for the next 2 days where everyone was suppose to stay at home and enjoy the company of family and friends. Because the next day was Christmas Eve and then Christmas where Santa Claus will get everyone the gifts he or she wanted if they were good. In that evening in the Park the Dalmatians were having some fun before having to return home, for the moment all of them were playing joyfully in the snow enjoying their time while Dylan and Dolly were watching them. The park wasn't empty since there were some people and animals who were walking and enjoying their time.
"We aren't supposed to swim in cold water." Dylan called to a group before going to another pup who wanted to ease himself "Not at the electric poll it's too dangerous."
"Bow-waka-wow!" Dolly called coming to them on her skateboard converted into a snowball for winter and snow days.
"Hey try to chill up Dylan and enjoy the snow bro."
"I would enjoy when I can plus I don't need to wake up sick." Dylan commented, although in truth a simple cold wasn't as bad compared to what he had in October.
"You should still try to enjoy the snow besides in this period of the year you don't know when it is day and when the evening comes and you know what come out." Dolly said with a smirk.
"Indeed no one can deny this." A voice came and turning around they noticed none other than their friend and famed vampire hunter dog, with a soft smile on his face.
"Professor Van Hound we didn't expected you here." Dylan said happy to see him
"Seward and I are enjoying the Holydays with our friends, family and our owner Han like everyone should do in this time of the year." Said the German Sheppard.
"Where is Doctor Seward?"
"Near our owner right there." He said pointing to a bench having a leash on him and staying in the lap of a white slender man with oval face, blue eyes and black hair talking to someone near him whom Dylan knew personally wearing a dark winter coat.
"Hey that's Doctor Maria Veins one of the friends of countess Karasi." Dylan exclaimed.
"A hunter and a vampire talking with one another now I believe I saw everything." Dolly commented and this meant something else.
"Hey that should also mean another one is here."
"Correct you are." Said a female voice from behind them and it was none other than Liana, the female vampire Dalmatian that was also partner with the professor and doctor who appeared out from the mist. Dolly of course knew about her from Dylan, he told her about every good vampire that helped him get cured and also about Liana and Tiberius whom he met at the Halloween party and occasionally talked with them.
"I was wondering when we will meet at last." Dolly said with excitement.
"Better late than never." Liana said with a smile.
"I should try to paint this landscape when we get home." Da Vinci said admiring the landscape she wants as Christmas present.
"I will try to find Christmas songs in this case for tomorrow and for Christmas day. I really can't wait to get my present." DJ said excited his wish would be a new boom box.
"My only desire will be a time of peace for my meditation." Deepak said getting into meditation position.
"Enjoy it while we can because who knows how much it will last." Dante said.
"Well at least this time is a real time to enjoy oneself." Dawkins said before looking at the clock it indicated that it was 6:30 in the evening soon it was time to go.
"Where are Dylan and Dolly? It's almost time to go home."
"Over there." Delgado said pointing in the direction where they were talking with Professor Van Hound and another female Dalmatian that seemed close to the age of their parents.
"I know that the German Sheppard is professor Van Hound, but who is the other Dalmatian." Da Vinci said.
"She isn't related to us." Delgado said.
"Let's go find out who she is." DJ said and all went to their brother and sister to meet them.
"I believe she will shock us." Dante said following them.
"Boy it passed some time and I still can't believe that vampires are real and you are friends with her." Dolly said.
"Well the world is full of surprises and I guess we can all agree upon that." Liana said.
"Indeed. Still sometimes it is very. How should I put this, weird, sometimes." Van Hound said.
"Maybe, but I really do like weird stuff." Liana said caressing him, however he was still trying to keep a stoic expression.
"By the way you should visit sometimes." She said with a smirk on her face.
"I will…one day." Said the male dog, with a bit of annoyance right when the other pups arrived.
"Dylan, we will soon have to return home it's nearly 6 in the evening." Dawkins said before Dylan looked at the clock.
"Ohh yeah we will go soon."
"By the way who the lady you are talking to right now." DJ asked.
"Oh yeah, everyone this is Liana." Dylan said pointing to the female Dalmatian "She is an associate of Professor Van Hound, always helping him and doctor Seward."
"Hello little ones, a pleasure to meet you all." Liana said with a smile before Dawkins noticed her canines which made the genius puppy to back a bit, still remembering the time when one tried to end his life while the others were unaware of that.
"Hello Mrs. Liana." Deepak said with a smile extending his paw to her and she gladly took it.
"It's really nice to meet you all."
"Ohh and Dylan did told us of the good vampires didn't he?" Dolly said.
"We know about them and yet why asking this?" DJ asked.
"Because you just met one." Said the professor pointing at the elder female Dalmatian and immediately all 5 felt a chill on their backs when they turned to her after realizing this making faces of disbelief and fear.
"Don't worry I don't bite. In fact" Liana started before placing a finger on Deepak, Delgado and DJ's backs and somehow they felt a great sense of calm overcoming them which the zen pup really enjoyed. "I like puppies and I use this method to calm them down during check up at the clinic."
"This is really out of ordinary." Delgado commented never been this calm in his life before.
"Indeed." Deepak said before Liana removed her fingers from each of them returning to normal.
"It still looks like it is a scene from Castelvania." Da Vinci said a bit fearful while Dawkins preferred to remain silent.
"By the way are the events from Castelvania…." Dante asked full of expectation.
"Pure fiction, nothing is true from that series or video games, everything is fake." Liana said disappointing the goth pup.
"I still believe each one of you are still trying to come to terms with this knowledge you now posses regarding the supernatural." Liana asked.
"Yes, we still do." Dawkins said with a shy voice, it passed some time from 'that' event but it was still unpleasant when they think about what happened to Dylan, but try not to talk about it.
"We do admit that it is still a bit strange but despite that at least we know that not all creatures of the night are bad." DJ said with a stressed smile sweating a bit.
"You will get used to me soon as thought dog over here did." Liana said with a smirk pointing to an annoyed professor who only cleared his throat.
"a-a-ahem by the way Dylan, did everything went well since you got cured?" He asked.
"Yeah nothing much happened and yet is there a possibility for any side effects?" Dylan asked.
"I still have to research that in order to give you an answer. In any case me and Seward thanks to Liana managed to cure other 2 animals from vampirism that were turned against their will, thanks to the medallion."
"Those are wonderful news." Da Vinci said before turning to Liana.
"By the way Liana I wish to ask, would you ever want to be cured?" Dylan asked.
"If you want an answer I have to say that it is negative. Tiberius and I don't have a reason to, since this state brought us in loving families like the one you have. You see we were once stray animals found by Doctor Veins who take care of us. I was the first one who was turned before Tiberius who later was adopted by countess Karasi. By all accounts we don't have a reason to be cured. Besides if one accepts to become one there wouldn't be a trouble for a dark side to develop, not to mention that one has to accept this in order for this state to not be seen as a curse." Liana explained.
"It is true if one accepts this willingly there wouldn't be a trouble of developing a dark side, and it wouldn't be a danger of turning to evil however this is 50-50 chance, especially that the curse of immortality itself is a problem because they always see their mortal loved ones passing which would lead to depression and then madness. Of course from what we know the vampires prefer to keep themselves in low numbers because it could lead to quite many risks. Not to mention the fact that the majority of vampires started to no more turn to evil only recently, the majority started to do this only for around 420 years. The ones that turn to evil are usually declared old style, evil and so on." Van Hound explained.
"And Malek was between the old style ones?" Dolly asked.
"Actually between the crazy ones who fantasize on things that aren't achievable like world domination in different ways or do nasty experiments on animals." Liana explained.
"Good point to the later one." Dylan said thinking with dread of what happened.
"Dylan we all know that it wasn't you who wanted it. It was never your intention." Van Hound said with a smile.
"Remember only one thing you have family and friends and this is a treasure much greater then gold. Keeping them safe and loving them, will always be the thing that will defy you, despite having a dark side." Liana said with an encouraging smile and Dylan returned the gesture.
"She is right Dylan what your dark side did doesn't characterize who you are, besides you alongside Dolly destroyed Malek using your vampire powers." Delgado said.
"Who else would do that if not you or Dolly." DJ said with an encouraging smile to him.
"Thanks for the encouragement, it really means a lot." Dylan said while Dolly placed her right paw around him to pull him in a hug.
"Who else then us." Dolly said with a smile.
"Indeed." Van Hound said with a smiling chuckle. "By the way I believe that your parents don't know about that event yet isn't it?"
"No unfortunately, I still need to struggle on how and when the best moment to tell them what is happened." Dylan said.
"That moment will arrive in due time Dylan, in due time." Liana said before feeling a calling from her owner in her mind.
"I will have to go for now, Maria had called me but even with that I hope we will see each other very soon till then." She snapped her fingers for a low layer of snow to fall on all of them.
"Mary Christmas and Happy new year to everyone." She said before disappearing from their sight in a layer of white mist appearing at the feet of her owner.
"She sure has many surprises." Da Vinci commented.
"I knew she would shock us." Dante said with a happy face, every time this comes he will always feel in his element.
"She sure did, by the way, it was great meeting you all again." The professor said.
"Feeling is the same professor." Dawkins said with a smile.
"Wonder how it is a vampire style Christmas or a hunter style Christmas." Dolly said.
"It's not different from the normal Christmas at all, it is the same in the case of hunters. As for the creatures of the night mostly or probably only the elder ones decorate in more Goth style." Van Hound explained.
"This is what I will do in my part of the room." Dante said already savoring already his own Christmas scene.
"Dylan if he has some strange ideas, do everything to get him out from this state or call Seward." The German-Sheppard dog said.
"No we will let him have his strange moments since those are for the moment he likes after discovering the supernatural." Dylan said.
"Try not to let him fantasize something too out of ordinary still. If you know what I mean." He said.
"Don't worry, there is no way you will allow that." Dylan said before the noticing his owner readying himself to leave.
"I shall leave for now I really do hope we will meet again." The professor said.
"Sure thing, we will have to gather the others as well and return home anyways."
"By the way professor, Merry Christmas." Dolly said.
"Merry Christmas to all of you too, and happy New Year." He said with a smile before going in the direction where his owner was while the group of Dalmatians went in the opposite direction
"By all accounts I have to say that I am glad that not all vampires are bad." Da Vinci commented.
"Liana is an example of that." DJ said.
"In any case that feeling of calm really was something I enjoy." Deepak said.
"Well if she uses this to calm down the patients it is no wonder she using this…'special ability'." Dawkins said not wanting to use the word supernatural.
"You know you were a bit shy when you met her now." Dolly said in a teasing way.
"Been careful doesn't mean shy, especially when one have to see what one's intentions are first." Dawkins said.
"I do agree with that." DJ responded.
"Me too." Dylan said before turning to their other siblings still playing.
"But for now let's just gather everyone and have a happy Christmas." Dylan said with a smile, everything that he now wanted was only for him to have a wonderful Christmas with his family and to no more think of what happened some time ago that could have ruined it.
