Here Comes the Bridesmaid

When SpongeBob is invited to Texas with Sandy to be her bridesmaid, nothing could stand in his way of making sure his friend had the perfect wedding. However, when new and old problems start to surface, can SpongeBob ensure the wedding goes off without a hitch?

2. Chapter 2

Fitting In

A/N: Have fun reading. Sorry, it's so short I'm busy with finals.

Dinner came swiftly for the residents of the house as the game ended and the Texans suffered a defeat by the New Orleans Saints 28 to 30.

"So, SpongeBob," Kenneth started, patting him on the back. "How long have y'all known each other?"

SpongeBob smiled as he picked up his fork and began eating. "Ever since Sandy moved to Bikini Bottom, sir, she's my best friend." He said, looking up at the older squirrel with an even bigger smile.

Sandy chuckled, for some reason feeling like Patrick had started crying. Anyway, she finished her meal, helping her mother clean up as Kenneth took SpongeBob to the porch.

Kenneth sat on the porch swing, clearing his throat as the sponge sat beside him. He sort of reminded Kenneth of a younger Sandy, bright-eyed and the world ahead of her up until—

He looked away from the sponge with a sigh. "I'm glad she's got a friend like you n all. Jus' makin' sure she's safe n all that down in the ocean." He said, fiddling with his hat.

"Well, she's mainly the one keeping me safe," SpongeBob laughed. "but she talks about you guys all the time and I'm excited for my fitting tomorrow!"

Kenneth nodded, standing up after a moment. "Big day ahead of ya, SpongeBob, better get some rest." He said, heading inside and leaving SpongeBob alone on the porch.

SpongeBob looked up at the stars, never seeing so many underwater. He hoped tomorrow would go smoothly, for Sandy's sake.

Sandy stretched as she woke up in her old room. The sun was rising as she got ready for the day, knocking on Randy's old room where SpongeBob was. She waited as SpongeBob clashed and cluttered around the room before he opened the door, Randy's old baseball cap sitting on his nose.

"Good morning, Sandy!"

"Shh, you'll wake everybody else up." She warned, folding her arms across her chest. "Come on, I wanna get to the bridal shop 'fore it gets packed." She continued, leading SpongeBob to the bathroom so he could shower.

She smiled as Maggie called, answering right as SpongeBob got out of the bathroom.
