After Mariah's proposal
So here I was standing on stage in society with the love of my life in front of me, with a open box in her hand. I wanted so much to say yes but after seeing Lindsay at the bar with her hand on Mariah & what she said, now wasn't the time there was so much swirling in my head.
"Mariah!" I said "I'm sorry." I could feel myself choking on my tears "I love you so much but I just can't". I turned & walked quickly out into the lobby & out the entrance. I managed to hold back the tears till I closed the door of our studio. I slumped on the sofa & the tears just started to flow.
Must have been about 10 minutes later I heard the key in the door, it opened slowly & in came Mariah carrying my guitar which I left because I was in such a hurry to get out of there. When I looked up at Mariah she had a look of concern on her face. She took her coat off & sat beside me.
"Tessa what's going on? I thought you wanted to marry me?" "I do but after you stopped me before I went away for a couple of days you said you need some time, then we'd talk about it. It's only been a couple of days, so what's changed? Is it because Lindsay turned up? Said what she said & we fought. Do you think you have to prove you want me?" "No that's not it at all Tessa, I love you & want to spend the rest of my life with you! Tes what's really go on? Talk to me please!" I thought about it & said "Mariah I thought I'd be okay with not knowing about what happened between you & her, but after seeing her there tonight with her hand on your arm & the things she said I find myself wondering if I'm good enough for you!"
"I'll tell you anything Tes." "Do you still think about that night before I walked in?" "No never, it was a mistake & I regretted it as soon as it happened. I just needed someone to talk to because I was so messed up without you. It meant nothing & I hadn't seen her since till tonight. I was as shocked as you Tessa & things that she said are not true" she took my hand & looked straight into my eyes "I only want you, you're everything to me." " Tell me the truth do you have any feelings for her?" "No. Tes no one could make me feel the way you do, I love everything about you & I don't know how I got so lucky to have you." she pulled me towards her & kissed me so deeply I could feel my whole body tingle. When she pulled away she said "Let's not think about getting engaged for now lets just enjoy what we have!" "It'll happen when the time is right, I love you Mariah!" she pulled me close & said "I love you too!" I put my arms round her & held her tight, I kissed her neck then her cheek to which she responded & kissed me on the lips. I ran my fingers threw her hair & as the passion overwhelmed us we made love
