Hey guys, I'm sorry this chapter's so short but I'm kind of hitting a writer's block right now.
I already have the ending planned out, it's just GETTING to the ending that is kind of hard for me right now.
"Am I that foreign looking?" she suddenly asked and the real Sakura had to gasp, jumping back one step.
"W-who are you?" Sakura asked in bewilderment.
Her doppelganger laughed again. "Who do I look like?"
Sakura swallowed nervously. "You're…me?"
Her doppelganger shook her head mockingly, clicking her tongue a few times. "No…but I mind as well be."
Her twin started stepping towards her and Sakura hesitated, meaning to step back but couldn't move fast enough before her twin suddenly leaped forward and forced a kiss on her.
The real Sakura's eyes widened into the embrace, too shocked to throw her off. Her lips were warm and fervent as it pressed against hers, when she felt her tongue sliding across her teeth, the real Sakura finally came to her senses, pushing her away.
Her doppelganger laughed mischievously as she licked her lips. "What? You and I both know this isn't the first time someone has forced a kiss on you."
Sakura flustered at this statement and looked away, unable to respond. She composed herself before turning back to her seemingly insane reflection.
"What exactly are you?"
Her doppelganger wagged her finger at her. "No, that's not the question you should be asking, Sakura."
The real pinkette felt a hint of frustration but she didn't let it bother her. It felt strange and difficult…getting upset at herself. Her voice was calm and level when she asked: "Then what should I ask you?"
Her doppelganger gestured towards the stone lectern that still stood in the center of the room. She instructed: "Take a look at that tablet again."
The real Sakura stepped into the center of the pillar of light that shown down from the ceiling, illuminating the music stand and gazed down. Her eyes scanned over the stone surface, and what had once been illegible kanji morphed into symbols she could read:
It was a list of names divided down into three columns.
There were about…thirty names in total on the entire stone surface but some of the names repeated, between column to column. The first two columns had multiple names listed down but in the last column there was only one…
Sasuke Uchiha.
Actually, the man's name was the last one on all three columns.
What was even more shocking was that Naruto's name was here too! Only in the first column however, and it was right above Sasuke's.
Naruto Uzumaki! She recognized the signature. Her friend had carved his name personally into this tablet. What…
Only when her doppelganger spoke again did Sakura realize the girl had moved to place her head right over her shoulder so that her mouth lined up right against the real Sakura's ear. "Do you know what these names are, Sakura?"
It was obviously a rhetorical question because her doppelganger answered it a second later: "Those that invoke any Myael have to sign a blood covenant against the world."
Sakura gasped.
She turned to meet her doppelganger's gaze once again. Her smile was so familiar and yet so menacingly morphed. Her look-a-like grasped her hand so that her index finger would protrude outwards and move to press right over the surface of the tablet, starting at the third column where only Sasuke's name was present.
"This is the Third Myael…" her twin whispered playfully, still far too close for comfort but Sakura couldn't summon the strength to fight her off as she moved to trace the second column now. "The Second Myael…oh look…"
Sakura felt dread the longer she stayed with this apparition.
"Look whose name is in the First Myael's section?" Her doppelganger stated maliciously while directing her finger to right above Naruto's name.
"I wonder..." Her doppelganger whispered, this time unbearably close to her lips again. "…who did Naruto bring back from the dead?"
I'll make the next chapter longer since this one was so short but I don't really know when it will next come out (like I said, partial writer's block T_T )
