Oliver's POV

The city around him was alive with people. It was the first time he had been allowed out of the castle in the desert.

Oliver wasnt alone. Members of the League were scattered throughout the crowd. Ra's was out in the open watching every movement.

Movement caught his eye. He dodged to the left and barely missed a tap. Unsurprisingly it Al Owal who had tried to catch him unawares.

In this exercise, they were meant to tap the mentors and members scattered throughout the crowd. They had to avoid both the notice of the crowd and a tap from the members.

So far he had seen two of his fellow initiates be tapped by their mentors. Oliver might look like he wasnt paying attention but he was aware of his surroundings. He had to be more than the other.

Al Owal disappeared back into the crowd. Carefully Oliver did the same looking for an opening.

He followed around a brown haired alpha assassin. The man was focused on another initiate who was staring into a window. Oliver tapped him just below the ribs and moved back into the crowd before the man could do anything.

The brown-haired man swung around but his hazel eyes could not find him. Hitting this unknown assassin wasnt the same as getting Al Owal.

A shadow caught his eyes and Oliver stepped back. A grey-haired beta had tried to tap him. There was a hardness in his eyes.

For his part, the omega grinned and moved away from him. They were underestimating him. It was not something they would be able to keep doing.

The game of tag went on for another two hours. Oliver had been able to avoid being tagged by the League. At the same time, he had been able to tag the brown-haired alpha five times and the grey-haired one twice.

Currently, he was pretending to be distracted by a book in front of a store mirror. Al Owal his real target was coming up on his left.

Al Owal went to tap him on the back of the neck. Oliver let him get in close before ducking in under the arm. He tapped Al Owal in the chest.

A smile etched itself across his face as the alpha whispered, "It was risky to let me get in so close, Al Sahim. A profitable one this time though."

Oliver bowed his head in respect. To receive praise from the alpha was a rare thing. Each piece of praise was closely guarded by the omega.

Then he slipped back into the crowd watching for any who might try and tap him. Zach was off to one side arguing with his mentor. It made a small smile appear on his face.

Zach and his mentor had their problems but it mostly stemmed from the younger man being pig-headed. No one could ever say that a Medusan was a pushover. Each had its issues and quirks. When it came down to it though you could count on them to have your back.

Zach looked up at him over his mentor's shoulder and flashed a grin. That man was certainly unique.

From the corner of his eye, he caught a flicker of movement. Immediately he stepped back as Panov stepped forward into his way. Recognizing the other omega his posture relaxed.

He inquired curiously, "What do you need, Panov?"

The older omega said, "I was checking on you Oliver. Zach has been doing a lot better but you still refuse to talk to me more than required."

"Trust isn't earned in a day doctor," he snapped.

Grey eyes spotted the brown-haired man again. His eyes were hard but would not approach as long as Panov was close to him.

Panov sighed tiredly, "I realize this, Oliver. I had hoped that you would come to trust me more. If anything being here has driven you farther from trusting me."

He was colder to everyone. Letting the training consume him. It wasnt the omega doctor's fault that he was pulling away.

When the time came he wasn't sure that he would be leaving the castle. He wasnt completely sure that he wanted to. Being able to find some kind of peace was rare.

He was about to continue when all of his instincts screamed at him. Something was wrong and he spun on his heel looking for the source. The street looked as normal as it had just a few seconds prior. The feeling in his chest was not going away.

He caught a flash of metal on the rooftop across the street. It wasnt muzzle flash but of someone signaling. He had used the same tactics on Medusa whenever they would take cover in a building. That meant...

Swinging around he checked the windows above him. Third-floor window, two from the right he saw more signaling. Something was happening.

"Charlie," he roared grabbing his friend's attention, "Run ops 3."

Zach had looked up at the roar of his callsign. When he had given the operation order and number his eyes grew cold. The laughter gone replaced by the look of a soldier.

Panov reached out to stop him with an outstretched palm. Oliver was already moving there were only a few important people here. The most important being Ra's Al Ghul.

He pushed himself through the crowd of people. Crossing the street he avoided the cars that honked angrily at him.

Ra's grey eyes looked up from the paper he was pretending to read. Oliver's eyes searched for where the attack would come from.

A man in tourist clothes came out of the park behind Ra's. To his trained eye, he knew they were too baggy to be normal. Picking up his pace he just barely reached Ra's before the other man.

Oliver used his superior height and standing position to haul Ra's to his feet. He pushed the man so that he was standing behind the Medusan.

The man noticed them and raised a weapon.

Ra's snapped angrily, "What do you think," a gunshot rang out interrupting him.

Fiery pain erupted on the top of his shoulder. It was barely a graze but that didn't mean it didnt hurt.

The moment the shot rang out the League sprang into action. He and Ra's were pulled away. Al Owal was gently checking him over.

Oliver tried to brush him off, "I'm fine Al Owal. It's just a graze."

The alpha rumbled in his chest as he said, "Even if it's a simple wound you should have it cleaned and bandaged. Children know this, Al Sahim."

Oliver shot back, "Time is a luxury that cant be wasted. We have to get to safer ground."

They might not like it but they knew he was right. The brown-haired man from before growled, "He's right. Look the car is here. My liege we need to get you out of here."
