I have something important to say, and I want some honest opinion about this:
This is my first attempt at not only writing an Amphibia fanfic, but also trying out something DIFFERENT from all of my previous fanfics:
I will try and ensure that every odd-numbered chapter, such as the chapters 1 and 3, will focus on the story.
However, every even-numbered chapter will be different, and are usually one of these:
1) Exposition or "encyclopedic article"
2) Diary account or a personal opinion of characters
3) Other articles
All even-numbered chapters are still important to some degree. They are not required to read, but they will make my story easier to understand.
My main reason for doing this is that I realize that this is one of my key issues. On the one hand, I want to write a good story. On the other hand, however, I am obsessed with worldbuilding. In fact, I realize that I end up overdoing it. Plus, worldbuilding starts to mess with my writing. Hence, I decide to try out this unusual move. That way, I can focus on story, yet still has room for worldbuilding.

Reptilia
Chapter 2: Background
"I have seen and known humans . . . and ate them. But these ones are . . . different. They have this strange aura, as if they are not from this world. In fact, I believe that they are aliens."

Humans
Humans are obvious; they are us, and the true heroes of this story.
However, humans in the Western media (or American, depending on one's perspective) are rather different from the humans in real life. They apparently are stronger and much more capable, being able to perform a variety of tasks that are actually dangerous in real life. For example, most humans somehow survive falls without suffering from fractures or even concussions. Humans in anime (also known as the Japanese cartoon) are even more improbable; they are more semi-divine than "normal" in terms of their capabilities.
Unlike the world of Amphibia, Reptilia takes place in a world where there are human cultures. Hence, unlike the Amphibians such as the frogs, the Saurians are used to interacting with humans. However, like the Amphibians, they do not know much about humans, due to a limited contact of sort.
Spoiler hint: humans in the same world as Reptilia are NOT the same people as the protagonists, belonging to completely different cultures.
Anna Brimstone
Anna is the main protagonist of this fanfic, and the protagonist of Anne's story, Phone Mo. She and Anne are very similar, from messy brown hair to tall height. However, Anna has some of her hair up in a little ponytail, or has it up in twintails, depending on her preference and mood.
She is a Thai-American teenage girl, who is the tallest of her group. With a slender build, light brown skin, and messy brown hair, she is unmistakable. In fact, she is the only Thai-American and dark-skinned girl in her group.
Spoiler hint: since Anna is essentially Anne's own self-insert, Anna will be developed based on the episodes up to the last one from the year 2020. Anna is brave, caring, compassionate, and kind, even to those who have hurt her. She struggles with peer pressure, and is learning to develop her own independent will.
Twig
Twig is a character from Anne's story, Phone Mo. He looks like a human version of Sprig, down to his hair color and an overall fashion of fashion. However, unlike Sprig, he has a great sense of self-control, and is more restrained in his actions and emotions. Hence, he is apparently very intelligent. In essence, Twig is both a human and a more mature version of Sprig Plantar, although he is impulsive at times.
Spoiler hint: he is going to fall in love.
Molly
Molly is a character from the same story as that of Anna and Twig. Like Twig, Molly is the human version of Polly Petunia Plantar, down to even her hair bow. However, due to her appearance, she is now more like a teenage girl, and has a close relationship with her brother Twig.
Spoiler hint: Molly is going to be a mixture of both her original character and another one, from a completely separate show.
Haddie / Patty
Haddie is another character based on a frog, this time Maddie. She is nearly identical to Maddie if she is a human, down to even having her right eye hidden by her hair. To those outside of her circle, she obviously appears eerie and even suspicious. However, like Maddie, Haddie is understanding and likes to be on friendly terms with everyone.
Spoiler hint: Haddie is going to be very similar to Maddie.
Broadie / Brody
Broadie is the last of the group. He is perhaps the least like the original frog Toadie. Unlike Toadie, Broadie is now friends with Anna and her group. However, he is not very developed, due to Anne's story being so short. Hence, my version of Broadie will develop over the story.
Spoiler hint: Broadie is going to be quite different from Toadie, due to being a part of the group.
So, I can tell that this chapter is really short.
But it's intended, because I want to take time to develop the characters, and see what I can do with them.
Due to the nature of this AU, Anna and her friends will be different from the originals in many ways.
