This AU follows Izuku Midoriya who never meets All Might or saves Bakugo from the sludge villain. He has grown through high school and still does not seem to have a quirk. Class 1-A and B have continued training and the LOV has proceeded to attack just like in the manga. However, everything that happens during the Overhaul arc has not occurred yet. The characters are just older and time has shifted. It's time to find out what Izuku's been up to all these years...
There will be OC's introduced, special chapters dedicated to other characters, but most of all, Izuku's journey to becoming a hero in his own way. I hope you enjoy it!
Chapter 13: All Your Fault
"You idiot!"
Jun didn't even have a chance to finish explaining himself before Shigaraki flung him across the room. He crashed into a bunch of boxes and bit down on his tongue. Blood seeped into his mouth and he forcefully swallowed it.
"Shigaraki, wait…" Kurogiri warned.
"He almost fucked everything up and you want me to wait?!" Shigaraki spat, looking around at everyone. Dabi was leaning on the wall with his eyes closed and his arms over his chest, while Toga sat in Twice's lap as he braided her hair. Spinner was sharpening his knives in the other corner of the room on top of some rubble, and Mr. Compress was polishing his rings, humming a little tune.
Jun winced at his harsh words. He tried to get up but his body was trembling so hard he had a hard time moving.
"I– I'm sorry. I just… I couldn't see his quirk so I panicked and– and– thought I would be able to get rid of him–"
Bam.
Another hit, this time Shigaraki kicked him in the stomach.
Jun leaned over and tried throwing up but nothing came out. He hadn't had a proper meal in days, especially since he had been so focused on carrying out the plan. The plan that was now killing him.
He remembered obsessing over it. Ever since Midoriya had broken his record player, he had been itching for a way to get revenge. But he didn't want to tell the League. Not yet. Jun wasn't about to let a quirkless nobody get the best of him.
Except his plan to burn down the school and get rid of him had failed. Worse than that though, his initial assumption had been correct. Izuku Midoriya did have a quirk and it seemed like it was really powerful. Jun remembered running from the area and watching the building explode, walking by the next morning to see the giant hole where Midoriya had punched through.
He should've just stayed away for good. But then the cops had noticed him hanging around and tried to question him. Of course, he had panicked and had run all the way to the League for help. And now Overhaul had kicked them out of the place he had rented for them because he thought they broke their promise.
"I told you to scout the area. Nothing more, nothing less. And what did you do?" Shigaraki hissed, grabbing his collar forcefully. Jun held back a whimper. He couldn't meet Shigaraki's eyes, not like this.
"What did you do?" Shigaraki repeated angrily.
Jun felt tears in his eyes. He wanted to say he was sorry, that he had been really scared and had never imagined Izuku Midoriya would have a quirk at all, let alone something so powerful, but his words got stuck in his throat.
"I just wanted– I just thought that maybe–" Jun heaved in between sobs. Shigaraki shoved him back to the floor.
"Because of you, the police have started trying to track us down again. And Overhaul is back to being suspicious about our alliance," Shigaraki narrowed his eyes at him.
"I'm sorry. I can make it up to you. Now that I know he has a really strong quirk I can bring him here and we can use him for the next part of our plan. He's an idiot. I'm sure he doesn't even know how to activate it– "
But Shigaraki was already walking towards the door. Jun's heartbeat quickened as he tried scrambling to his feet.
"Don't worry about that. I already made arrangements with your replacement," Shigaraki stopped as he reached the door handle. Jun wiped his eyes with trembling hands.
"My what?" he asked quietly.
"Jun, you're fired."
Spinner's eyes widened. He jumped off the pile of dirt he had been sitting on and rushed over to Shigaraki. "What?! But we need him. Especially for Phase II of the plan," he protested.
"I don't care. We'll just figure shit out like we always do, Spinner. Now get the fuck out of my way or I'm going to get really get mad," Shigaraki said in a low voice.
When no one said anything else, he stepped out of the room and slammed the door behind him. As he did that, the entire door disintegrated, shrouding the room in dust.
Kurogiri sighed and gave Jun an irritated glance. "Don't worry. I'll make him change his mind, but you better get out of here for now because I can't guarantee I'll be able to hold him back if he sees you again." Then, he walked after Shigaraki and the entire wall finished collapsing.
Toga rushed over to Jun and started consoling him, while the others assured him they weren't going to kick him out, but Jun wasn't listening anymore.
Shigaraki hates me, he thought in horror.
Shigaraki hates me and… and it's all Izuku Midoriya's fault. He didn't understand where the plan had gone wrong. If Jun's initial impression of Midoriya's raw power was correct, then that was the first time he had ever used his quirk. He should've died in the fire. Had someone told him about the attack? Warned him beforehand? Was there someone like that out there?
He thought back to when he had been following Midoriya around town. How he had met up with Lemillion and then…
That had to be it. There was only one person who could've told Midoriya about everything. Only one person who could have predicted it would happen. Jun clenched his fists.
"Jun-jun! It was a great idea," Toga pouted, pulling him into her arms and rubbing her cheek affectionately on his forehead.
"Yeah. You shouldn't have acted on your own, but if my quirk suddenly stopped working like that I wouldn't have known how to react either," Mr. Compress admitted.
"Nice going Jun, you ruined everything. No, wait, I mean good going!" Twice cheered, peeking over at him from Toga's shoulder.
"You said you were able to figure out the kid's quirk, right?" Dabi asked, stepping out of the shadows.
Everyone turned to look at him. Jun nodded slowly, still staring at the ground where a pool of his blood had formed. His injuries were still leaking but he felt no pain. His entire body was numb. If he stared hard enough, he could see his pathetic reflection.
"Y-yeah. There was a brief moment after the explosion where it was visible for me but then it went away again. I still don't get why it does that but he definitely has one," Jun nodded slowly. He thought back to the way Midoriya's aura had changed as he tore through the air.
"Well then stop fucking crying. Now we know what we're dealing with and who to look out for. If you're that upset, then do something about it."
"What?" Jun looked up weakly.
"How did it feel Jun?" Dabi crouched down in front of him. There was a wicked smile on his face and his eyes were glowing dangerously.
"How did it feel to set Izuku Midoriya's world on fire?"
Jun gulped. He hadn't really thought about it, but he had definitely felt a rush of power when he thought his plan had succeeded. Especially when he imagined how proud Shigaraki would be once he told him what he had done.
"I… I guess it felt good," he admitted quietly, the sound of the kids screaming running through his mind, over and over like the record player he used to own. Izuku Midoriya had broken the first one, but this one, Jun realized, was so much better.
Dabi's sadistic smile widened.
"Would you like to do it again?"

Ooooh, villains. Guess Izuku just made his first enemy and now he wants revenge. That can't be good. (Btw Kurogiri hasn't been captured by the heroes yet). Thanks for reading everyone!
