Her name… Yua Tooru. A young girl that fears the world around her, ever since she turned five she saw them; strange and scary monster like creatures in the skies, on the ground and coming in and out of her walls of the bedroom.
She had never believed it. In fact, when she learned the truth about her family's secret ability, Yua feared it.
She was sat down at the age of five, clenching on to her favorite plush toy fox when her parents explained what she saw and how to cope. "That was a curse dear," her father said gently. "And yes, they can hurt you, unless you know how to deal with them."
She shook her head to it all. "I don't wanna!" she protested. "Just make them go away!"
Her parents sighed aloud. "Yua, we can't do it all the time. We can get rid of the ones we see and try to harm you or your brother, but we cannot stop them all the time, you need to learn how to fight them yourself. Your ability is growing as we speak" her mother explained.
But she refused to listen, why should she?
The training however went on, her brother, Shin, forced her at times to participate despite the fact she wanted nothing to do with the lessons. Being an older brother though, he was able to manipulate her into training without her realizing it. One instant, they were out in the backyard, he was using a long spear to swat away the flying head curses that his parents kept around for practice. She watched on but didn't want to hit the strange things. They were too hideous for her to even look at. "I can hit more of these than you can!" her brother said proudly.
She glared at him from afar. "I can hit them if I wanted to, and better than you!" she protested.
"I don't see you even trying!" he snapped back. "Look see…"
WACK
He got three in one shot. "You can't do that!" he said and smirked.
She got up off stairs, grabbing the closest weapon she could… that happened to be a rake. Yua glared at him when she twirled it about with such ease, in a single swipe, she got 6!
She then turned and glared at him. "I'm just as good!" she protested.
"You got lucky," he snapped back. "Pure, luck!"
"I'LL PROVE IT WASN'T LUCK!"
For the rest of the afternoon, she competed with her brother in getting rid of the flying head monster like creatures. She got twenty when her brother got twelve. With that, she glared at him and stuck out her tongue. "Just as good!" she said and stormed inside.
Yet as she did, she heard strange voices.
Yua paused as her mother and father were speaking with someone. "I told you, we don't do that anymore!" her father stated.
"We put that behind us and are trying to live a normal life," mother insisted.
She took a look around the corner, but paused to see a young boy, just slightly older than her brother staring at her oddly. His eyes were the brightest blue she had ever seen, and it made her hide again.
"You don't understand, we need you to help us, you are aware of the cursed spirit Ryomen Sukuna."
The name alone somehow made her blood run cold. She didn't care for it at all, in fact, her parents appeared just as shocked to the name that was spoken. "We're more than aware of him, what of it?" her mother demanded in a spiteful tone.
"We are hunting down his fingers. To ensure that they are never used and he cannot return." The odd man explained. "We need you're help to conceal our movements in doing so. If organizations as well as curse spirits catch wind of our plan, it could cause some trouble. I want to get this done and over with so Satoru won't have to be burdened with it!"
"You okay?"
She jumped as the blue eye boy was somehow beside her now. She gasped at the sight of him and slowly, slid down the wall in fear. "Who are you…" she whispered.
He shrugged his shoulders. "You can call me Gojo if you want."
"Gojo… is that your dad?" she asked.
He peered back, but shook his head no. "My teacher, family hired him to train me to be a shaman." He explained.
"A Shaman?"
"Sorcerer, we can do weird stuff" he said and smiled. "Apparently, I do more weird stuff than others, but oh well!" he said and laughed. "I don't know why we're here either." He said meekly.
"Who Suk… Sukunnna?" she asked in an odd tone.
"Oh Sukuna? I only read about him, the so called king of curses. He was killed a thousand years ago or something, but the weird thing is, he had four arms… and twenty fingers!" he said in a creepy tone as he danged his fingers before her. "Before he died, they said they could destroy most of his body… but his fingers…"
"That's enough!"
Her brother stepped in.
Gojo smirked to him and backed off. "Easy there, just telling her about the king of curses or whatever. Not like he's going to come back!"
Her brother wasn't laughing. Yua turned to her older sibling who merely nodded his head to her. "He's telling you the truth. He was a very horrible person and became a demon, his fingers are all that remain of him. But if curses consume them, they get stronger, making them harder to defeat."
"Ew! Who would eat that!" she protested.
"Anyone who wants power for themselves. But normal people can't. They are poisonous, you would die the moment it hits your stomach… unless…"
"Unless…" Yua asked.
"Demon vessel," her brother muttered.
She was confused, staring between her brother and Gojo, she wanted to see who would explain it first to them. However neither would utter another word about it.
"GOJO! We're leaving!"
"That's my ride, later!" he waved them off and smiled once more like there was nothing wrong with the world. Tau was scared though. She turned to her brother who was startled as well.
They entered the room where their parents were calming themselves down. When father noticed them, he froze. "How much of that did you hear?" he asked.
"A little," Yua confessed. "But I heard nothing more after you mentioned the bad man," she whispered meekly.
They were stunned. Yet a sigh came over their father. "You two, come sit, we need to speak of this."
They crept into the dining room. Sitting down before their parents, they looked to them with concern. "Dad…" her brother asked.
"You need to know the truth about something. About our family." He explained. "We come from a long family of shaman, or sorcerers."
"Same with my side of the family," their mother chimed in. "We kept it a secret from each other until one night we hunted the same cursed spirit. Our families hid themselves from the others due to our abilities. Until recently…"
"Mom…" Shin whispered.
"Who just came represented some of the other shaman, who are looking to ensure that the demon named Sukuna never returns. It's wishful thinking, but it's not possible to stop it all together…" father went on to explain the fingers of Sukuna that cannot be destroyed. Just as she learned before, if a spirit consumes the finger, they get stronger. If a person does, they will die unless they are a one in a million demon vessel.
"Demon vessel?" Shin asked. "How does that even happen?"
"No one knows, but our family has been known to find them. But they mainly want our abilities to hide the fingers of Sukuna when they are found…" mother explained.
Yua shook her head to it all. "Ew no!" she protested.
"I agree," father said and smiled. "We refused, besides. We have other matters to attend to."
"Other matters?" Shin asked curiously. "Dad…"
"That's all we will say for now, BUT, if you train hard, we will tell you the secret." Their mother said and smiled.
From then on, Shin trained like mad.
Yua refused to go all out, but she began to take it more seriously, the thought of a bad man coming back made her blood run cold. Even worst, at night, she was getting nightmare.
A three eyed monster was staring at her in her dreams. It was huge and could swallow her whole if it desired to, but she kept seeing it every night.
Ever since she met Gojo.

The years passed.
Yua turned 12 and was hard at work with her lessons. Shin never gave up on the notion of the secret his parents hid from them, but he was also starting to get angry with Yua.
He worked so hard on his skills, however wasn't improving as fast as he wanted to. Yua on the other hand, was a natural. Everything appeared effortless to her.
She began to feel her brother's anger towards her, Yua tried to explain she didn't mean it, but he would storm off bitterly to the conversation. She gave chase to him, just as her parents were calling their names. "Shin, Yua!" father called.
They glared at each other before entering the living room. There were maps and strange parchments all over the place. Her father had the biggest grin on his face though. Their mother on the brink of tears.
"Mom… dad…" Shin whispered.
"I want you kids to pack some things. We are going on a trip… essentially, we're going to search for something very special…" he said as his smile grew wider.
Shin froze. "Wait, dad, is this…"
He smiled. "You two are ready, but we will give you more details about it when we go. But for now. Pack your things, and be ready. We are leaving tomorrow morning."
Yua was stunned.
Just like that, the whole family is up and leaving? She didn't mind though, school has been a bother to her and her brother. Especially since they can see the curses that hover around.
Still, an adventure with the family sounded like fun.
She rushed upstairs to pack. They were to carry only a backpack of a few clothing and other items, no junk by mom's rule. She packed her change of clothing and a few extras. She was nearly done when her mother knocked on the door. "Yua…" she said gently.
"Mom?"
Her mother smiled warmly. "I have something to give, you, something very special… it's a family heirloom."
Yua froze as her mother came into the room, she closed the door and then reached into her shirt. She always wore a chain of some sort, but ever saw what it held held. Until now.
Yua froze to the trinket, it appeared to be a large metal fang of some sort. "Mom, what is it?"
"As I said, a family heirloom, and I think it's about time you are ready to receive it," she said gently. "It's to be passed down to the strongest member of the family…"
Her mother took the necklace off and placed it over her head. Despite how it looked, the trinket was the size of her pinky finger, yet it weight a lot around her neck! "Wait, what about Shin?" she asked.
Her mother smiled warmly. "He's not as strong as you are dear, we have wanted to get your properly trained for a while, you are a natural talent to say the least, and you have both your father's and my curse abilities. You are the strongest member of our family, so it's only right for you to wear this." Her mother gave her a kiss on her forehead. "Always keep it with you," she whispered. "It will protect you."
Yua didn't know why, but she felt as if a burden had been placed on her. But she gave a nod to her mother and thanked her for the gift.
The family was packed by nightfall, tomorrow, they would be going out on an adventure…
