Chapter. 68

Vincent, Rebecca, Lyle, and Corina returned to the theater. The doors opened and the lights lead the four to the stage, the certain rose to reveal a castle set on the stage. The lights dimmed and a single bright light came down on the right of the stage a Topaz trickster walked out holding a glass of wine in one hand a skull in the other.

"Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day to the last syllable of recorded time and all our yesterdays have lighted fools the ways to dusty death." Topaz throws the skull across the stage. "Out, out brief candle!" Topaz waves his hand and candles light up along the top of the castle. "Life is but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

"Macbeth." Commented Rebecca.

Topaz nods. "Very good! glad you know it!"

Lyle shock his head. "Only because it's the most over used bit of the play."

"Then what's it about?"

"Macbeth's view of humanity being pointless, despite trying to be otherwise."

Topaz nods. "Right you are."

"I prefer what hamlet wrote to macbeth." Said Rebecca.

"Really?" Topaz walked to the edge of the stage and kneeled down to Rebecca. "Which one?"

"What a piece of work is man. How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty. In form, in moving, how express and admirable. In action, how like and angel. In apprehension, how like a god."

Topaz stands and starts clapping, soon the whole theater is filled with the sounds of applause. "Wonderful! Truly wonderful!"

"We're here to help out fighting the other clans." Stated Vincent. "That is if you can keep us safe from the hoards of the opal."

Topaz holds up his hands and the clapping stops. "I can, but answer me this Vincent-"

"No. I didn't take out opal, I still don't know what happened to her."

"So of the four kings to fall you took down three. Still impressive Vincent, but let's soon make that four." Topaz claps his hands and the stage props vanished and a map of the city came down. The map showed the legion territory lines. "As we can see. The purple guys are gaining ground but it's slowing down. More land means spreading your forces thinner. At this point the three remaining legions are stuck, to get more land is just retaken as it's too lightly guarded."

"So what do we do?" Asked Lyle.

"When you all were in the opal my spy tell me you were on the tail of the emerald leader. I was hoping to wait until you found them then my legion will beat you to the punch."

"Spies?" Asked Corina. "No one outside... Catherine."

"Not all is lost. The topaz has followed were the opal felt off!" Topaz points upward and a thin yellow light landed on the map in the emerald legion. "Before Catherine went dark, you all arresting her, she found something on the leader." Topaz punches the floor and the moves up, props of an old war battlefield appeared. "The emerald has it's whole legion meet up in the unlimited field every sunday to grind for points. Two PM sharp."

"You're planning a full scale war?" Asked Vincent.

Topaz nods. "The only way to get them. My army will fight to the death while you all... Where Levi?"

"She make a child and is training her."

"Wonderful!" Topaz hugs himself. "The ice queen has a child! Your powers have grown and will be all the stronger and faster to smash the emerald leader!" Topaz claps his hands and holds them out to the group.

A menu appeared, offering them all to join the topaz legion, each of them looking to each other to see who'd go first.

"Fuck it." Vincent reach out to accept, Rebecca quickly followed.

Corina looked to Lyle who watched Vincent then accepted as well. Corina nodded and also accepted.

"Great!" Topaz throw up his fists. "Welcome to the cool kids club team!" Topaz snapped his fingers and stairs opened up on the sides of the stage. "Come on up then!" Topaz steps back.

Vincent and Lyle were the first ones to go with the girls right behind them.

Topaz points upward. "Be ready! We strike in four days gallants!" Topaz holds out his hands. "Till then, get your wits ready and your weapons sharp. Time to really put the 'war' in this gem war!"

Meanwhile in the unlimited field, Levi and Elizabeth trained.

"What you need to do is think of what drives you the most. The incarnate system is fueled by your emotions." Said Levi.

"What emotions are the best?"

"Whatever is your strongest." Levi steps closer to Elizabeth. "Why are you here?"

"I want to be here for my brother."

"Why is that?"

"My brother... He's always been distant. Like I'm not good enough to be around him."

"You want to be closer to Vincent."

"Yes."

"You love him."

"He's my brother, of course I do."

"Then focus on that feeling. Let it charge your power, but you have to be careful. The incarnate system is strong but it tears at you heart and mind." Levi shivered at the memory of Onyx avenger.

"Then why use it?"

"It's the only way to fight other players who have it."

"So a self harming system... I need to look into this."

"You can do that after I know you have it down solid. You're a level one. You'll die if you don't at least have the incarnate system to protect you." Levi stretched her arms out. "Break's over. Once I know you have a good understanding of the system we'll go out and get you some points." Levi taps Elizabeth on the head with her staff. "Under me you'll be going hard and fast. So you better keep up."

"I can keep up in anything with tech!" Elizabeth lightly hits her chest with her fist.
