Chapter. 72

Vincent returned to the real world and the machine connected to him went haywire. Vincent felt his chest burn up from the pain of where he was shot. His mind returned to day Catherine shot him and the pain in his arms flared up. Nurses rushed in to restrain him as the machines pumped sedatives to make Vincent calm down and sleep. When he woke up Vincent saw Rebecca and Elizabeth at his bed side. "What happened?"

"We won, that's what happened." Said Elizabeth.

"But what about you?" Rebecca took a hold of Vincent's hand. "The doctor said you went into shock."

"Yes, not fun." Vincent took a deep breath. "I'm fine now. So we won?"

"You should've seen it! Lyle was ripping to emerald leader in half!" Elizabeth leaned closer. "But you, where did you get that water bird?"

"I can answer that." Halcon appeared before everyone in for form of a dove landing on Vincent lift arm. "I am Halcon, a pleasure to meet you both." Elizabeth and Rebecca were silent. "Allow me to explain." Halcon told the two what he was and how he met Vincent.

"This is nuts." Elizabeth said when Halcon finished. "You're an AI? An AI in this game, a game very few know about." She waved her hand to write notes. "I have so many questions!"

"Then ask what you want."

As the two talked Rebecca shook her head. "So what will happen to you now?"

"I'll be here for a few more days, week at most. Then I'll go to a rehab place to learn to use my muscles again. Walking is going to be easy enough, but my arms are going to be a bitch." Vincent glanced to the door. "Where's the others?"

"Lyle is at boxing practice and Corina is with him. Levi has to look over he company."

"Ah. So what have you been up to?"

"Besides missing you? Keep my studies up and getting better at driving your bike."

"That's good, soon you'll be able to get your own."

Rebecca shook her head and smiled. "Please V. My parents are scared enough when I ride with you. Riding on my own will put them in the grave."

"But you are driving on your own."

"They don't know that."

Vincent laughs then holds his chest. "Ow, ow, still hurts." A massaged appear in front of Vincent, telling him his meal was here. "Reby can you get the door please?"

"Sure."

Rebecca opened the door and stepped back as a cart rolled in with a tray of food, pushed in by Catherine. "Het Vinny! How's my king slayer doing?"

"The fuck do you want?!" Vincent sat up and felt his chest burn. He reached out and held onto the rails on the side of his bed to stay up.

"Easy Vinny, you'll only hurt yourself." Catherine pushed the cart to the side of Vincent's bed.

"As if you care about him!" Shouted Rebecca.

"I care more then you. You like what he's trying to be. I love what he really is."

"Get the hell out, now." Said Vincent.

"But I have something to tell you."

"And I don't want to hear it."

"Alright." Catherine holds her hands up and steps back. "But give this a read. You'll change your point of view on the topaz." Catherine waved her finger and sent a massage to Vincent. "Enjoy your lunch Vinny." Catherine blow a kiss to Vincent and walked out.

Vincent swung his arm to knock the cart aside and the food on the floor. Vincent fell back and held his arm from the pain. "Fucking damn it!"

"V!"

"Vince!" Elizabeth and Rebecca rushed to Vincent's side.

Vincent slowly opened and closed his hand to ease the pain. "Fuck thot."

"What did she send you?" Asked Halcon.

"Don't know, don't care."

"But it wouldn't hurt to look, right?" Asked Elizabeth.

Vincent took a deep breath. "Alright." Vincent opened the message and started to read.

"What's on it?"

"We need the others here now."

In the school's locker room Corina was helping Lyle get his gloves on. "How are you feeling?"

"I feel good,."

"Then get in there and win!"

"Coco. This is just practice."

"I know, I know. Still though."

"I know." Lyle stood up and kissed Corina on her forehead. "I'll be back soon." Lyle walked out of the locker room and into the ring, where Faber waited for him.

"Hey titan."

"Don't call me that."

"Alright. Just asking you to keep this fair."

"All of my fights are fair, at least from me."

"Right." Faber's dripped with sarcasm.

The match began and the two circled each other. Lyle started with a left jab but Faber dodge and punched Lyle in the chest. Lyle followed up with a right hook and Faber ducked under and punched Lyle in the ribs.

"Come on Lyle take him out!" Shouted Corina.

Faber throw a punch and Lyle leaned back to evade. As Lyle moved Faber charged with his fist out and Lyle put up his gloves to block. Faber's fist waved around Lyle's defense to strike Lyle in the side of the head. Lyle lowered his gloves and Faber punched him in the face.

Faber didn't let up, each of Lyle's moves were stopped or dodged when Faber countered at each chance. A message from Vincent appeared, distracting Lyle for Faber to land another hit to his face. Lyle dropped to one knee and stayed down until the coach counted to ten, declaring Faber the winner.

Lyle stood up and climbed out of the ring. "Lyle!" Corina ran to greet Lyle. "What happened?"

"I think Faber was using brain burst. He was talking about it before the match."

"So now that he knows you have brain burst it's okay to use on others?!"

"Calm yourself Coco. We have another matter to deal with. Vincent needs to see use."

Levi wondered around her home as she read massages from her company while looking at news sites for weather reports. "Okay so the storm is in the sea, stopping sea runs but flight might still make it."

A massage from Elizabeth appear before Levi, she tapped it to see it was asking her to come to Vincent's room in the hospital. "This just never ends, does it?" Levi took a deep breath then sent a reply. "Time to clean up another mess."

Vincent's room door opened as Lyle and Corina walked in. "Hello Vincent." Stated Lyle.

"What's up?" Asked Corina.

"Something came up. Catherine came here."

Lyle scowled while Corina looked concerned. "What happened? What did she do?"

"What is it now?" Aske Levi as she walked in.

"Catherine." Said Rebecca.

"What now?"

Vincent waved his hand to show the message to everyone.

You're not safe in the topaz legion. The leader will take you all out. Look into the others of the legion and you'll see.

Levi shrugged. "And how do we know this is true and not a trap?"

"It's still something to look into." Said Elzabeth.

Lyle nods. "I'll speak with Faber tomorrow."

A massage appeared in front of everyone, telling them that visitors needed to leave.

"Let's deal with this tomorrow." Rebecca patted Vincent's shoulder. "Will you be okay?"

"I'll be fine, thank you."
