Chapter 12
Day 2
Yuuji was outside, resting under his favorite tree that happened to be the only cherry blossom on the property. It was just becoming the soft pink color that is rather soothing for his soul. Despite the peace, he has felt Sukuna speaking to him late at night. He's become rather chatty in his sleep and insisted on talking to him. "We can escape," he said proudly. "Retrieve the other finger and consume it, and I promise you, no one will kill you."
That shit eating grin was getting annoying. Yuuji flat out refused the offer. "I won't do it to save you, nor to save me. I made a promise and I am going to see it through. We're going to die and you can't do anything to stop it!"
"Challenge accepted boy!" the demon said and laughed. "Oh, what I am going to do at full strength… you see, I think I am going to enjoy this little execution. Because it won't be me dying!"
He went on to say how he was going to make Yuuji watch as he slaughters everyone before him, starting with his friends and teacher. Then, he will destroy his upperclassmen, and then take out the whole institution. "This is rather perfect if you think about it, all the shaman will be there to watch your execution… making them sitting ducks!"
"I'll warn them you know. I will tell them everything you have told me here!"
"Go ahead, it will make it more fun!" Sukuna said with a grin. "Boy, you have yet to truly suffer, and when they set the date, I will make certain you know it first hand…"
He has since warned his sensei of the plan, Gojo nodded and stated they will make preparations and prepare just in case. Since then, he has laid out under the cherry blossoms.
"BROTHER!"
He jumped as Aoi suddenly blocked his view. "Hey… why are you here?" Yuuji asked.
"Some sort of meeting going on, got dragged to it. But I ain't attending, I got bigger plans in mind and you're coming with me!" he stated with a grin.
"Bigger plans?" he asked.
He suddenly held up tickets. "First show of the new Jennifer Lawrence movie…"
"NO WAY!"
"We're going, right now!"
"Hell yeah!"
#
"Good distraction…" Yua muttered. She was on the outside looking in as the elders called for the meeting. Gojo was doing everything he could to get Yuuji more time to do things he wants to before getting executed, but they are getting dashed left, right and center.
She had enough.
Without knocking she barged into the room, once more rendering them silent to her presence. Reaching into her shirt, ripped off her necklace and pierced the table with it.
Despite the whole thing being made of solid oak, the table cracked down the middle with ease. "I didn't put my full strength into that," she warned and left the trinket embedded. The room went into whispers. "You of all people know what this is. In this world we have focused on nothing more than cursed objects to defeat a curse, but we fail to remember we are not the only ones fighting them. Also there is another side to everything, Yin and Yang… Curse… and divine," she said.
"It's part of the reason why your family died out!" one elder scolded her. "You relied too much on the divine and not your own family abilities!"
"Hold your tongue elder," she warned. "Yes, my family was killed by curses, but we didn't have much knowledge of the divine until my Uncle became a monk. In the years I spent at the temple in Tibet, I have learned of the divine and know it is real. To this day none of you believe in it. But I am here to tell you they exist and they can help."
"Enough nonsense! What is the point of your interference!"
She kept a cold look on her face. "I want to save this boy… by putting something bigger and stronger than Sukuna into him."
Silence.
Of course there would be silence.
"It's impossible, he is the king of curses, there is nothing stronger than Sukuna when he is at full strength!" another elder shouted.
"You don't get it, my family…"
"Enough with this nonsense. Your trinket, as much as I do admit it is a divine object… will not be enough to sway us to consider the notion. Yuuji Itadori will be executed in two days."
She was stunned, not by the verdict, but the fact that they are giving him two days. Elders would want to move this along quickly. But perhaps they need those two days to prepare. She tore her pendent out from the table before storming out of the room.
An anger was growing within her, but she has to settle down. "Easy now, no point in getting upset… we have a plan…" she said over and over again.
Eventually she settled, not before she froze and vomited blood from where she stood. "Shit, I'm breaking down…" she muttered. There wasn't much time left for her, perhaps two days is perfect.
If she can last that long.
