Chapter 14

He saw them preparing outside the window.

Itadori watched as the elders were making a sealing circle, but decided to look away since it would only help Sukuna if he gets a heads up on what they are doing. Instead, he began to walk about and started to feel the pressure of what is yet to come. He was nervous, scared and at the same time relieved it will all be over. But so will he.

He will never know many things in his short life, but at least he will have people who cared about him be there in his time of need. "Care to talk?" came the voice of Yoshinobu.

Yuuji peered up to the old man but sighed. "What's there to talk about?" he asked.

"I thought you would like some insight on Yua, you have been close with her for the past few days…"

"Not close, just… we have an understanding between us. I think she knows how I feel…"

"How can she? She's not holding a demon in her body!" he protested. "I fear this young woman is merely putting on a brave face for you… don't take her word too seriously either…"

His back was up on this already, did the old man have a grudge against her or something? "What's with this all of a sudden?"

He sighed aloud. "You should know something. As talented of a family she came from, they didn't always rely on their abilities, which were some of the best at the time. They believe in another power, but failed to use it. Sukuna wiped out the whole family when he used a proxy. He had always planned to take out this family. All he has left to do is to end Yua, and I fear he may try to do so sooner than later."

"She already told me she was dying,"

"Dying isn't dead," he warned. "Her whole bloodline was erased because of that… thing in you right now. I wonder though why she hasn't taken matters into her own hands yet to avenge her family."

"What are you getting at?"

Yoshinobu sighed. "I wouldn't have her there when you are getting executed." He said. "If something happens, the first person Sukuna is going for is her." He left him to stew in thought to it all.

Yuuji felt burdened suddenly. All the pressures of the world were adding up on to his shoulders, yet something still didn't feel right with him. Looking at his own hands, he sighed aloud as he could remember seeing Sukuna hold his very heart within them once more… he then began to see that bastard doing it to everyone around him, tearing out their beating hearts before they die…

No, he won't let that happen.

His dreams have stopped for the past few days. All he hears now is Sukuna's laughter and snickering as to how everyone he cares about is going to die.

Enough is enough!

He stormed off shortly after only to hear the elders. "We finished well in advance, we have prepared for this moment, we could do it tomorrow…"

"We promised the boy…"

He came out from around the corner. The elders froze at the sight of him when he said. "Do it,"

"What?"

"If you are ready, do it tomorrow then!"

"Why? You still have another day…"

"I am not going to be burdened with this any longer. Everyone is breathing down my neck, counting down the days until my head is taken. Save everyone the hassle and do it tomorrow!" he shouted. "Besides, I'll be going on my terms."

They were stunned to his declaration.

But no one refused him to say the least. Yuuji went to his room for the night and decided to prepare a few things. He wrote notes to all his friends and prepared to part with what little he had to give them.

"Pathetic, even for you!"

"Shut the hell up," he growled.

Sukuna wasn't going to. "You gave them a heads up them, good, as I said, make this more fun for me. Also the old man wasn't wrong about Tau. I will aim for her first!" he snickered.

"You won't get the chance to," Yuuji said defiantly. "I won't let you anyways."

"Keep telling yourself that boy. When I am free, I am going to lavish in my old ways and make you experience the joys of the kill! You will bathe and drink the blood of innocent people. Women and children are especially tasty…"

He punched his mouth, which stopped the conversation. "Keep dreaming, you won't ever taste blood again. I will never let you harm another life…"

"We'll see boy, we'll see…"

"Is he insane!?"

"Apparently so, doesn't even want one more day to live…"

Gojo got the news, he quickly informed his students and Yua of the execution. Yua sighed aloud but nodded. "It comes down to this doesn't it?" she asked.

"What do we do?" asked Fushiguro.

Gojo paused. "Well, we can do a lot of things, but this can't happen until he consumes the last finger…"

"Which Yua still has," said Nobara. "So why is she still here?"

Yua sighed. "I have a plan, but I am unsure if it will work." She explained. "It will either save him or kill him, but we don't have much of a choice in the matter now do we?"

"How come you are telling us this now?" Nobara demanded.

"Because tomorrow, I want you to know that despite what happens, I will do everything I can to save him. But you need to trust my actions and me. Understood?" she said.

There were looks of confusion on their faces, Gojo however was shaking with anticipation. "I can't wait to see it first hand!"
