Rocket and Groot's Big Score 2
Disclaimer- I own none of the recurring characters or the story, all rights belong to Marvel. This is my second story and I welcome any reviews and ideas. I am not promising to use the ideas but there is a chance if I like it and others agree.
Chapter 2- Planet X
Rocket landed his ship on the lush green and brown world of Planet X. The natives of Planet X where all undeveloped humanoid plant species with tough bark exteriors and the ability to grow or shrink their body parts as well as regenerate them. The natives were fairly friendly to all outsiders so long as they caused no trouble. Rocket was eager not to aggravate them as his laser cannon would have no impact due to the strong skin and lack of a nervous system.
Rocket decided instead of looking all around the planet for his target, (AN: also called the man for ease), he would find him using his computer. He plugged the tablet into his ship's computer after a bit of fiddling and disabling and reconnecting wires. This would have been extremely difficult if not impossible for most other beings but Rockets cybernetic enhancements gave him top notch engineering skills as well as piloting skills. The computer showed his target a mile away in what appeared to be a village just beyond a mangrove swamp. Rocket jumped off his ship climbed a tree and started making his way through the trees towards the village.
After about a half an hour he arrived at the village and dropped to the ground. The village was mainly deserted with only 4 or 5 Flora Colossus's, (AN: the humanoid plant natives). Rocket walked around looking for the target and eventually found him sitting in a corner of a tavern trying to not be seen. Rocket smirked this was going to be easy.
The man looked up from his lap when Rocket sat down opposite him. His eyes were full of fear and kept flickering to the door and windows as if figuring out his best way of escaping.
"Hello," Rocket said
The target didn't reply
"I have been ordered to bring you to your brother, ok. Please don't resist I am not in the mood to fight right now." Rocket continued.
Suddenly the man jumped up pushed Rocket backwards and ran for the door. Rocket sped after him. He jumped on the man just as he turned around and the 2 went crashing to the ground both pummelling each other, and they rolled around. The man eventually got a lucky shot in and Rocket fell down. The man pulled out a Dual Blaster and aimed it and Rocket's face.
"Oh Crap," Rocket groaned as the man smiled
"Don't even think of reaching for you Laser Cannon, my friend" The man chortled, "It will take too long to set up, "
Rocket new he was right, he silently cursed himself for letting his guard down. The man prepared to shoot and then was punched 5 feet into a wooden wall. Rocket stared as a Flora Colossus looked down at him and said
"I am Groot," with concern in its voice. Rocket stared then got up and ran over to where the target was laying groaning. The man had several broken ribs, a bloody face and a leg bent at an unnatural angel.
"Jeez," Rocket said, "You don't mess around, do you?"
He turned to address the Flora Colossus but was stunned to find it right behind him.
"Aahh!" He jumped in surprise before the creature leaned down and said,
"I am Groot,"
"Ok, Groot," Rocket said warily, "Do you think you could help me take this guy to my ship?"
Groot replied "I am Groot"
Rocket looked and then groaned, "Why am I stuck with the one humanoid species that doesn't speak properly?" He Sighed, "Ok Groot You. Are, Going, To, Pick, Up. This. Person. And. Follow. Me. Ok?" He said very slowly hoping Groot would understand.
Groot said, "I am Groot," but still picked up the target.
"Great!" Exclaimed Rocket, "Let's go!"
With Rocket walking in the trees and Groot lengthening his legs, so he was walking with more than 3/4 his body above the water, through the mangroves and back to the ship. However, there was a surprise waiting for them at the ship.
"Hands up and drop the man," said a nova officer pointing his gun at Rocket while his companion did the same to Groot.
"I am Groot?" Groot asked Rocket
"Yeah they don't like me," Rocket replied beginning to understand as Groot kept talking all the way through the mangroves.
"We are taking you in." The Nova officer interrupted. "Subject 89P13, you are wanted for stealing, assault and other law breaking. The Flora Colossus is wanted for aiding a criminal and a count of grievous bodily harm as I suspect he's almost killed that man."
"Good day," the other officer said to the first, "We get 3 criminals in our custody,"
"I agree," the first nova said, "Ok put the cuff on them and put them in your ship, I will tow theirs."
Rocket grumbled as he was cuffed but wasn't too worried, he escaped from prisons all the time. He Looked over at Groot with interest, it might be useful to have some muscle on certain jobs.
