Rocket and Groot's Big Score 3

Chapter 3- Prison Break
Rocket stood in the Nova Base on Xandar while a pudgy nova officer by the name of Raktup read out his rap sheet.
"Subject 89P13 aka Rocket," read out Raktup, "results of illegal cybernetic and genetic experiments on a lower life form, escaped from prisons 7 times and an extensive bounty tally with 40 confirmed kills."
Rocket growled as he was pushed out of the scanning machine and Groot was lead in.
Groots scan was a lot shorter with only his species and his 1 count of grievous bodily harm. They were both sent to one of the maximum-security prisons given that Rocket has escaped from most other Xandarian prisons.
They arrived at the prison named the box. It was very secure with only one way in or out which was separated by 7 reinforced steel doors each protected by several remotely activated laser guns and could only be opened by the main guard tower 20 feet above even Groot.
Rocket was chucked in after ben stripped of his clothes and making sure he had no concealed weapons. Groot was shoved in without any searching seeing as he was always nude, and they walked into the main chamber. Most people didn't look up, the few that did eyed Groot with curiosity as Flora Collosus's were very rare everywhere but Planet X. Rocket spotted a familiar face and moved towards him.
"Lucky those Nova officers showed up," he said in fairly neutral voice that conveyed that this in no way inconvenienced him.
The Target, (AN: from the previous chapter), looked at Rocket and replied,
"At least here you can't deliver me,"
"You think this prison can hold me?" Rocket asked smiling. I have broken out of 7 prisons by the end of the week you will be delivered and I will have my bounty,"
The Target paled considerably, he could tell Rocket was not bluffing and he knew none the prison guards would believe him.
Over the next few days Rocket kept scouting the prison looking for a way out often accompanied by Groot who helped him see paces high up. Rocket learnt that Groot could regrow his limbs and other parts of himself very quickly depending on the complexity of the part. If Groot created a sort of shield with his arm, he could recreate it so quickly bullets would make no headway. This was what Rocket needed to escape. The laser guns would not impact Groot allowing him to clear the way and once they get through with Groot creating a shield Rocket should be able to get a gun blasting their way to a ship.
Rocket explained the plan to Groot with Groot agreeing with an "I am Groot" only really learning the plan after the 5th time Rocket had explained it. Once it was time Rocket sent Groot to smash his way out while he threatened the Target and even went so far as to climb onto his head and nearly bite his nose off before the target ran behind him while they caught up with Groot. They found Groot in a stand-off with 5 prison guards shooting at Groot's shield with no impact. Groot gestured to the ground where an unconscious guard lay along with his Nova Machine Gun that Rocket picked up before climbing up Groot to get good shots of the guards which were all shot within 12 seconds. Rocket jumped off Groot and walked towards the ships while Groot grabbed the Target's leg and dragged him behind them. They gathered their clothes, and Rockets laser cannon then turned to the ship yard. Rocket spied his ship but decided to leave it when he saw a top of the line black Milano. Milanos were fast, had space for cargo and bounty as well as had good weapons, a perfect bounty hunter ship. They all got on and after knocking out the Target and attaching his hand to the celling so he couldn't attack, Rocket jumped into the pilot's seat and went diving though the closet jump point heading towards Skamt.
"This is going to be a good payday," He said to himself before looking back at Groot who was eating some leaves he grew on his hand. He though back to his prison stay. Groot would and had been very useful, he just wondered if Groot was smart enough for a bounty hunters' life.
