A couple of months after defeating The Betrayer, Lok and Sophie were at a Casterwill building training in Paris.
"You sure you want to do this, Lok?" asked Sophie as the two stood in a training room while stretching.
"Oh yeah, there's no one better to test my new spells out on than you," said Lok with a confidant smile.
"You might regret it, Boltflare!" said Sophie.
"Multi Spell," said Lok as he dodged the Boltflare.
"Hyperstride plus Nimblefire!" said Lok before vanishing from sight.
"A spell with a similar effect to Doublespell?" asked Sophie as she looked around, trying to locate where he had gone.
"Not exactly," said Lok as he reappeared behind her with a finger on the base of Sophie's neck.
"It adds the powers of the spells used at the same time and creates a new one from them entirely," said Lok.
"But a spell like that should cost the user a large amount of energy," said Sophie with a shocked expression while not moving a muscle.
"That's why I also learnt this spell, Naturegain!" said Lok. A green energy was then absorbed into him from thin air.
"You can turn the natural energy from the environment into your own?" asked Sophie who was even more shocked.
"Meaning I can keep fighting as long as I want," said Lok.
"That is cool," said Sophie.
"Madam Sophie, Dante has a mission," said LeBlanche as he walked into the room. The two then joined Dante, Den, and Zhalia in a briefing room.
"What's going on, Metz?" asked Lok as he appeared on the holotome.
"The Betrayer's mark has activated again," said Metz.
"How is that possible?" asked Sophie as everyone looked at him with terrified expressions.
"We don't know, but I want you five to go there and help the research team just in case anything else happens," said Metz.
"We'll head there right away," said Dante before hanging up.
