Chapter 33
Megumi was curious to the training Itadori was doing. So much so, he finished his lunch and decided to look for him.
Itadori was just outside, he was bouncing tennis balls of all things, yet kept cursing. "DAMN IT!" and kept bouncing the balls but was shouting in anger to it all.
"This… is training?" Megumi asked offhandedly.
Yuuji froze as he laughed. "Yeah," he said. "Sensei Gojo is trying to get my arms to act independently, so far the bottom ones mimic the top, so I can't properly control them…" he explained. "But the moment I learn this, he said he will teach me domain expansion!"
This caught him off guard, so soon? How could someone like Yuuji know domain expansion? Would he have enough power? Does he really possess that kind of curse energy? He didn't know, but for now, Yuuji was more focused on getting his arms to work properly.
The tennis balls were only frustrating him.
"You controlled them before, when Nobara and I were in danger, you caught the curses with both arms and they acted accordingly too… why can't you do it now?" he asked.
Itadori sighed. "I don't know either, perhaps it was just in the moment, I knew you guys needed help and it was the only thing I could do. Maybe I was just desperate enough and it clicked for a second…"
"Well, not only that, but your upper arms were full… holding back the curse beast."
There came a moment of inspiration. "That's it…" he whispered. "Megumi! Spar with me!"
A smirk came over him. "Okay," he said. "But I won't go easy on you."

They went to an open field, away from the buildings and various obstacles. Yuuji paused to it all and appeared to have second thoughts on the notion. "Is this… really a good idea, I mean… Gojo sensei and I have been training a lot and it's been more intense… I don't even know my power level yet."
"If it's any consolation to you, from what I sense, you are about as strong as the time I face Sukuna the first time." He explained. "I couldn't keep up with him, but I am sure I have gotten better since then, so it should be fine."
"If you think so, I'm ready when you are!" Itadori said and smiled as he rotated his shoulders. "I hope you and I get even more powerful together!"
Megumi however turned serious. 'He may not know his own power? How is that even possible?' he thought.
"Ready?" Itadori asked as he got into position.
"Whenever you are…"
GAH!
He barely blinked and was struck!
Megumi stumbled across the grass until he got to his feet and came to a grinding halt! He was over halfway down the field with one shot alone! "You okay?"
He jumped as Itadori was behind him!
"What the hell was that!"
"I… I hit you too hard didn't I…" Itadori suddenly was on the ground begging for forgiveness. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
"That was one strike…" he muttered. "How could you have gotten that strong in two months!" he demanded.
Yuuji picked himself off the ground, he was reluctant to explain his new power. "I… Uh… maybe should go back to the tennis balls…"
"Itadori…" he said in a firm and commanding tone. "What did you do to get stronger?" he demanded.
Yuuji was ashamed of himself.
"Itadori…"
"I can't tell you!" he shouted. "How can I explain myself, I have no way of explaining it to you without freaking you and everyone else out!"
He froze, but then he wondered if he got stronger by what he did to those curses that attacked them a while ago. But, how is he able to do it? How does that make him stronger? He was about to question it, until his body began to revolt. Megumi fell to his knees and suddenly threw up!
"Oh God, Megumi!"
"It's okay" he recovered shortly after, it was like he was struck again, in an aftershock from the first strike. 'Was that a delayed divergent fist? but how…'
"Oh, there you are!"
Gojo sensei appeared, but he looked down at Megumi oddly. "I should have warned you not to go up against him. He is still figuring out his strength." He explained. But then he turned to Yuuji. "Go finish your training"
"Yes sir!" with that Yuuji ran off and worked with the tennis balls once more.
Megumi was slow to get to his feet, but found Gojo sensei help him up. "What… what the hell was that?" he asked as he slowly recovered from the strike.
Gojo paused. "Hmmm, if I were to have to guess, it was about… four finger's worth of Sukuna's power… give or take, but he has no control over it yet. Which is why he and I spar, no one else."
"But that power…"
"Ah yes, slowly but surely it grows,"
He couldn't wrap his head around it, Yuuji Itadori, is getting stronger by the day…

By dusk, Megumi found Yuuji back at the dorm. He was eating dinner but appeared to be not too happy with the events of the day. "I still can't get them to work!" he protested. "What the hell is wrong with me, this should be easy!"
Megumi walked in and saw his friend was frustrated, it was understandable, so was he after today. But he didn't say a word about it, instead he sought out some dinner and tried to think of what to say. The two were fell into an awkward silence to each other.
"You two have a fight or something?" Nobara asked as she strolled into the kitchen.
"I can't get my other arms to work properly." Yuuji muttered.
"Have you tried tying them up?" she asked.
"What?" they muttered.
She rolled her eyes as she left the room and came back with rope, from there, she tied Yuuji's dominate arms behind his back. "Now, use the other ones," she demanded.
He froze to her training suggestion, but he tried it out. Staring at the lower arms, he tried to get them to move, but they hesitated. "What the hell, come on…" he muttered.
"Why do you think that will work?" Megumi whispered.
She shrugged but grabbed a fork and took some food off of Yuuji's plate! "HEY!"
"Stop me," she demanded and continued to eat his dinner.
"But… that's my dinner!" he said in a childish tone.
It was frustrating for him as he tried to get them to work, he was getting upset since his dinner was vanishing before his eyes. Until the plate was empty.
"My pork cutlet…" he sighed and fell face first into the table.
She merely smiled to him. "Thank you for the food!" she said in a teasing tone. Her fork left on the table as she strolled out of the room.
Megumi was impressed to her though; he followed her out and said. "That was a good idea, what made you think of it?"
"Huh? Oh, well… I didn't want to cook tonight and figured this was the best way to get dinner," she said with a grin.
Megumi gave her too much credit…
