Twice The Joy

"I don't know about you guys, but I'm actually kind of glad Christmas is over," Rachel said as she stood on Bouncer's shoulders to grab some garland down from the ceiling beams and hand it down to Swarm, who was helping them gather it together and giving it to the Mabu who were putting it in the totes to be put away.

"It was a bit difficult on Earth with all that was going on, huh?" Bouncer asked, his hands grasping the young woman's lower legs to help her stay steady on his shoulders.

"Yeah," she said, grabbing some more garland. "Hopefully the new year will be better. Magna Charge said he's going to take me somewhere special for Valentine's Day."

She smiled as she said this and heard her giant Skylander partner chuckle. "You can tell you got bit hard by the love bug," he said teasingly before he gave her calves a playful squeeze, making her yelp and nearly tip over backwards, but Eye Brawl, who was nearby, quickly disconnected his eye from his shoulders and braced his eye against her back, helping her regain her balance and she took a deep breath before sending down a playful glare at her partner.

"Oh? Like you weren't bit hard by the love bug when you first laid eyes on Ninjini?" She asked, now smirking.

Bouncer turned a little red, but chuckled. "You got me," he said as he saw her get the last bit of garland and hand it to Swarm. She then lowered herself down to sit on the robot's shoulders and he let go of her lower legs before reaching up and bracing his hands on Rachel's waist, keeping her secure until she was sitting securely on his shoulders.

Ninjini came up to them with the mistletoe in her hand and a smile. "I think us three and Magna Charge all got bit by the love bug," she said as Eye Brawl helped Rachel down from Bouncer's shoulders. Seeing this, the magical genie leaned forward and kissed her boyfriend, who chuckled and wrapped his arms around her, surprising her by gently pulling her into a dancing dip and deepening the kiss.

Flare, seeing them as she came in, giggled at the sight. "You guys are as silly as Mommy and Daddy," she said.

Rachel chuckled. "Silly in love, yes," she said before turning to see Astrid come in along with Viola before Blaze and Roller Brawl came in, the former holding his youngest daughter Azula while the latter was taking some deep breaths and had both hands on her stomach, which was quite round with her pregnancy.

"Roller? Are you okay?" Eye Brawl asked his fellow Undead Skylander.

She nodded. "I'm okay," she said before wincing and panting a little. "Ow. Sweetie, not so hard."

Rachel at once went up to her. "They're really kicking?" She asked.

Blaze nodded. "They've been kicking harder since yesterday," he said.

Flare looked excited. "Does that mean our sisters will be born soon?" She asked hopefully.

"Well, Mags did say either Christmas or New Years," Roller said before she gasped again, the pain a bit sharper now.

"Roller, I think you might be going into labor, hon," Rachel said.

The skater was breathing hard, biting her lip. "I think...you might be right," she said. "But...it's so sudden."

Eye Brawl came up to them and looked at Blaze. "Blaze, do you trust me to carry your wife to Mags' lab?" He asked.

The Fire/Undead/Water Portal Master nodded, knowing that the giant would be careful. "We'll be right behind you," he said before giving his wife a kiss. "Hang in there, my beautiful rose."

She nodded and felt the Undead Giant gently pick her up and cradle her like a newborn baby before he moved swiftly, taking care not to jar his friend.

Flare looked worried. "Aunty Rachel, is Mommy going to be okay?" She asked.

"She will be, sweetie," the Tech/Fire Portal Master said, picking up her oldest niece. "Come on. Let's get to Mags' lab."

Swarm scooped up Viola, who giggled and Ninjini picked up Astrid before gasping in surprise as Bouncer scooped her up bridal style in his arms. Astrid giggled at this and the genie looked at her lover. "Oh, you," she said before giving him a chaste kiss that he returned and they headed for Mags' lab.

When they arrived, Mags was already working to get Roller stabilized and ready to give birth. "Rachel, I'm going to need some help," she said, seeing the young woman. "Blaze, your wife needs you."

Both nodded and Rachel handed Flare to Bouncer, who had set Ninjini down when they had arrived. Nodding, he accepted Flare from her while Eye Brawl accepted Azula from Blaze. "We'll keep an eye on the munchkins for you and Roller," the Undead Giant promised before heading out.

Roller was breathing deeply and Blaze was beside her in an instant, taking her hand. "I'm here, Roller," he said.

She smiled at him, grasping his hand before groaning. "Mags, it really hurts," she whimpered out.

Rachel looked worried. "Complications?" She asked, hoping not.

"Let's take a look," Mags said calmly before doing an ultrasound and she chuckled. "It seems the girls are fighting over who gets to be born first."

Blaze shook his head before placing his face near his wife's stomach. "Shh," he soothed. "Girls, settle down."

Mags gasped as she saw the babies at once calm down and she smiled. "Looks like they already know their daddy's voice," she said, keeping an eye on the ultrasound while Rachel got ready to catch the babies. "Okay, Roller, how are you feeling?"

The vampire skater panted. "Okay, but in pain," she said.

"I think the contractions are really close, Mags," the Tech/Fire Portal Master said.

The inventor nodded. "Then this will most likely be a quick birth," she said. "Rach?"

The young woman checked on something and then nodded. "She's ready," she said. "Roller, you can start pushing."

Taking a deep breath, the young mother did just that. Having been through this before, she knew what to do, but the pain was a bit more unbearable this time since she was about to give birth to twins. "You can do it, my beautiful rose," Blaze said encouragingly.

"Let's get the little ones into the world and then give you something for the pain," said Mags kindly.

Nodding, the Undead skater pushed again. "One more big push ought to do it for this one," Rachel said as she saw the baby was halfway out. Her hands cradled the little one carefully and Mags was right underneath her with a towel to accept the baby.

Moments later, the first girl was crying as she entered the world and seconds later, her sister entered the world, also letting out a healthy cry. Both Rachel and Mags got them cleaned up and took the measurements before bringing the two little ones over to their parents. "Congratulations," the inventor said with a smile. "Two healthy little girls."

"The one in the white beanie was born first and the one with the purple beanie was born just a few seconds later," Rachel said.

Roller Brawl smiled as she accepted the two babies and Blaze sat beside her proudly. Mags brought over some medicine to help with the skater's pain and she gratefully took it, feeling better moments later as her husband took the infant with the white beanie in his arms, holding her with a smile.

The giants came in with the four young girls and Flare squealed excitedly, as did Viola and Astrid while Azula clapped her hands happily. "Looks like four little ones are excited to have two new little sisters," Blaze said with a chuckle.

"Yeah!" Flare said happily before clapping her hands to her mouth. "Oops, sorry," she whispered, remembering that there was no shouting in Mags' lab.

Mags chuckled. "It's okay, sweetie," she said, knowing that it was an exciting time for the girls.

Astrid came closer. "What are their names, Daddy?" She asked.

He smiled and looked at his wife, who smiled back. "Daddy is holding Luna and Mommy is holding Violet," she said.

"Luna and Violet," Rachel repeated, smiling. "It suits them."

Blaze smiled and looked at his wife. "Twice the joy to end the old year and to go into the new year," he said. "You've made me the luckiest and happiest man alive, my beautiful rose."

She smiled at him. "And you've made me the luckiest and happiest mother alive for us to have six children," she said.

Their three older girls giggled happily while Azula gave a happy coo. The giants smiled, as did Rachel and Mags because what Blaze had said was true.

It had been a hard year, but the two new little ones were a sign of hope and that the next year would hopefully be a good one.
