A/N: Yayy! Finally one of my personal favorite ships! And yes I know some people may think its weird because Patton calls Virgil kiddo but he's not actually Virgil's Dad therefore it's not incest. I've been thinking of writing smut since it's one-shots but i don't even know. Anyway, this is a Moxiety moment one-shot! Hope you enjoy!
Virgil's Birthday-Moxiety
Patton woke up on January 21st, looking around for the calendar and squealing when he realized what day it was.
His crush, Virgil, had a birthday today. Ok, so Patton wasn't supposed to know but when it came to the sweet little anxious baby he couldn't help himself.
Patton sat down on his bed, taking the scarf and matching gloves he was making out of his drawer, finishing up on the gloves since they were the last things to do.
The Moral trait knew that Virgil was always cold, hence why he wears his hoodie all of the time, and it being January, Patton thought this would be easier.
Patton smiles, puts everything into a purple wrapped box with black ribbon, and hides his gift where Virgil would never look-behind the Disney movies other than Black Cauldron, before setting to work on making the cake.
Virgil may not look like it, but he loved sweet things, and Patton knew it.
The only problem with baking a cake is that his wrist was hurting from all the crocheting, and he was too embarrassed to ask Roman to make him a mixer.
So, Patton mixed all of the ingredients by hand, wincing in pain as the spatula clanged against the bowl.
Little did Patton know, a certain anxious side was watching Patton the whole time he was baking, noticing Patton's discomfort straightaway.
"Patton? What's wrong? Are you hurt?!" Virgil's worried voice broke both sides out of their thoughts, the purple-clad side rushing toward Patton to help.
"V-Virge! I'm fine, don't worry about me! Just having trouble mixing the ingredients!" Patton was hoping that Deceit was too preoccupied to notice the blatant lie.
"Patton, if you don't tell me I'll figure it out." Virgil warns, stepping closer to the other side.
"Why do you want to know?" Patton's fumbling, he can't tell Virgil why because then he'd have to mention the gift.
"I want to know because I care, Patton. You look after everyone else instead of putting yourself first and you could seriously be hurt right now." Virgil gently takes Patton's injured hand.
Patton winces again, yanking his hand back only for it to hurt more.
"Patton, what happened to your wrist?" Virgil blocks Patton against the counter, knowing the other can't go anywhere.
Sure, since they're in the mindscape, Patton could just phase out and get away from Virgil.
Only, Virgil was so close and Patton didn't know if he'd get this change again...
"Fine, I'll tell you. I remembered it was your birthday, so I made you something by hand. I'm making your cake now, actually." Patton's face is red, he can tell.
"That's it? Patton, the way you were holding your wrist I thought you fell down the stairs again!" Virgil hugs the other out of relief, jumping quickly back afterwards.
Patton slips the mixed ingredients, which were thankfully done getting mixed as Virgil showed up, into the oven before materializing Virgil's present.
"Here. I know you don't like birthdays, especially your own, but I wanted to say Happy Birthday." Patton hands Virgil the wrapped box, a smile on his face.
Virgil unwraps it, finding the scarf and gloves inside, his mouth dropping open.
"Patton, you made these?" Virgil asks, taking each item out of the box.
"You're always cold, so I thought it might help." Patton explains, turning to the now frosted cake that he did with a snap of his fingers, this is the mindscape after all.
Virgil looks between Patton and the cake, cutting one slice and popping a bit into Patton's mouth.
Patton grins, laughing a little after the cake is gone.
"You have some frosting on your lip." Virgil smirks, putting a thumb under Patton's chin.
Patton ignores his racing heart, fighting not to get out of the other's grip.
"Want me to get it?" Virgil hopes he won't lose his nerve at the last minute, but consent is important, even for kissing.
Patton nods, not trusting his voice, and puts his hands on Virgil's shoulders.
Virgil closes the gap, sealing their lips and not hearing the snap of a camera as he kisses Patton.
And when Virgil finds a picture of him and Patton under his door with the words Happy Birthday, Emo Nightmare on it, Virgil pockets the picture, and says nothing.
