Orpheus Lero
District 11, Male, 18
Orpheus sat up in bed, yawning, and picking crust from his piercing blue eyes. Most in District 11 would know those eyes, the ones a lot of them had gone to bed with for a fair price. Many of them were disappointed when he had stopped prostituting but he doesn't mind, his life is still decent and worth living to his full extent.
He quickly pulls on some underwear and heads out the door of the Peacekeeper's room whom he had been staying with starting when he had caught him in the drug trade. He had taken him in as a spy of some sort. He was well cared for, fed, and had nightly fun every so often.
He digs in his wardrobe for something he could wear, eventually picking out a black blazer, buttoned white-shirt, and black tie and checks his hair in a mirror hanging above his bed, per usual it's in his natural black curls.
"Orpheus." A man shouts as Orpheus comes down the stairs. A smart and sharp intelligent man sits on an oak table in the center of a large dining room. Carlyle and he had a confusing relationship, one built upon lust and work, mostly. His best friend with benefits in a way.
"Yes?" He asks pulling out a chair and taking a seat opposite him. He doesn't stop to chitter-chatter and digs right into his bacon and eggs. Ever since the orphanage, he has appreciated food.
"Ready for today?" He asks quizzically and Orpheus chuckles.
"Per usual." He murmurs just loud enough for Carlyle to hear him. Then he shrugs and carries on eating his eggs.
"Speaking of that, I have some guys that have been reported for supposed drug dealing. I'd like you to see what information you can find. Your colleague should know where they are." He sighs. By 'your colleague', he meant Orpheus' friend, Kenzar. Kenzar was the guy who introduced him to the drug ring and was a fellow prostitute during Orpheus' prime.
"Understood, Boss." He remarks as he clears his plate off, placing it neatly in the dishwasher. "Now, I suppose I'll be off now. I don't want to keep Kenzar waiting." He says as he nabs his keys to the house in the basket by the front door, Orpheus shuts the front door behind him and hears the satisfying click as he locks it. He stores his keys in his blazer pocket and begins his walk over to him and Kenzar's usual meeting spot.
He ended up in the alleyway where they usually meet before walking with each other to the prime drug spot. To Orpheus' surprise, nobody was leaning on the brick wall next to the dumpster. It was strange, normally he arrived a little earlier than Orpheus as Orpheus always made sure to be there at 8 am sharp. He walks through the alleyway and swerves around the dumpster to chuckle a little as he looks through the opposite side, there Kenzar stands arguing with a lady that has a basket of raspberry tarts, in Kenzar's hand also holds a raspberry tart.
Orpheus takes a little money from his blazer pocket and interrupts their argument.
"Sorry for the inconvenience ma'am, I had my friend hold onto a tart, therefore I could go home and get some money." He hands over a couple of dollars and she smiles sweetly, thanking him and apologizing for the mistake. She then left with her basket in hand as Kenzar gobbled up his tart.
"Thanks, man, I was starving and they just looked so good..."
"You owe me one. How about the whereabouts of the new guys in town? I hear they have good prices and I could make some real profit." He says, again smoothly lying to his friend. Kenzar didn't know about Carlyle, in fact, he had no idea he was being used by Orpheus to gain information. Of course, Orpheus still saw him as a sort of friend but that didn't mean he could use him for only friendship.
"Yeah, I'll lead the way." He wipes his mouth, covered in breadcrumbs, and begins the half-hour walk to the drug ring, where they would most likely find the 2 guys. Orpheus following beside him.
A/N: Okay, so a lot of you have already seen this so I thought I may as well post it. Thanks timesphobic for him, I really enjoyed writing the chapter. I have another one stockpiled so I'll get that one out when I feel prepared!
Leave a review if you can, it really helps!
