Gordon wasn't meant to be caught in the portal's blast, no G man hadn't thought of what might happen if he didn't save him in time. Now he had to tell his employers about his failure, and he was not ready for that.

Gordon opened his eyes to find himself in some sort of tube. He tried to breath in but was met with a foul tasting liquid. He held his breath and looked around. He saw a young boy huddled in what appeared to be a weird type of seat. The Boy was dressed in some sort of rubber suit. He swam over to the boy and tried shaking him awake. The boy awoke and was startled by Gordon's appearance here. The boy began to speak to him, but Gordon didn't understand. He gave a puzzled look and the boy picked that up. But Gordon couldn't hold his breath anymore, the boy saw this and spoke in an accented English. "Its OK you can breathe in this Liquid" Gordon didn't have much of a choice here. He let go off his breath and breathed in the slimy substance. He was then pleasantly surprised that he could breathe. The boy gave a weak smile. "See, I told you…" The boy quickly passed out. Gordon quickly checked his pulse and found that he was barely beating. Looking around Gordon didn't find anything that could help. But he noticed a blue light behind him. He reached for the light and found a familiar friend. His trusty Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator, Or gravity gun as he called it. "Hey Kid, can you hear me? Im going to try and find a way out of here!" He swam around for a bit, Before noticing that the liquid he was in was getting murky and cold. "Im guessing this tube's life support gave out…" He turned to his right and saw the outline of a hatch and its handles. He thought for a minute that he could open it, but pushed it aside as he didn't know if they were in a vacuum of some sort.

After a bit of waiting and planning. He felt the tube shake rather violently and heard a massive roar. "What the hell am I in?…" He thought to himself that this could be a job from the suited man, but then realized that he would've be told this. After a few minute the rumbling stopped, only to be followed by the tube to spin and move. He readied his Gravity gun. He then heard the sound of people talking, albeit in a different language which he deducted to be Asian. Has the Asian countries repelled the combine? He didn't want to take his chances with the combine, so he aimed at the hatch. He fired the Repel trigger and watched the hatch blow from its spot. The liquid drained quickly and he soon coughed it up. He opened his eyes to see people in uniforms and a purple haired women with the most confused look. Some people there looked like medics, so he assumed they were there to rescue the boy. He lowered the GG and rushed over to the unconscious boy, picked him up and brought him over to the hatch. "He has Hypothermia and his heart rate is slowed!" The purple haired women quickly took the boy and held him. She spoke to the boy in a worried voice. "Shinji!" She cried out, trying to wake him up. Gordon remembered he had a First aid syringe in his left arm trunk. He took it out and brought it to the boy only to have the women glare at him. "Its OK, this is medicine to help him." She looked hesitant but slowly set the boy down to allow Gordon to inject him. He cleaned a spot on his skin and slowly injected the boy with the green solution. After a few seconds, the boy, who he assumed was Shinji, awoke coughing up the orange fluid. The women yelped in happiness as she hugged Shinji tightly. She turned to Gordon and smiled "Thank you!" He was about to reply but was interrupted by the sounds of guns cocking. Out of instinct, He grabbed his Gravity gun and held it at the ready. He soon got a better look around, as he saw that he was in a city of some sort. "I don't think I'm in City 17 anymore…"

Just then A blonde women came rushing over to the purple haired one. "I mean no harm! I just appeared here after the citadel exploded. My Name Is Gordon Freeman, and I'm known as The Freeman by the resistance. Can you tell me how to get back to City 17?" The Blonde women looked confused at his statement. "There is no City 17 here, You are in Tokyo III." Gordon did not expect that, No he really didn't. "Did the Combine destroy Tokyo?" The soldiers all gave a confused look and so did the two women. "Who are the Combine?" This was the final nail in the coffin. He was not in his world anymore. The blonde women then got a call, which she answered. She then told the other soldiers to stand down. "I want you to come with me Mr Freeman, just put the object down." Slowly Gordon complied, But as soon as he did, he coughed up something red and iron tasting. And Lo and Behold, his suit began to speak. "Warning: Internal Bleeding Detected, Seek Medical Attention." Of course it had to been now. "I don't suppose you have any First Aid Kits?." The adrenaline was running out and so was his consciousness. The Last thing he saw before slipping into darkness was the blonde rushing over with a few medics.

"Dr...Man…. Dr Freeman… Dr Freeman can you hear me?" Gordon's eyes fluttered open to see he was in an unfamiliar room surrounded by unfamiliar people, Unfamiliar people in hazmat suits. He looked over to see the Blonde haired women from earlier. "Mr Freeman I need you to tell me how you got in there." Gordon really did not know if he should tell them, as they could be combine in disguise. "How can I trust that you aren't combine?" His voice was rough and scratchy, as if he hasn't used it in a while. "We could also say the say if you are not an Angel." An Angel? Aren't those supposed to be something good? Why would they ask me if I'm an angel? "Just then a technician said something to her, which made her sigh a breath of relief. His memory came flooding back as he remembered what happened. "Is that boy OK?" The women looked surprised to hear him ask that. She then took off her helmet and sighed. "He is OK, and so are you. You have just been cleared of Angelic Contamination. From one Doctor to the other, I'm sure hearing that you aren't contaminated is a good thing." Gordon's tenseness did not ease. "Who are you?…" He asked, hoping to get some clues as to who these people are. "Dr Ritsuko Akagi, Head Scientist of Special Agency NERV, That boy you saved, is our greatest asset and our only hope of defeating the angels. And guessing from your language, you are an American. You're pretty far from America, as you are in Tokyo III Japan." His mind couldn't comprehend this. Sure Aliens from a different dimension he could handle, but this, nah. "If I'm in Japan, How are you speaking Perfect English?" She sighed. "We are part of the UN, and they require their employees to speak at least a decent amount of English." Right that makes sense, but now that I think about it, there was no agency called NERV in the UN that was from my world. "I guess that makes sense… But I need to get back home. I have to help the resistance out with overthrowing the combine." Gordon's expression soured at the thought of all his friends dying without him. "You speak of this 'Combine' as if it was an enemy, what are they?" Ritsuko asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice. Gordon sighed as he explained everything that happened to him and the others. Her face not changing expressions until he heard about them Traveling dimensions. She took note of the types of technology he gave example of, mostly to see if she can replicate it later. Ritsuko then received a notification on her datapad. She grimaced for a moment but quickly returned to normal. "I have to go to a meeting, ill be back in time later for your… discharge…"

Ritsuko knew what was going to happen, but she had a good feeling that she should avoid the likely outcome. She soon reached a vast and almost empty office with two men at a desk. The one standing was Kozo Fuyutsuki, the Sub-commander of NERV HQ. And the man at the desk with his hands folded she knew too well, Gendo Ikari; Commander Of NERV HQ and the awful father of Shinji Ikari. "Your report on this outsider?" Gendo said, not moving an inch to appear intimidating. "He has awakened and is cleared of Angelic Contamination, He seems to no be aware of the global crisis. He may indeed come from another world altogether." She said, hoping he wouldn't be disposed of, she could certainly use another scientist, and someone to explain his gear. "Good, I'm placing him under your care, he is to an assistant to you. We could certainly use an outsider with our scenario. However SEELE won't let him be, so until I explain the situation to the old men, he is to not leave the Geo Front." Ritsuko was certainly shocked at his orders. It has been two weeks since the battle with the Twelfth Angel, Gendo must have had time to think about this. "That is all." And that's all that needed to be said here. She then turned to leave but was stopped. "Tonight at 9pm, my quarters." She nodded at the request. As she left Fuyutsuki rolled his eyes at his former student's control over the poor women.

As she walked back over to the hospital, she was stopped by the Gendo's depressive son: Shinji. "Dr Akagi, is Gordon OK?" He asked, with a look of worry. Ritsuko thought for a moment if she should even involve Shinji with him, but went with it. "He is awake now, and appears he has been though a lot before this. When we got him out of that suit, we found scars, and multiple burns, lacerations, and bullet wounds. We had to keep him in a medical coma to let his wounds heal." Shinji looked even more worried. "Don't worry, we patched him all up. And in a few hours he'll be checked to see if he can be discharged." This might be a good thing for Shinji. Poor kid, he is more worried about a stranger than himself… Well said stranger saved him, but… Eh… I guess I'd be worried about the man who saves me… Shinji appeared to calm down a little, but not that much. "How about I take you to him?" Shinji's eyes lit up at that. He nodded, and so she walked with him to the hospital. "Did you ever figure out how his device works?" Ritsuko shook her head. "We haven't found a way to safely open it, and I doubt we will, and as for the suit, its pretty advanced, even better than the life support in your plug suit. It has a large supply of morphine, reactive armor, and some clever storage for ammunition…" Shinji pretended to be interested. They soon reached the hospital and the room Gordon is in.
