Hello readers! I am in the middle of making a fan fiction called "Heron's Wings." I would recommend reading that fan fiction first, because this is a story about one of the characters from that story. This is told from Ella's point of view on the dreams she has where she meets up with Heron. There is also going to be a little more on Heron and Ella's childhood and their growing friendship. One of my favorite characters in Heron's Wings is Cole, Ella's father, because his personality and actions are based off of one of my best friends. Because of that I will be making more stories about their family and their own adventures.

I also will be continuing Heron's Wings. This is just a side story and it will bounce all over the place. It will only make sense if you read Heron's Wings.

And I'm also going to be writing over Christmas break.

Okay hope you enjoy it!

This first chapter is a little short.

The world was dark or inky or… something.

Ella couldn't understand what this new world was. She should have been terrified. Scared of this possibly dangerous planet. Was it a planet? Where was she? She was wearing her armor. Well, most of her armor. Her helmet was missing.

"Hello?" she called.
No answer.

How could Ella have ended up in such a place? There was nothing. Memories came back to her of the covert. Her room.

"Ah. I'm dreaming," she thought.

This dream wasnt like any normal one though. Normally she would have ended up in a busy market or a port. Her face was always exposed and in every dream she was forced to walk through the crowds without her helmet. She would always wake up terrified and then quickly realize that she was fine.

Suddenly she heard something. Footsteps. Something inside of her told her that this was not just an illusion of the brain. This was real. Then in the distance she saw someone. Not just someone. A mandalorian. Without their helmet. Ella quickly knew who it was. The floppy hair and nervous walk gave it away. Heron.

"Heron!" she exclaimed.

"Ella?" he asked, clearly confused, "I haven't seen your face since we were six!"

Ella suddenly felt odd, maybe scared.

"Whoa, I didn't expect you to actually respond."

"Um, what?"

"People don't normally respond to me in my dreams."

"Wait, so you're dreaming?"

"Well yeah. It's the middle of the night on Nevarro."

Ella suddenly felt all the color drain from her face. Was this actually real? Is this what his face actually looked like after years of being hidden from her eyes? If this is real, then are they breaking the code by seeing each other's faces?

"Wait," she said, "Are we actually talking to each other… or is this just part of my dream?"

"That's what I'm wondering."

"Y-you're asleep right?"

"I guess you could say that."

"What's going on?"

"I don't know."

"This must all be fake. This is just another part of my dream."

Ella suddenly and quickly fell into a panic attack. This rarely happened. But when it did, it got bad. The world spun and she was awake.

Ella sat up gasping for air, sweat pouring down her face. It took awhile but she finally calmed down again. She grabbed her blanket and went out into a small room that was both a cooking unit and a dining room. Her father sat at the table reading an old book with dusty pages. He slowly looked up when she entered.

"You alright sweetie?" He asked. "You were talking in your sleep."

His voice wasn't very intimidating and never had been.

"I'm fine, dad," Ella told him.

Ella sat down next to him and tried to clear all the thoughts rushing through her head. No. It was just a nightmare. She didn't break the creed. Did she? No. She hadn't seen Heron's face in years. So she couldn't be sure if that's what he really looked like.

No. It was just a dream. No. It was just a trick. No. No. NO.

Maybe.

Thank you so much for reading! I know this isn't very much but I plan on adding more. It's really great to hear feedback on how I can make my fan fiction better. I know that it doesn't seem like a lot but hearing feedback and understanding how I can change my stories, really means a lot.

Thank you!
