(We follow Steven in this chapter)

(WARNING) Mild Gore? Idk what I would call it.

Steven had been driving for three hours since he left the restaurant and he was coming up on a large sign in the shape of Oregon. He pulled over next to the big "Welcome To Oregon!" sign and took a selfie. He got back in the car and sent the picture to Connie and his dad. He turned on his GPS and put it on it's stand.

He turned the radio up as he pulled out into the road, he flipped through the stations before he came upon the Classic 80's station. The song "Don't Start Unbelieving" was playing. Steven began lightly drumming his fingers against the steering wheel, and tapped his foot to the music. He enjoyed the sights out the window, but after days of non-stop driving, he felt bored. He continued to drive but when he saw a sign that said "Upside down house!" He decided he had to check it out.

Steven pulled into the parking lot in front of the strange house that was, indeed, upside down. He bought a ticket and slipped on some weird, velcro, sandals onto his feet over his sneakers. He stood in the large loop that spun him upside down, and he walked across the pathway into the house. He entered the gift shop and looked around. He saw some funny items, all featuring the house. He glanced into the other rooms, but decided to pick an item to buy and leave because he felt dizzy. He chose a pair of knee-high socks that had the upside down house on the side, and on the toes it said "I Survived the Crazy House!".

Steven looked around and realized that the cashier must be outside, standing right side up. He left the house and felt very relieved to be standing normal again. He went to the place he bought his ticket to return his shoes and buy the socks.

"Your total is $13.39!" The cashier said in a peppy voice "Would you like this in a plastic bag?"

"Uh, I think I'll skip on the bag, I can just throw them in my car." Steven smiled as the cashier handed them back.

"Well, if you're on a road trip you can use the bag as a trash bag." The girl stated knowingly.

"I try to use as little plastic as I can, so I'll pass." Steven received his change and walked back to his car. He put the socks neatly in his bag, he liked keeping the Dundi neat and orderly. He kept going down the road and no more than an hour later he stopped again to take a selfie next to a giant ball of yarn. There was a tip box, so he put a 5 dollar bill in the little cubby to be kind, but didn't want to enter the gift shop.

Steven got in his car and noticed that he had very little gasoline left in the tank, so he drove down the road a bit before he reached a gas station, he had to go inside to pay. He swung the door open and it chimed a little ring. He wandered the small store a bit, grabbed a bottled smoothie and strode up to the counter to pay for the drink and the gas. The person working the desk had shaggy hair and barely looked up at Steven. The man took Steven's money and made the exchange without saying a word, leaving Steven standing awkwardly, tapping his fingers against the counter.

After he got his change, Steven hurried out of the store and let out a puff of air. He was thankful that the weird experience was over, and he crawled into his car. He decided that he would drive as late as he could to make up for lost time earlier today. As he drove, he thought over his plan for tomorrow in his head to keep himself entertained. Tomorrow was Tuesday, so he had his appointment in the morning, then he was supposed to reach a small ocean town called "Salty Beach" late tomorrow night. The name of that town always made his chuckle.

He drove for a couple more hours, he had finished his smoothie and didn't feel like stopping for food, because he wasn't that hungry. He was rather tired and his eyelids felt heavy.

"I'll find somewhere to park in the next town." Steven said to himself. Two minutes later he passed a sign that said "Welcome to Gravity Falls" The sign looked like it needed a new paint job because the current paint was cracking and flaking off. He passed through the town without stopping because he got weird, creepy vibes, and there was not a soul around. A couple miles down the road was a sign that said "Mystery Shack", but it led down a dark road into the woods.

Steven slowed down and considered going down the path, when he heard a noise that sent shivers up his spine. It sounded like a snarling beast and he swung his head from the path to the road ahead of him and a huge monster was frozen in his headlights. It was green with huge bottom teeth that nearly poked his red eyes. Steven slammed on his breaks, and locked eyes with the thing. When he did it's eyes glowed yellow and Steven was locked in a trance.

He was standing in Whites head, and she was looming over him. Volleyball stood in a strange position, all of her color drain. He looked around horrified. He felt the car hit something, but he didn't see anything but the stark, white room. He turned around and saw Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, drained of their color, blue and yellow too. Pearl was holding Connie and she let out a cry that he couldn't hear. He felt the car roll, but all he saw was White's hand clasping around him. She lifted him up and held Steven to her face. Her long sharp nails extend towards his gem.

Then, everything went black.
