Sorry for such a wait! For starters, this chapter is like, three pages long. Also I was watching the new season of She-ra, and then I rewatched the whole show. She I've been busy with that, and school I guess, but I've kinda given up on that.
(In this chapter we follow Mabel and Dipper)
(Again very mild gore)
Dipper had been thinking of what to put in his journal for a while, but couldn't come up with anything. What else is there to find? Dipper thought to himself, Well, the things that fascinate me the most are the creatures… I could conduct my own studies. Start fresh! Mabel's giggling pulled him from his thoughts, she was pointing at his face and laughing. Dipper had chewed on his pen too much and it left ink stains on his lips.
"Nice black lipstick!" Mabbel's giggling had turned into full on laughter. Dipper tried to wipe it off, but it left a stain. He groaned in frustration. It was almost time for lunch which meant Grunkle Stan would tease him for it. Whatever, the stain wouldn't last forever.
"Mabel, do you have makeup remover that might get this off?"
"That depends, can I give you a makeover soon?" Mabel grinned from ear to ear and batted her eyelids innocently.
"Uhg, fine." Dipper groaned. Mabel squealed and pulled open the top drawer of her nightstand. She grabbed a couple cotton balls and a bottle of makeup remover. Mabel was almost fully unpacked, while Dipper had barely started. The only thing he had unpacked was the pen that leaked all over his face. Mabel gently poured the solution onto the cotton ball and gave it to Dipper. To his delight most of it came off, the only smudge left was on his skin above his lip.
"I can fix that too!" Mabel said matter-of-factly. She grabbed a small bottle of liquid concealer, and before Dipper could say anything she smudged some on his face.
"Just even it out, it's pretty strong, so you should be able to cover up that little splotchy spot!" Mabel snickered, "I'm going down for lunch." Mabel skipped across the room and out the door. Dipper stood in front of the mirror hung from the inside of the closet and spread the weird cream on. It covered up the spot decently for now. He padded down the stairs. As he reached the bottom of the stairs he heard pounding on the door. "Who could that be?" Dipper thought, turning towards the source of the noise. Then he remembered who was supposed to arrive today.
"Soos!" Dipper flung the door open and was immediately tackled in a tight, constricting hug. Mabel ran across the floor and flung herself into the pile.
"SOOS!" Mabel screamed.
"Sup dude's?" Soos laughed. Mabel led him into the kitchen and Dipper trailed closely behind. They all sat around the ricity table to eat. They ate, and afterwards they all sat around watching tv. Stan sat on the chair, Mabel sat on the arm of the chair while Dipper, Wendy, and Soos sat on the floor. Ford had gone down to his lab because he had "important things to do", but what could be more important than Tiger Fist?
After eating a light dinner, the young twins went up to their room. Mabel went to the bathroom to get in her pj's and brush her teeth. Dipper quickly changed and set his clothes aside. Over the school year, Mabel's fashion sense hadn't really changed, Dipper however stopped wearing vests. He only wore t-shirts now, before he had worn a vest with his outfit to make himself feel bigger and appear to have wide, strong shoulders. He had now become more comfortable with who he was, thanks to the help of Mabel.
Mabel ran into the room and jumped onto her bed.
"You gonna write in your DiArY tonight?" Mabel said in a teasing tone.
"No," Dipper sighed "I haven't done any of my own research, and I want something NEW to write about."
"Eh, I wouldn't worry about it, we've been here for like 9 hours. We'll go out and look for something tomorrow!" Mabel leaned over her bed to place a kiss on Waddles head. "Good night Waddles!, night Dipper!"
"Night." Dipper couldn't sleep. He checked the clock on his night stand and it said that it was 1:00am. He had been staring at a blank page in his new journal for a couple hours, letting his mind wander.
"Mabel?" Dipper doubted she was awake, but he was bored.
"Oh my gosh! You're still awake!? Me too, but I didn't want to wake you up. I'm too excited to sleep! I want to go exploring NOW!" To Dipper's surprises, Mabel began to ramble.
"You wanna go exploring now? We'll stay close to the Shack." Dipper sat up. Mabel ran into the closet to change into a sweater with a flashlight on it. When she pressed the button knit onto the sweater, the thing lit up.
The two crept down the stairs, making sure to not make a sound. They could hear the TV in the living room. It sounded like some sort of victorian romance. Mabel peeked around the corner and quickly drew back.
"Stan and Ford are watching a black and white show about a duchess or something!" Mabel whispered, trying to hold in a giggle.
"We have to be really quiet if we're going to-" Before Dipper could finish Stan started yelling at the TV "Ok, just go now.". The two quickly opened the door and closed it behind them gently.
Mabel was peeking in the window to make sure their Grunkles hadn't gotten up,
"Ok! What now!" She tried to get a glimpse of what was happening on the TV.
"Shhhh." Dipper hissed.
"What do you mean SHHH?" Mabel spun around "They didn't noti-" Dipper grabbed her shoulder and pointed. Across the parking lot towered a huge beast. They had seen one before, a Gremloblin. The beast was sniffing the dumpster, digging through like a bear would.
Mabel and Dipper screeched when it suddenly lurched it's huge head around. It let out a roar and bound towards the road. They could hear footsteps inside.
"Awe man, we're gonna get in trouble and we didn't even get a picture." Dipper groaned. Just as the door opened they heard the sound of tires squealing, followed by a horrid crashing. It sounded like shattered glass and crunching metal.
The door swung open and the two men looked at each other.
"What happened?" Ford promptly turned to the children.
"I think someone just crashed their car!" Mabel yowled. They all started running towards the road, before they saw the actual wreck, they saw flame.
"Kids stay here." Stan shouted and ran towards the wreck, Ford close behind. Mabel looked at Dipper and he nodded. They jogged close and gaped at the scene in the ditch beside the road.
The car had hit a tree which sent it sliding towards the ditch it rolled into. Somehow along the way, the person inside was ejected and was laying face down in the grass. Ford was making his way carefully towards the boy and Stan was trying to see if there was anyone else still inside the vehicle. Stan couldn't get close, but confirmed that there was no one else. Ford lifted the unconscious boy off the ground and began to half carry, half drag him to the shack.
"It looks like he has minor injuries, but we still need to bring him inside." Ford stated. Stan helped carry the stranger into the house. Dipper and Mabel stared at the still burning car.
"Do you think he hit the Gremloblin?" Mabel's voice shook.
"I dunno, but he might have looked into its eyes." Dipper walked across the road, no other cars were in sight "See, there's a path where it ran into the woods." Mabel walked over and her eyes were filled with curiosity. Maybe we could look? No. We should put out the fire… We can follow the trail tomorrow. Dipper thought to himself as he ran over the road again.
"I'm gonna grab the hose, can you turn it on?" Mabel nodded and darted towards the fouset. Dipper yanked the hose out as far as he could, "Ok! Turn it on!" Water hissed through the hose.
After they drenched most of the fire they went inside. Ford and Stan were huddled together talking in low voices.
"Oh, kids, where did you guys sneak off to?" Stanley spun around.
"We put out the fire with the hose." Mabel placed her hands on her hips and puffed her chest out proudly.
"Good work you two, now we put him in the break room so don't disturb him. Aside from being flung from his car, he's sustained minor injuries. I would still like to question him when he wakes up."
When Ford turned back towards the table Mabel crept down the hall.
"Mabel! What are you doing!?" Dipper hissed out a whisper.
"I wanna see him!" Mabel opened the door and Dipper ran forward. Mabel walked into the room and crept towards the couch. Dipper watched anxiously from the doorway.
"Close the door doofus" Mabel whispered and Dipper slowly and carefully closed the door. Dipper walked forward. The guy looked like he was 16 or 17, pretty young though. He had dark curly hair and a bad black eye. He had scratches on his arms and legs. Something seemed off… How could he just burst through his windshield without being way more hurt? Or even breaking a bone? The boy stirred and let out a sharp huff of air.
"Do you think he looked into the monster's eyes?" Mabel felt bad for him "He's probably having a really bad nightmare…" A few seconds later the small TV Soos had bought flickered on and started playing static.
THANK YOU FOR READING! This chapter was really long but REALLY fun to write! UwU
