(Twin's prospective)

Dipper looked from Ford to Mabel, neither seemed affected by Steven's comment, however Dipper wanted to know what Steven meant by "If you say so". Mabel bounced onto the couch next to the boy.

"So, Steven," Mabel leaned forward courosly "Why were you all alone so far away from your home?"

"Uhm, I was going on a road trip around the country, to figure out what I want with my life" Steven shrugged.

"That's smart!" Ford said knowingly, "I did something similar to find the perfect college. You must've just graduated highschool, correct?"

"Nope, I've never been to school." Steven replied. Dipper almost laughed, the expression on Ford's face was like none he had ever seen before.

"You were homeschooled then?" Ford asked with a little more uncertainty.

"Kind of, I guess. I'm mostly self-taught." Steven finished his toast and took another sip of water.

"By self taught you mean, like, those new online courses?" Ford wrinkled his nose up.

"No, if I had a question, I'd either ask my family or look it up online." Mabel's eyes widened with wonder and confusion, while Dipper watched Ford's reaction.

"Is that even legal? I thought kids needed to take yearly tests." Ford sputtered.

Steven shrugged and Dipper could tell that he was getting annoyed. Dipper couldn't tell if Steven was annoyed at Ford's comments or something else. Mabel offered to get Steven more water, and as she got up there was a knock at the door.

"What are you guys doing in here? Having a party?" Stan walked in, dressed in his suit. Confusion flashed across Steven's face. Waddels followed close behind Stan and ran up to Mabel. Steven smiled and held his hand out to the pig.

"So you're finally awake?" Stan spoke in his gruff voice, "What's your name kid?"

"Steven Universe, sir."

"Well, Steven, you might be stuck here for a while, unless you have family that live nearby to pick you up." Steven shook his head.

"I'm from Beach City, in the Delmarva Peninsula."

"Oh Beach City, lovely town. Crazy people." Ford jabbed Stan in the side.

"I'm going to work in my lab, Kids why don't you give Steven a tour?" Ford left the room and Stan left a moment later.

"Does your family have a lot of twins?" Steven turned to Dipper.

"Yup!" Mabel said proudly, hugging Dipper. Steven laughed and pet Waddles's soft head. When they stood up to give Steven a tour of the Shack, Steven grunted and winced with pain when he put pressure on his left leg. He claimed it was just stiff.

They first led him to the gift shop, where Wendy was behind the counter looking at her phone, and Soos was restocking the inventory.

"Wendy, he woke up!" Mabel ran forward and jumped onto the counter. Wendy looked up and smiled.

"Glad you woke up, I thought you were dead to be completely honest." Wendy laughed but trailed off when she saw Steven frowning uncomfortably.

"This is the gift shop to our Grunkle Stan's "museum"." Dipper waved his hand around the room, "That's Wendy, and that's Soos."

"Sup dude?" Soos smiled down at Steven from the ladder he was standing on.

"Hi," Steven waved, "I'm Steven Universe."

"Universe? That sounds really familiar…" Wendy leaned forward and looked at Steven's face.

"Well, my real last name is Demayo." Steven shrugged "My dad just thought 'Universe' sounded cooler."

Before Steven could continue Mabel interrupted with a screech "DEMAYO?!"

"That's our mom's maiden name!" Dipper's eyes widened "Do you know anyone in your family who could be our mom? Her name is Alice."

"I'm sorry, I've only met my dad's cousin, Andy. I don't even know my grandparents' names." Steven chuckled nervously.

"What's your dad's name?" Mabel pressed on.

"Greg." A smile crept across Steven's face.

"Hmmm…" Dipper scratched his chin, "We'll call our mom later." Wendy watched amused. After a little while longer, Steven decided to try to sleep again. He was tired, stressed, and his body needed to heal. After Steven fell asleep, the Pine's family sat together to have dinner.

"What should we do about the kid that's basically stranded here?" Stan was the first to break the silence.

"I would like to monitor him, to make sure he's doing alright. He suffered from minor injuries, and I would like to know how. I don't know how he could have flown from his car like that." Ford took a bite of pizza without looking up from his writing.

"He could work here for a while?" Dipper spoke up. Mabel looked at him, her eyes shining. Ford looked up and glanced at Stanley, who was taking a sip of Pit Cola.

"Fine, but he has to work some. He can't just go on weird adventures with you kids." Stan huffed. After dinner, Dipper and Mabel ran up the stairs and as soon as the door shut behind then Mabel cheered.

"Something exciting is already happening!" Mabel jumped onto her bed.

"Yeah! But he'll only stay here if he wants too." Dipper sat on his bed, "Hey, where's Waddles?" Dipper noticed that the little pig's bed was empty. Mabel inhaled sharply and dramatically. She looked under her bed, but Waddles wasn't there. Mabel flung herself around the room frantically looking for the pig, but he was nowhere to be found.

"Dipper, you gotta help me look for him!" Mabel wailed. She grabbed Dipper's arm and dragged him out the door and down the stairs. They both looked around the lower level until there was only one more room left to search.

"We can't go in there" Dipper hissed under his breath. Mabel shot Dipper a stinging glare before quietly opening the door. She stepped in and gasped with delight. Waddles was laying on the couch next to Steven, cuddled up close. Dipper tried to pull Mabel back out of the room, but when he stepped in static started playing on the TV. The twins froze, hopping that they hadn't woken Steven. Soft noise started to come from the box, the sound of waves on a beach. The TV started to come into focus. The twins froze with amazement and fear. The perspective was in first person, they were walking down a white sand beach. They started walking along a boardwalk, past several shops and towards an amusement park. They were walking past a french fry shop when everything changed. The ground was cracked, it looked like an earthquake had hit. There was pink goo spitting up everywhere, and when it hit the person's hand it hissed. After another second, everything returned back to normal.

The ground on the screen began to shake and the person fell. When they looked up, an unbelievably tall woman stood before them. Everything in the room was pure white, except for some black accents on the woman's clothes. She smiled,

"Oh Steven, you always find yourself back in this room."

The twin's heads immediately spun to look at the stranger sleeping on their couch. His breathing was uneven and a tear rolled down his face.

"I know this isn't real!" Steven's voice rang out from the TV. Mabel looked frantically at Dipper.

"I'm gonna wake him up."
