A familiar black Sedan pulled up an on-ramp and barked beside two towering buildings, the new sun up high perfectly in the middle of the gap between them. The car veered to the sidewalk before a series of concrete stairs and two concrete pillars designating the building on the right as FIB and the other as IAA. The car's door swung open, Ruby stepping out and slamming it shut to reveal her hair left hanging to her mid back and her classic corset-combat skirt combination. She strided up the stairs, working around the FIB building to find a small plaza with an intricate concrete layout on the ground beneath her feet, finding Ozpin talking to a red-haired man in a black hat and white suit coat at a table. Ruby knew she was in deep and meeting Ozpin's boss would only put her in over her head. But, what choice did she have? After taking in a deep breath, Ruby casually strolled up to the table, revealing a third man sitting next to the gray-haired man with a large mustache, the man being short and portly, and in a jet black business suit. Just as she reached out for a chair, the trio took notice to her, Ozpin looking up, chastised, and muttering, "Hey, Ruby."
"Well, you need to see me, Professor Ozpin?" Ruby said.
"You know I don't teach anymore, especially not after you kill one of the most wanted bank robbers who used to be a student of yours."
"Well, isn't that just a lovely thought. And what's this? You didn't tell me we were double dating. Sorry, guys, but this burning hunk of shit...I mean love, is mine."
The man in the hat reared back in laughter, taking his hand off his chin and clapping in approval before chiming, "Brilliant! Roman Torchwick, amiga. But, you probably knew that already."
"Sorry, your name tag must have fallen off."
"Co-o-old!I-I gotta remember to write this down and shoot you in the head, you annoying dick," Roman jibed before turning his attention to the snickering man in the suit, "Port, hey, are you taking notes on this? This stuff, whoa, pure magic! You'll have to excuse my assistant, Peter Port, he's a bit slow, but he dresses up as fancy as a man of his IQ can. Wow, we are coming up with comedic gold left and right, this has to be on my show. Have you seen my show?"
"You mean, "How to Dress like a Carrot Top in a Cheap Coat and have the Eyelashes of a Thai Transvestite"?" Ruby sarcastically replied.
Roman only let out a deep, creaking laugh, his thin smile showing his dislike for her humor, as Ozpin made his way into the conversation, "So," he began, tapping on the chair she had begun to pull out, finally allowing her to sit, "Well done with our...uh...friend, Mr. T."
"My pleasure, Ozzy. I love helping our government wage war, especially with itself."
"But, you made a mistake." Port jabbed, glaring at Ruby.
"Did I, pound cake?"
"Can you keep your fucking voice down before I close your fucking windpipe? The jokes stop here, you will show me and my team some respect, even if they're as useless as a water-brain like Peter, here." Roman growled in a low voice, rising from his seat and pointing a finger at Ruby.
"Yeah." Port added, arms crossed indignantly.
"Maybe you can define "team" for me. Is it just the three of you? The greater FIB? IAA? The entire government? Because, I'm tempted to argue, thus far, we haven't shown your colleagues a whole lot of respect, with me blowing their brains out and cutting them to pieces." Ruby rebutted, getting to her feat and slowly leaning in to face Roman.
Roman's arm swung around in an instant, a black cane popping an aiming reticule from its bottom now pressed against her throat, his finger squeezing a trigger as he hissed, barely able to keep back his bubbling rage, "Then why don't you start with me, genius?"
"You got it, pal." Ruby plainly replied, as if bored of the fact she had a firearm at her throat.
Roman lowered his aim to Ruby's chest and shoved her back into her chair, the robber holding her arms out to he sides to show compliance before crossing them again, intent on listening to Roman as he began again. "We've received intel that they're keeping Mr. T at the local Agency station."
"I just dealt with that guy."
"The Agency is stepping up their questioning because of your moronic antics at the coroner's office..."
"Good times." Ruby muttered to herself.
"We need to get him out of there before he spills everything."
"I did what Agent Ozpin said."
"Well, then, I'm guessing that getting you involved with a clapped out old agent who's been living off past glories was your first mistake. You're my girl now, amiga. My career depends on this, and that's very important to me. So, seeing as that we're all friends now, that makes it important to you."
Ruby only sat silently in her chair, shooting a glance at a defeated Ozpin as Roman rose and said, "Now, run along, kiddies."
Ozpin and Ruby rose from their seats, Ruby turning and heading back to her car as she heard Roman taunt Ozpin, "See there, Ozzy, you can teach a woman to be obedient, you just have to be man enough for it."
Ozpin sighed before catching up beside Ruby, saying, "Come on, we'll take my car."
The duo made their way up the series of short, flat steps as Ozpin continued, "The Bureau owns a lot out in East Vale. Covington Supplies, off El Rancho. Can you take us there or has your daytime drinking been kicked up a notch?"
"Sorry, what was that, I couldn't help but get distracted by how Roman made you his bitch back there. Yeah, sure, sounds nice and secluded. The kind of place where you run an off-the-books kind of operation, huh?"
"So what?"
"I'm willing to bet "Federal" isn't on the deed, that's so, and we all like our federal government open and transparent."
"Except when closed and opaque suits you better."
"Hey, I'm just a puppet, and you're pulling the strings."
"Fuck you, too, Ruby." Ozpin replied, the pair getting in his blue Ubermacht Oracle.
"Well, tell me, Ozzy, did the taxpayers buy this one for you?" Ruby began again as soon as she slammed her door shut.
Ozpin only shook his head and ignored her as he changed subjects, "I need you to make some calls, get a crew together for what's about to go down. First one is Blake Belladonna."
"Hey, I barely know her, she's just a hood rat who's great with cars and is fixing mine now."
"Call her or we'll send some G-men to her aunt's house to get her."
Ruby growled and grumbled as she got her phone out, dialing Blake as she said, "You're a real fucking asshole, Ozpin."
"Ruby," Blake said, her voice billowing in through the phone, "this isn't the best time, I'm kind of busy right now."
"Hey, sorry about that, but listen up. You know that thing we talked about before, it's happening. I need you to come to a lot off El Rancho, not far from where we met before."
"Alright, that's where I'm going, I'm in Vale anyway." Blake replied, the phone call ending there.
"There, happy Ozzy? We've got an innocent kid wrapped up in this shit, proud of yourself?"
"Don't play dumb, that kid helped you rob that dust shop. Now, call Yang Xiao Long."
"Are you fucking crazy?! I'm not calling her!"
"I thought you might say that, so we had her picked up."
"You what?! You just made the dumbest mistake of your life, Ozzy, really fucking dumb mistake."
"Just worry about the plan, okay? We're getting Mr. T out of the IAA Station, Belladonna will be positioned across the street keeping an eye on the proceedings, Yang flies you in, you rappel down and make the extraction."
"And I'm the best qualified candidate for this?"
"No, we've just got good leverage on you, Ruby."
"Great, and you brought Yang in for this! We're telling her I'm all cozy with the FIB, right? Just so we don't have anything else left to hide from our dear Yang."
"You'll need discreet support, we'll maintain control of the situation but just keep your mouth shut otherwise."
"Discreet? Control? Yeah, good luck controlling discreet Yang. I wonder how controllable and discreet she'll be when she sees the guy who killed me and put Velvet in jail."
Ozpin paused for a moment, finally agreeing with Ruby, "Yeah, maybe I'll hang back."
"That sounds smart." Ruby concurred as they pulled up to an old auto repair lot, a Frogger helicopter waiting before them.
"Great, Yang's already starting shit. How about you keep a low profile?"
"Yeah, I will. See you, Ruby." Ozpin said, getting into the driver seat and zipping off down the road and out of sight.
Ruby was immediately greeted by Yang turning her attention from Blake to her, asking, "Who's this cagey motherfucker, huh? No, it's another cagey motherfucker, not you!" Yang roared, shoving a suited FIB agent.
"Hey, Goldie, enough with the fucking insanity and intimidation bullshit for now, okay?" Ruby demanded.
Yang angrily stared at the man, both being face to face before the FIB agent backed down, strolling past Yang to search for his superiors. "Blake," Ruby interjected, "come on, you better take off."
"Ruby, I can handle this, for the last time. I'm not bailing on you now and won't any time soon." Blake refuted.
"Whoa! Am I sensing some...uh...some sort of...uh...daughter I never had bullshit here, Ruby, huh? Hey listen, Blake, if you want to replace a mother figure, you can do a lot better than this fake snake, alright? This fucker would eat her own kids and justify it as, 'They're adopted!'"
"Like I said, Blake, she's deranged." Ruby cut in.
"Yeah, and sister."
Ruby let out a short, cackling laugh before replying, "Exaclty. That's Yang, my sister. That's Blake, the daughter I always wanted."
The newly acquainted opposites shook hands, Ruby continuing, "Alright, guys, so here's the shot. I'm gonna do all the heavy lifting on this job, okay? Yang, all I need you to do is fly me to the target. Blake, you're gonna cover me from across the street. We're gonna make these assholes happy and we're gonna walk away from this thing clean. Got it?"
"Got you." Blake answered.
"Right, and after this, we bust Velvet out of prison, right?"
"Yeah, we'll talk about Velvet later, but right now I gotta change. You better grab a head start." Ruby complied, Blake nodding and heading off to green Bagger.
"Nice to meet you, homie, and great attempt at trying to suppress the hood in you." Yang added.
"Yeah, whatever." Blake replied, riding off on the motorcycle as Ruby entered the shop with a duffel bag.
Yang was still waiting before the helicopter as Ruby reappeared, her older sister cheering, "The government gimp at last!"
"Yeah, bite me." Ruby replied, in a jet black suit with harnesses on her back and front.
"Let's go!" Yang demanded, the sisters finally getting the helicopter, Ruby putting on an oxygen mask as the Frogger's blades began spinning about before finally taking them off the ground.
"We need to get to the Agency headquarters downtown." Ruby instructed through her headset to Yang's.
"Your new friends are a riot. No wonder you said sayonara to the old crew."
"Walking away ain't easy, Yang, but sometimes I guess you gotta make compromises."
"What happened to dying with a gun in your hand?"
"Life happened. Annoying husband, two adopted kids. Remember them? Once you get tied down, you can't move anymore."
"What about your ties to me? To Velvet?"
"Those ties are why you got roped in with me on this FIB-instigated suicide pact."
"For as long as it keeps me amused, I am."
"I ain't exactly sure it's gonna be amusing, Yang."
We'll see, you had me at 'suicide pact'."
The chopper soon arrived at the towering buildings, Ruby once again instructing, "Alright, pull up along the west side of the IAA building. Get us in position so I can drop down after that."
Ruby readied to drop off the helicopter, the aircraft suddenly veering off as Yang explained, "Whoa, sudden gust of wind, turbulence too strong, we're going down. HAHAHA!"
"Stop fucking around! You do that while I'm out there and I'll climb up this rope and strangle you with it!"
An unfazed, "Yeah," was all Ruby got out of Yang as she plummeted down from the helicopter, the line quickly tightening as her feet touched the glass of the top floor. Ruby hopped down the building, her hands slowing her descent and harness ultimately pulling her back to the building after skipping over several floors at once. Finally, she reached an unshaded window that showed what she wanted, a pale white man with black hair and mutton chops having his hand smashed by a woman with a flashlight.
"Next, I'll have this flashlight shoved so far up your ass, you're tonsils will be playing shadow puppets. You don't think we can do that? We can, it's in our guidelines." the Hispanic woman shouted.
The man whimpered in pain for a moment before saying, "I don't know what you're talking about. I sell books, not propoganda!"
"Grab his other arm." the woman demanded, two hulking men stepping up and securing both his arm.
"No, please, don't! No, no, no, no, NO!" Tukson pleaded.
The woman slammed her flashlight onto his right had, cracking bone and making the man howl in agony once more. "You think you're impenetrable," the woman asked, having her men hold him on the table before them as he pleaded for them to stop the whole way, "Let's see how you feel when this is eighteen inches inside your ass."
The man continued to plead as the woman walked around to his rear end, demanding from her men, "Get the lube...actually, fuck the lube, let's dry dock this son of a bitch," the woman continued, getting in the man's face as she harshly whispered, "The world thinks your dead, genius. Soon, you'll wish you were."
The glass behind them exploded, a long-haired figure standing behind Tukson as the men abandoned holding him down, drawing their guns on the intruder. The masked figure hooked its arm around Tukson's neck, pointing a gun at his head as the woman demanded, "Who the fuck is this?! Terminate him, close this problem right now!"
"Yeah, I could use a little back up here." the woman called out.
Suddenly more glass exploded from behind the woman, the men dropping like flies before her with massive holes in their chest and stomach, one getting his head obliterated. Across the way on the top of the massive Maze Bank Building was Blake, aiming a .50 sniper on the scene. Ruby and Tukson ducked under the table as more men poured in, Blake unleashing round after round on them until her clip clicked empty. In the process of reloading, she looked up to see Ruby strap Tukson in, jumping out the window and saying, "Alright, hoist us up!"
More men burst in on the scene as Ruby hung precariously in mid-air, coming under fire just as Blake was ready for another round. "Yang, pull us up, now!" Ruby demanded.
"What, with more guys down there? Take 'em out so we have no one to follow up on us, you damn softie!"
"I knew you were a liability, you fucking twat!" Ruby said, aiming her machine pistol in the broken window and opening fire with Blake. Soon the room was clear once more, blood and mangled bodies covering the office. "That a girl, Ruby, let's get going!" Yang called out over the headset.
Ruby and Tukson were soon hoisted back up into the helicopter, Ruby looking in the distance and groaning, "Shit, we've attack choppers on us, get us out of her, Yang!"
One chopper unleashed a missile onto the Frogger, Yang narrowly steering out of its path and throwing Ruby and Tukson about in the process, the high-priority man slipping through his harness and nearly plummeting to his death had it not been for Ruby wrapping her legs around his chest. "Hurry the fuck up, Yang! Blake, do something!"
Not a moment sooner had a thunderous shot rang out and the assaulting chopper was spiralling downward, the men in back thrown out by the force as the driver lie dead, his brains splashed against his seat and the crushed windshield. Another one went soaring right over their chopper, the men falling directly in the blades and being minced in a gory haze, the pilot once again dead with a round in his skull. "That's why we love you, Blake!" Ruby cheered over her headset, finally hoisting herself and Tukson into the helicopter, Yang immediately retreating back to the lot.
Tukson dashed for a seat, securing himself in with the safety belt and gripping the seat with all his might, Ruby holstering her machine pistol before drawing a familiar red metallic rectangle, peering out the open door to face the remaining pair of helicopters. In a split second, the box extended into a massive red scythe, the girl ramming a large clip with a black cross into the hilt. After carefully aiming through the scope, she pulled the trigger and discharged the powerful round, the recoil rocking the helicopter wildly as Yang struggled to control it. The bullet struck the pilot in the chest, mulching his entire chest and abdomen and his limbs popped off in random direction, the helicopter exploding on impact, tossing the burning men in back out, flames and smoke trailing their corpses. She turned her aim to the last helicopter, telling Yang, "Are you ready, I've got one more left and that last kick nearly took us out of the sky?"
"I'm ready, just let me turn it so it boosts us back to the lot and not rock us off our asses." Yang replied, turning the helicopter so the attack chopper was directly behind them.
Ruby took aim once more, hitting the center of the helicopter's windshield but achieving the same explosive results of a charred and wrecked hunk of metal plummeting down with three corpses trapped inside. "Alright, we're in the clear!" Ruby called out.
"That's an affirmative, squadron leader! Blake, come in, our glorious leader wants you to make your daring escape, we'll all meet up and talk later." Yang replied.
"Who are you people?!" Tukson demanded hysterically.
"That doesn't matter." Ruby responded.
"They said they were government...I work in a book store, I'm not a member of the White Fang!"
"I don't care who you are."
"Then why are you doing this to me!?"
"Hey, hold tight, I've got friends at the Bureau who can help you and explain everything."
"You saved me! You saved me! Thank you!"
"Don't mention it."
"The Bureau...the FIB, they'll make everything okay, right?"
"I'm sure. They'll look after you, don't worry about it."
"The things those people did to me...I'm a Valerian citizen for God's sake! I've never been to another kingdom or messed with the White Fang."
"Well, none of that seems to matter much in today's times." Ruby replied, the helicopter touching down soon after her comment.
Tukson immediately flung himself to the ground, kissing it as Ruby hauled him to his feat, shaking her head and asking him, "Please, have some goddam self-respect."
A man in a suit came up and grabbed Tukson by his arm, leading him off as Tukson lauded, "Thank you, thank you!"
"Go easy on him." Ruby called out as he was lead to a blue cleaning van.
Another suited man opened the back end, the one escorting him shoving him closer as he protested, "Wait, huh? No, please, come on, don't do this!"
His pleading was muffled as a burlap sack was placed over his head, the men shoving him in and slamming the door shut as Ruby yelled, "Hey, I said take it easy on him! Come on, give the guy a break."
"Alright," Yang began, "well, I'll get outta this shit. See ya around, lil sis."
Ruby disappeared into the auto shop once more, reappearing a short time later to be greeted by her sister saying, "Ah, in bed with the Bureau, and you've got a new runnin' buddy!"
"Yeah, she's more of a protege." Ruby replied.
"Yeah, well, are you gonna teach her to be a complete prude in the greatest and most fertile point of her life like you?"
"Yeah, or to never grow up."
"She seems like a good kid. Ruby, huh, look at this? New city, new set of problems, but the idiot, ah, they stay the same." Yang beamed as she climbed back into the helicopter.
"Yeah, I guess. I'll see you around, Yang."
"Oh, you better believe it, sissy."
Ruby jogged out from under the chopper's blades, watching as her sister ascended into the air, flipped her off, and flew out over the city. Ruby sighed upon the sight and the actions of her day, if hanging in mid-air with a wanted man between her legs while being shot at was just the start, she had no idea what the hell else they had in store for her.
Hey guys, DAM here again with another update for GTA: Vale. I saw this was recently popping up in my email with new favorites and subscribes so I'd thought I shouldn't keep the new followers or older ones waiting any longer. I announced on another story I'd be writing purely RWBY stories I'd started in honor of Monty Oum until I finish them and then finish other projects before starting other, new RWBY-based projects. I will be uploading the final chapter of RWBY: The Abyss soon and start adding more to A Vale between Worlds. I will, however, continue to update Death Battle, the season finale is fast approaching and will be announced soon, and The Burkholder Report, anyone interested in being interviewed feel free to message me and I'll get to it. Thanks so much for the support guys, keep the love coming, and don't forget to cite your DAM sources.
