Ruby stood over her counter in the early hours of the morning, her home still as empty and lonesome as ever. She had decided to try on her old heist gear, everything down to the boots still fitting from last time. She liked the look, deciding it was easiest just to wear it on a lazy day. In her right hand was a glass of scotch, the other holding the half-full bottle. Ruby stared at the alcohol for some time, her eyes darting back and forth between the two alcohol containers. Finally, Ruby sighed and shook her head, heading to the sink and dumping out the contents. Her boredom was turned to interest as her phone rang back on her counter, Ruby picking it up and answering it with a hope-filled, "Hello?"
A young man's voice filled through the other end, her eardrum nearly exploding from his shout, "Ruby Rose! I knew my connections would get me to you. How goes your life? If it isn't great, try some yoga, it really alleviates all of life's problems."
"Yeah, well, yoga is kinda the reason I'm in an empty house and nearly started my morning off drunk. How's your fucking day going?"
"Wonderful, just went on a two mile hike and just got back. Our boy, Roman Torchwick, left me a message on the phone about you, so I called and knew no one else could do the job the same. You got a crew, right?"
"Maybe I do, why?"
"Well, meet me up in Buen Vino Hills, I'm the house...no, mansion with the solid gold gate. Nice little place, got a rectangular layout scheme, two levels, built right on the most beautiful view in all of Vale. Got a pool and everything here, too, swear it sways in the wind it's built out so far. Hell, when you're not busy, come and take a dip. Heaven's Palace, I like to call it, owe it and everything I own and am to the big man upstairs."
"Why do I have a feeling you want me to work for you? Who the hell are you, anyway?"
"Oh, I'm so sorry, where are my manners?! Cardin Winchester, remember? The guy who helped smack that faunus around? How is he by the way?"
"He's dead, Roman blew his head off and pissed off my...my accomplice in the process. She remembers your face, she quit after what he did, and she isn't working for him, the government, or anyone associated to him."
"Well, too bad for you guys, you're doing me this little favor and then we're square. Ozpin told me all about your little predicament, I'm more than willing to lend a hand if it means your accomplice, I mean, your sister doesn't find the truth about the past. Just meet me and we'll talk about that favor, deal? Hell, if you want brownie points, bring her to the pool party. Clothing's optional, obviously."
Ruby growled in frustration, Cardin really had her right where he wanted. Finally, Ruby conceded, "Yeah, fuck you...fine, I'll be there."
"Good, see you then."
Ruby made her way off the highway and onto a road that curved up along the high hills, a treacherous drop to her right just beyond the all-too-close guardrail. Her eyes were clung to the road, unblinking as her face dulled with pure apathy, a slight scowl only just having an effect on her smooth face. Finally, all of the emotions that had pent up inside her exploded, the woman attempting to crush the steering wheel in her grip as she glared into the center symbol on it, screaming, "Why is my life so fucked now?! WHY!? Is it because I just had to avenge my mom against those corrupt fucks back in the North? Oh, or is it because I helped that fucking dipshit of a kid of mine not get her car stolen and recruit that damn girl as the daughter I never had and actually wanted? Maybe, just maybe, it all started to go to hell when my sister found out I was alive after that job and decided to pay me a fucking visit? Hell, it could be because my husband's a cheating fuck who leaves when I threaten his fuck buddy, but I can't call him out on it? No, it's fucking all of it! Now I'm working for the Feds and some asshole who's so pretentious he wants me to see his house on the cliff. Well, fuck me, just FUCK ME!"
Ruby's eyes were brought to her rear view mirror my the honk of a red Coquete behind her, the car veering off to her left and zooming up to pass her. "Oh, fuck no, I'm not letting this asshole put me any further into my pit of self-loathing!"
Ruby stepped on the gas, keeping up enough pace to slow the sport car's attempt to pass her. As they rounded a bend, Ruby's attention was then brought to a horn exploding, a semi rounding the corner. Soon, she heard the squeal of tires, moan of metal, and the explosion of sports car going ninety into the lower part of the grill of the semi. The car was literally in pieces, strewn about as if a bomb had gone off inside, the semi and its driver suffering nothing more than an obliterated grill, ruined inner workings, and a broken leg. Ruby leaned out the window and flipped the scene an infuriated finger, shouting, "That'll teach you, you fucker!"
Ruby turned her attention once more to the road, her face contorting and her breathing growing sucking and erratic, tears strolling down her face as she pulled over, placing her head in the steering wheel, her arms crossed to add some comfort to her resting forehead. She broke down, crying like she had not in several years. It all finally sunk in: there was no escape. Her family issues, crime life, sister, FIB, all of it, it was now her inescapable way of life. Finally letting the realization sink in, she grew silent, sitting back up and wiping her black sleeves against her eyes and down her face, wiping the tears off but leaving her with a wet face.
Not even a few minutes after her episode, Ruby reached the house, parking parallel to the golden gate and taking in the sight. It was everything the man had so self-righteously described and more. It overlooked a vast amount of hills and drops between them, the tallest buildings in the center of the city visible through the distant morning haze. Stepping out of the car, she let the cool, swift breeze calm her overheated, angry body, her cape gently flapping behind her. It was cool, but she could feel the building humidity in the wind, no doubt would she be regretting this outfit when it got hot. The gates screeched open, Ruby wincing from the piercing sound. A few men in identical tuxedos, glasses, and black haircuts stepped through, one hand on their wrist down by their crotches, a pistol in their free hands, and took up position at both end of the gate, facing each other. A few moments later, a red haired man in a steel chestplate and black attire underneath stepped out, shooting his fingers at her multiple times while he greeted, "Ruby Rose! Or should I say Red for your services? Agh, either will do, right? Sorry, I just wrapped up a quick five K and I'm loaded on some blended kale, avocado, and berry smoothies I've had. You gotta try some. But, I digress, I need you for your services."
"Well, like I said, I may be willing to work for you, maybe even a new kid I recruited, but my team isn't full without my sister. Believe me, she gets mad easy, but I haven't seen her this pissed in a long time, if you ignore the nine year gap between our last meeting, of course. There's no way she's doing this if you're involved with Roman and the FIB."
"Well, tough, missy, she'll have to deal with it or you'll have to do without and replace her."
"Whoa, good luck with that one, pal. I can't pull off a job without her help, if you can find me someone who can take a heart shot like she got bumped into by a fly and take out an entire city block with one punch, I'll take them in a heartbeat if they're a whole lot less fucking nuts."
"Okay, we don't have anyone like that, so you're going to have to convince her otherwise. Remember, you're whole slate getting scrubbed clean? That'll happen if you do me this one last favor."
"Fine, what the fuck is it?"
"Hang on a sec, hey, Neo!" Cardin called out, waving towards him.
A short woman stepped into view and strutted up before Cardin, glaring up at the giant with a tempting half-smile, a hand on her hip. Her hair was pink and brown hair, her eye colors matching each side they sat on. She wore a pink coat with a black lower half, exposing some of her midriff, brown pants, and gray boots with high heels, a pink umbrella slung over her other shoulder. "What is it, Cardin?" she asked, a hint of baby talk in her tone.
"Can you explain to Miss Rose what we're contacting her for?"
"Of course, Mister Winchester. Miss Rose..."
"Just cut the bullshit and call me Ruby."
"Alright, Ruby, we need your help in retrieving money taken from from some of Mister Winchester's funds."
"So, I'm here to get his money back? Aren't you filthy rich?"
"He is, it'll hardly make a dent in his wallet, but his reputation is what's on the line. The money was taken from some of his more private, some would say illegal, funds."
"Oh, what's the use in beating around the bush," Cardin interjected, "I had my money in the accounts of a bunch of mobsters and smugglers who are all going to jail. They used my money to incriminate me as well and get their sentences reduced. That'll be the last time I sponsor anything that needs more than fifty cents a day."
"So, you want me to kill these people?"
"No, not at all. It's the money. If it just so happens to go missing, and if there are no ties back to me, then I'm in the clear and their plea bargains are out the window."
"They're not at all suspicious the money they're using against you just disappears from some lock box in a bank vault?"
"That's where you're wrong," Neo retorted, "The money is being taken from the Vale docks today, where it's been kept on-board a shipping liner for the past few days, via armored truck and to the courthouse downtown. It'll be our last chance before they call Mister Winchester in for questioning in no time. And, with a pretty face like that, they won't go easy on him."
"Oh, you're just too sweet, you know that?" Cardin cued.
"Hey, are you two lovebirds done sucking each other off or are we not getting to anything relevant?"
"Fine, just so pessimistic, I'd still recommend that yoga and life of fitness. Anyway, we need you and your crew to take that armored out and get me back my money. I have tons of charities and other good cause funds I can disperse it through. I look like an upstanding Samaritan even before I know I'm in the process of being prosecuted and nobody will have the balls to touch that money for fear of taking money from numerous good causes or losing public support. It's a win-win."
"Alright, just a few problems. How the fuck am I supposed to know where that truck's going? It's exact path, to be precise. I have someone who'll do the job, but Yang isn't gonna budge, and if she doesn't do the job, I'm out. Third, who the fuck are you to think you can just call in favors like I owe you a goddamn thing, needle-dick?"
"Ooh, wow, Roman was not kidding about that mouth and wit on you. That'd drag me down if I wasn't on a rush from all this life I'm enjoying. Exercise. Eating right. Wealth. A grand view. Yoga."
Ruby took a step at the antagonizing philanthropist, the guards stepping to his sides and aiming their pistols at her. "At ease, gentlemen," Cardin assured, waving them off as he continued, "Beacuse, Ruby, if my conversation with Ozpin has told me anything, it's that you have quite a few skeletons in the closet. Skeletons that need to stay hidden from certain people. Plus, you want out, I'm very powerful. I can get you out and into a better life, if you do this one huge favor for me."
"Ah, a combination of blackmail and positive reinforcement, how could I expect any less? I'll press Yang into, but what about where it's going?"
"The truck is taking the most direct route to the courthouse, the one main road on that side of Vale. It'll be go straight up alongside the underground railway and take a left at the second bridge, then it's free and clear to that courthouse. If we somehow block off the road, make it go down a back alley where it can't be watched, and hit it then, we may have something." Neo pondered.
"Wait, that's perfect! A good old fashioned blitz! Cardin, I've got a few of the things I need, get me the biggest friggin' trash truck you can find and meet me in East Vale. How much time do we have?"
"Five hours. Man, I'm glad to see a brighter side of you! That's the power of positive thought, eh? Whoo, let's go, Team Red!"
Cardin clapped his hands together and strutted back to his house, the gate shutting with his guards and Neo close behind, the lawyer turning for moment to stare at Ruby before huffing and walking back along. "Man, what a fuckin' fruit." Ruby muttered, freeing her phone from her pocket and placing it to her ear.
"Hey, Ruby, what's up?" Blake asked, her voice booming from the speaker into Ruby's ear.
"Hey, Blake, listen, I remember you saying you know some people who had a tow truck company. Get me that tow truck and meet me in East Vale, pronto, we've got a big job that can save all our asses."
"Whoa, are you serious? I don't know, the people who I knew that ran it kind of just died under really fucked up circumstances, but I'm sure I can get one with that business going under without them noticing."
"Great, look for a parked trash collector on the road and park down the alleyway right next to it, we're hitting them with a blitz."
"Who, exactly, are we hitting?"
"Some rich jack off put his money with the wrong people, so now we gotta clean his mess up. We didn't discuss pay, but the guy's so rich he wouldn't notice each of us taking a couple hundred thousand cut each from this fund he's getting rid of anyway."
"Oh, shit! I'm definitely in! Anything else I can do?"
"Yeah, we gotta stay anonymous, as always. Bring some of those White Fang masks of yours, for the three of us."
"Got it, Yang's in, too?"
"She better be." Ruby stated, slamming herself inside her car and ending the call for a new one.
"Well, my little sissy has blessed me with her voice! Who do we have to kill?"
"Hopefully no one, yet. I need you for a job. I won't lie, we're working for that guy that Roman knows, name's Cardin Winchester."
"Aaaand like that you've lost me. You know I'm not working with those snakes anymore. Slippery, slimy assholes!"
"Yang, look, you better play ball. This guy's got it in good with the FIB. He'll pull his strings, trust me. We'll be done with these government idiots for good and we'll have a good enough word in to get Velvet freed. Just this one last job and then we never have to do this again. Please, Yang, for my family and Velvet. All we gotta do is knock out a heavy truck, take some money, steal some cuts, and give it to him so he can make it all disappear."
Yang growled on the phone, snickering before responding with absolute deadpan, "Fine, I'll do it."
"Good, get down to East Vale right away. Actually, I'll call a cab for us both, no sense in risking our vehicles leading them back to us, meet me at my place."
"Alright, you better be right, Ruby, or so help me God..."
"I am, Yang, just trust me."
A large, black truck rolled away from a shipping tanker, weaving through the shipping crate-filled roads to a toll exit. Beyond it, the vehicle sped down a bridge, a pair of men in police armor and helmets with visors raised conversed, the portlier man with curly brown hair sitting in the driver seat asking, "Man, we finally hit it big, Yung! After all that crap with those two freaks, we got a big job! They're letting us transport this important, top-priority stuff. Oh, man, I can't wait to rub Dan's face in it, he'll be so jealous! I'll finally be better than him!"
He looked at his Oriental friend, the black-haired man looking at him from the corner of his eye with disinterest, muttering, "Who cares?"
"Who cares?! I do and so should you! Think about it? We finally get to do something he hasn't already done! He can't criticize me when I tell him how hard I've been working on this big thing the past few months!"
"Tucker, you literally worked here a few days, we didn't do much of anything. You didn't even look into what we're transporting."
"Yeah, true, but how would he know? I'll just tell him that so he believes me."
"What if he calls you out or asks you a specific question? Like what are we transporting? Do you even know?"
"Um...I...uh, I guess I'll change the subject, I'm not good at proving myself. But this makes up for it, I've made it!"
"Whatever, him and Zain don't do shit to help guys like us. He was supposed to help me write my resume for this job, too."
"What happened?"
"I sent him some stuff and he was supposed to write a bunch of it but he told me to do it myself. Seriously, he expects me to finish something I've only done a quarter of, what a lazy dick! I worked my ass off to finish what little I could."
"I know, right? I mean, sure, I get tons of free support and attention from being associated with Dan, but he criticized me! Like it's my fault I was supposed to know the full potential of those grenades. The minimum said a ten foot blast radius, how was I supposed to know it was a fraction of its whole power? Who could even know it could reach its full potential? Sure, it was implied it could, but it was never shown! What do I look like, a genius?"
"I know how you feel. Them thinking we're geniuses, that's bullshit! We're like those grenades, everyone thinks we've only got a short reach and then, boom, you take out half a dozen armed service men and women within a fifty meter radius at basic training in Vale. We're branching, out, Tucker, we're gonna be huge!"
There hopes of hitting it big had to wait, Tucker cussed under his breath at the sight of a garbage truck parked directly in the middle of the street, blocking both lanes of traffic. Tucker blasted the horn, Yung leaning out the window and shouting, "Hey, move it, asshole, we've got important shit in here!"
Ruby sat inside the truck, the top half of her face covered by a Grimm mask. She did not have to endure the blasts of the horn and Yung's berating for long, getting on her hand radio and ordering, "Blake, now!"
Blake floored the gas on her hulking tow truck, speeding down from the opposite end of the alley and barreling ahead at the armored truck. She cleanly t-boned them, striking them right behind the passenger door, crumpling the metal around the impact site into a perfect half-sphere, like a boulder had it it. The titanic vehicles continued with the tow truck's path, crashing into the barrier guarding the top to the railway beneath their feet. The truck was pinned, the occupants flung head-first into one another, leaving them dazed. Ruby flung her doors open, leaping to the ground and sprinting for Blake. The duo had their weapons ready, Blake's Gambol Shroud in pistol form and Ruby's Crescent Rose in rifle form. The partners in crime made their way to the back of the armored truck, keeping a good distance as Ruby aimed and fired, blasting the doors in. Just beyond where the doors swung furthest was a large, black duffel bag. Blake sprinted for the bag, getting her hand on the handle and trying to yank it back to her. It stayed in place, the masked faunus finding another hand holding onto it, it's own lying prone on the ground, sobbing. Finally, after gaining some composure, Tucker pleaded, "Please, I need this! It's the only chance I have of beating Dan. I'll do anything as long as I don't have to work for it!"
Blake shook her head in disappointment, looking back over her shoulder at Ruby, the criminal veteran nodding. Blake turned her attention to Tucker and aimed her gun in his face, firing it off in his forehead, his head collapsing down and spraying some blood over her. Blake only winced as she freed the bag from the corpse's grasp, turning to Ruby for only a moment before she heard a man laughing behind her. She slowly looked back to find Yung sitting against the front end of the truck, a red light above him spiraling and flashing. He ceased laughing and said, "Zain was supposed to stop this, it's all his fault this happened, he knows I can't do anything myself! Well, now you'll have to deal with more cops!"
Blake growled as she aimed her gun at Yung, firing another round through his forehead, his head tipping back against the console and spouting off blood like a grotesque fountain. "You take care of the guards?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah, but I think he hit a silent alarm." Blake responded, tossing the bag to Ruby.
"Shit, cops are gonna be swarming this place any second now. We better dig in, this is gonna be one hell of a firefight." Ruby ordered, strapping it over her shoulder.
Ruby and Blake dashed back for the alleyway, putting their back to the walls facing each other, Ruby on the one nearest to the truck. Sure enough, they had barely settled in and the sirens began wailing in from everywhere. Cops began to stream around the trash collector, Ruby producing a detonator and pressing the button. The flashing sticky bomb underneath the truck exploded immediately, a ball of fire shooting into the air and flinging all around it away like rag dolls, several on fire or disfigured by shrapnel. The fiery remains of the truck now no longer sat perpendicular in the road, it was running parallel with it, allowing dozens of cop cars and N.O.O.S.E. Vans to swarm in, forcing Blake and Ruby to go on the run. Ruby once more got on her radio, frantically shouting, "Blondie, now!"
"You don't have to tell me twice." her sister responded, standing on a rooftop overlooking the carnage.
Yang stood on the ledge and sprung up to the sky from the ledge. She spread her arms out and held her legs firm, executing a swan dive as she plummeted to the earth. She slammed her fist into the road directly in the center of the police traffic, creating a massive shockwave that sent every vehicle and person flying off from her epicenter of destruction, the road breaking down into interlocking rocks and oscillating off like the surface of water. Just as the stunned officers and anti-terrorist forces began to rise, Yang was already going to work. She lunged for her nearest victim, cartwheeling through the air and slamming her heel into the back of his skull, knocking him out-cold and landing on him with her full weight, completely crushing his skull under her boot like a tin can. She glided at her next victim, jabbing her arm through his stomach with one punch, the spray the came out the other end peppered nearby officers, dropping them in a heap. She was ambushed from behind by a quadruplet of N.O.O.S.E. agents, all having their rifles trained on her and one demanding, "Get on your knees!"
Yang, arm still through the lifeless man's stomach, smirked as she responded, "I'm not your mother last night!"
She spun around and hurled the corpse at them, striking far right one and pinning him to the ground under it. The men turned back to Yang once more, only to find her coming in with a swing that the first in the temple and traveled down the line to the other two. Their heads spun around in a full one-hundred eighty degree turn, their necks horrifically mangled and contorted. The last man shot up in a sitting position, only getting his gun trained on her before she threw her fist in his direction, the blast from it melting his face to the bone, screaming as his eyes popped from their sockets and dangled from their optic nerves. Yang soon realized she was completely surrounded when she heard the cocking of dozens of assault rifles all around her. She assumed her combat pose, an arm cocked back, ready to slaughter anyone who opposed her. While she concentrated on the ground, a sniper took aim from a helicopter above, the man looking to the pilot and asking, "I've got the shot lined up, Sarge."
"Take the shot!"
The man turned his attention back to the static drug queen, retraining his sights on her and slowly pressing on the trigger until the gun kicked back and the round discharged.
Ruby and Blake continued to make their escape down the alley, Blake stopping and looking back at the sound of a thunderous crash. "Hey, we gotta go, Kitty."
"Wow, great code name, Red."
"Hey, we gotta keep it simple, there's Blondie, Red, and Kitty, good luck deciphering that and finding out who we are."
Before Blake could further get into it with Ruby as they neared the opposite end of the alley, more police sirens grew closer and their cars skidded to a stop in front of the alley, the officers and N.O.O.S.E. promptly exiting their vehicles with weapons drawn and coming out to the front of the cars. "Drop your weapons, the bag, and surrender!"
"They never learn, do they?" Ruby muttered.
The criminal fired her rifle at a N.O.O.S.E. agent, his head exploding and leaving nothing but his neck on his shoulders. The squad opened fire, Ruby vanishing in a flurry of rose petals as Blake leaped from each side of the alley, wall-to-wall, until she had risen high above the rooftops. She fired her gun down on the men below, striking three cops in the chest and an agent in the throat. The men took aim at her, only for the rounds to harmlessly pass through her, the shadow clone disappearing instantly. Their awe was ended with Blake slamming into an agent, impaling him through the chest on her blade. She kicked the man off her blade and waited for the next move, her sword raised horizontally at her forehead's level, point facing out towards the line of officers. "Well, what are we waiting for? Get her!"
They opened fire once more, Blake leaping from shadow clone to shadow clone as she was now in the middle of the men, swinging down and severing one agent's hands at the wrists. She vanished once more as bullets passed through her clone, striking the agent several times over and killing him. Two more agents had fallen as she charged past them, arms outstretched with sword and sheathe slicing through their necks. She skidded to a stop, panting, eyes darting between each fearful man with their guns aimed at her. One brave agent stormed at her, swinging the butt of his rifle around at the back of her head. He stock only met with metal, Blake blocking the blow with the blade of her sheathe held behind her. The man gasped as his breath grew shallow, Blake having almost instantly inverted the grip on her blade and thrust it backwards, impaling his stomach and out his back. Another agent came charging in to bash her head in, the faunus swooping her sheathe forward, slicing the rifle behind her in half as well as the charging man's helmet and skull to the bridge of his nose before her. Blake looked over her shoulder and smirked, dropping to a knee and stabbing her sword into the asphalt, encouraging, "You boys better hold on."
The men only looked at her with confusion, barely able to notice a spiraling flash of red soar past them, the remaining officers being sucked into the jet stream and dragged along with it, their vehicles following suit. Ruby ceased spinning and slided to a stop, turning to see a wave of men and vehicles flying at her, the brick wall of the building behind her cracking like glass. She pointed the barrel of her scythe at the ground and fired, propelling herself into the air as the men were slammed into the wall and subsequently crushed to paste by the flying cars, collapsing the wall in from their force. Ruby fired her scythe behind her and flew down at Blake, rolling on the ground to slow her entry and condensing her scythe back down to its carry form, strapping it to her lower back. "That was amazing!" Blake cheered.
"Yeah, we're almost home free. We just gotta get Yang and head out of here."
"Is she still back there?"
Their conversation was interrupted by an explosion hitting the air and rocking the earth, Ruby nonchalantly responding, "Yep."
The sway of the helicopter through off his aim, the round striking Yang in her cocked shoulder. The drug queen fell to a knee, holding her wound as her hair began to glow and eyes burn red. "You people don't fucking like to play fair, do you!?" she bellowed.
Yang slowly rose to here feet, seething with rage as she brought her fists up before her face and throwing them down to her hips. The surrounding area erupted in a fiery blast, the cars charred to a crisp and men incinerated to nothing more than limp skeletons. The man from the helicopter looked on with horror, his aim trembling tremendously around Yang, his close-up view catching her turning her attention up to him. Bringing her arm up and spiking it into the ground, she catapulted herself into the air, arms windmilling to catch something. Finally, they grasped the landing gear of the helicopter, Yang hoising herself up and hanging from the inside of the helicopter, finding the shaking man aiming at her, shouting, "Don't come any closer, I'll shoot!"
"Do I look like I give a flying fuck?! I'm flying, alright, but you're about to take a good fucking!" Yang shouted, now standing on the landing gear.
The man fired at Yang, the drug queen reacting faster and holding her arm out before her, the bullet ricocheting back at its owner and hitting him in the chest. The man threw himself from the chopper, screaming as he fell to his doom. Yang looked back down to find another armored vehicle parking itself amidst the chaos, yelling, "Oh, no you don't!"
Yang brought her arm back and punched up towards the propellers, shredding them all with a blast each and sending the helicopter nose diving for the truck as the men began to trickle out from it. Yang pushed herself away from the plummeting aircraft, saluting and declaring, "Enjoy your tax payer's dollars crashing down on you, you disingenuous pricks!"
The helicopter crashed onto the roof of the truck, flattening it into the ground and exploding as it hit the solid earth, the blast sending every man flying and Yang as well. She screamed in surprise as she tumbled back through the air, crashing down onto the back of her head and rolling over her shoulder to her stomach, lying prone and groaning. Yang pushed herself to her feet, turning back and finding her comrades behind her. "Nice work, Blondie, you never fail to amaze!"
"No problem, sis, I'm a pleaser."
"Alright, we've got a little opening, I don't hear any sirens. Now what?" Blake asked.
"You two run your asses off, alright, go straight north until you can't here sirens anymore" Ruby began, opening the bag and handing each several stacks of cash, "Blondie, you go back to wherever it is you've been fucking around and stay put, same for you Kitty..."
"Kitty? Pfft, I'm going to have to remember that."
"Yeah, fuck you."
"Hey, kids, stay with me here. Ditch the masks as soon as you get home and don't go anywhere or do anything for the next couple days. Cardin's got someone monitoring police and sent someone to get me now. We'll talk later but, after seeing what we did here today, I'm anxious for more."
The two nodded at Ruby and turned left from the alley and disappeared down the sidewalk, sprinting to the nearest alley way and sticking to each one for nearly a mile as they headed north to ditch the scene. Soon, a limousine pulled up at the mouth of the alley, Ruby zipping the bag shut and running for it.
The limo parked outside the familiar luxury home, Ruby stepping out without a mask and slamming the door, propping her hands on the bag and waited as the gate slowly opened. An overjoyed Cardin trotted out of the driveway, Neo in close pursuit with less joy for seeing Ruby than her boss. "Ruby Rose, how can I ever repay you?! You did fantastic, it's all over the news. One minute you hit an armored truck and rob it, the next you're tearing the cops and N.O.O.S.E. a new one, and the next you all vanished without a trace. I see some serious partnership with you all!" Cardin cheered, having the bag tossed into his waiting arms by Ruby.
"Yeah, nice idea, but it ain't happening. You got a deal to uphold, pal, you get me, my sister, and my friend out of this mess with the FIB and wipe our slates clean, right?"
"Oh, yes, of course! But, come on, we have to keep running together, the four of us..."
Cardin was cut off by Neo purposefully clearing her throat, Cardin correcting, "Excuse me, the five of us need to keep this partnership alive. What's it gonna take? More money? More weapons? Drugs? Name your price."
"My price is my fucking freedom, which you better deliver on. Once I get that, I'm officially done with all this and settling down. Now, if you just so happen to withdraw your bargain, well, let's just say Yang doesn't take kindly to be ripped off at all, much less twice."
"Alright, I understand, I respect your femininity and strong, fierce independence, I even find that sexy," Cardin said, Neo scoffing and storming off, "But, just remember, if you need work, I'm never short on my list of things to do. Oh, and don't forget that pool offer! I'd really appreciate you and your crew dropping by, especially if you adhere to the clothing optional rules."
"How's about you go get fucked, you red-headed pecker?" Ruby declared.
"Alright, independence, I forgot. Can I at least call you a cab?"
"Oh, no, I just planned staying the rest of the day with some pretentious fuck in his house that's clearly overcompensating for what might be the smallest micro penis in history."
"Okay, the soul-crushing sarcasm is really getting to me, call your own damn cab!" Cardin whined, storming off to his home as the gates creaked shut.
Ruby turned to the road and called for a cab home. No sooner did she put her phone in her pocket than did she start cheering and leaping into the air with joy. "Finally," she called out with a breaking voice, "it's finally all fucking over! I can live a normal life! I can have my days back! I can have my family back!"
Hey, folks, DAM here with an update to GTA: Vale, God, it has been too long! I really hope you enjoyed this update, it was a blast to make. Just a few quick announcements: First, expect some more original chapters coming in near updates. I'll still follow what happened in GTA V in some chapters, such as future scores, but I'm going off on my own tangent to add some cool dynamics I've been dying to add for a long time. Second, I'm going do be updating this, Vale between Worlds, and, yes, Death Battle: Season 3 in a 5/5/5 system. I'll do five chapters of this, then five of Vale between Worlds, and five of Death Battle (though the first batch of DB will be seven since Zivon did the second and third fights of the season). I'm doing this to keep up some creativity as well as not stick to one thing too long, as Zivon requested so I don't get too hung up on one story and rusty when it comes time to change. Plus, like all of you, he can't wait for more Death Battle! That about wraps that up, guys, thanks you all so much for your support by favoriting, following, or reviewing. Keep the love coming here, on my other stuff, and with my friends, and don't forget to cite your DAM sources!
