Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze...' Doffy thought. 'A mouthful and weak-sounding name, though I guess I have no choice in the matter.' It was his name now, or specifically, the child that he possess.

'What's annoying is that not only I have a weak name, but I also have a weak body. Of course I'm weak right now, considering they train those two brats early, and I'm not included in said training! Tch. Greatest Hokage and one of the strongest kunoichi, my ass! I've got no time for such nonsense! They're all idiots!' Doffy fumed silently, starting to his own training.

At the age of seven, Doffy he was quite tall over the kids his age, not much but still noticeable, due to his physical conditioning. Short, spiky blonde hair and bright blue eyes, clearly inherited from Minato. As repeated his morning training routine, his thoughts drifted back on how it all started.

[FLASHBACK]

Ever since he started hearing and seeing more clearly, Doffy knew the new family he now belonged to was almost perfect(almost, as he new there's always ups downs). He can admit to himself that the first five years of his new life was a happy one. It was like a dream, knowing and feeling a life with a family that he can rely on, a family that he can understand the meaning of family, and a family that gave him a familial love. It was nice, and he coudn't deny that. So relished and savored it, to the point that he almost forgot his old life as Donquixote Doflamingo.

But by the time Doffy and his siblings reached the age of five, they started training his siblings, saying they needed it more than him at the moment. Doffy knew they have reasons why, though he didn't know what, he complied anyway. The first month passed and he tried asking again, and he was denied again. Doffy waited again, though he noticed something along the month. They started forgetting him in dinners, or his mom forgetting him tucking in bed and some other things.

His waiting reached into a year and he knew something's not right. So he tried again, asking if he could train with them. But the answer he got was, "Stop bothering us! Why would we train you when your siblings have something special that you clearly don't have! It'll only be a waste of time training you! You shoudn't be dreaming like becoming a ninja! You're weak! You're a failure!" from his mother.

He was shocked, angered, hurt, and most of all, felt betrayed. Something inside cracked, though he didn't know why and he coudn't care about that as he just glared at his parents. He directed his sights to his siblings, looking at him with a mocking and smug looks. 'BASTARDS! ALL OF 'EM!' Doffy thought furiously.

He didn't waste time running out of the house, intending to blow some fuse somewhere. He didn't notice the villagers leering at him with hate clearly written in their eyes. He just kept running and reached the Red Light district.

The villagers approaching him, intent on some payback against the 'Demon-fox', as the villagers said. Still Doffy didn't notice them, his emotions running rampant, until it was too late.

'Just like back then.' Doffy thought coldly. Curled into a corner as the villagers punched and kicked him, stabbed and hammered by every possible things around him, he coudn't do anything but cry, yelling at them to stop.

Something shattered in his mind. Memories of his past life flooded his mind, destroying his unkowingly-created barrier that made him forget who and what he was.

Pouring all the hate and anger born from his past and current predicament, he exploded. "STOP!" Doffy screamed. A short, but almost like a commanding sound echoed through the air and knocking all the civilians around him and reawakening the proof of who he was.

He watched them fall one-by-one emotionlessly, looking at them like they're insignificant compared to him. But Doffy's not really watching them. He is watching the memories and nightmares all over again. All the pain he suffered and endured in his past life, and the images of his fami-'no, they're not my family.'

Looking down at him disappointment and annoyance from Kushina and Minato, and the mocking and smug ones from the two brats.

He didn't know how long he watched the memories, but by the time he's done, clarity came over him.

'The world's denying me again. But I already know what it feels like and this will not stop me. I am the captain of the Donquixote Pirates. I am a Shichibukai. I am a royalty and I am a king! They can't impose their will on me, I am Donquixote Doflamingo!'

Only darkness and silence remains in the alley, until Doffy chuckled non-stop becoming loud, almost-insane laughter.

[FLASHBACK END]

Doffy shook his head to clear his thoughts as decided to wrap up his training.

Looking at the sky, he guessed it was past lunchtime. He decided to hunt for his own lunch, he walked through the forest, searching anything edible. Twenty minutes passed and with a variety of fruits a small wild boar.

He gathered a bunch wood and started to create a fire to cook the meat. As he waited for the meat to be cooked, Doffy thought about his progress in his training. He knew his Haki was exceptional, especially his Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku. Doffy knew his Haoshoku was not at its best, but considering the strain when using it was annoying, but he knew it was only a matter of time before he can use freely. He grinned at the thought of it. He also repolished the Rokushiki. It was a formidable skillset, not the same as his strings, but still useful. He also skimmed through the basic jutsus and chakra exercises taught in the academy.

At the thought of his strings, Doffy's grin disappeared, replaced by a scowl. For a whole year he coudn't replicate his strings from his devil fruit. It's always that pathetic chakra strings used by puppeteers in Suna.

As he was eating his food, a thought occured to him. An idea entered his mind that, hopefully, might create his strings.

Decades of using his Devil fruit, he forgot the main fuel this land or world has, chakra. Doffy wanted to laugh at his moment of stupidity as he forgot one of the most important things. So with that in mind, he held up his hand with his middle finger pointed forwards. He poured a large amount of chakra and he felt the sensation of a string, but not the one he wanted. He poured more chakra to his finger, willing to summon something that he felt in him deep down. Sweat appeared and his scowl deepened, forcing all his chakra. Doffy could feel his finger was like burning but he pushed through, and suddenly the feeling of burning stopped, he only felt something poking out of his finger.

Taking deep breaths, he opened his eyes and looked at his finger. And he saw it. A five-inch length of white string swaying in the wind, and Doflamingo grinned. He silently chuckled then turning into a boisterous laughter filled with a sense of joy and content.

He didn't know when he laughed like that, but he coudn't care about that now. All he could think of was that his strings are back and nothing else.

Deciding to stop his training for now, he went back home. Not bothered by villagers' glares at him, walking back with his hands in his pockets, exaggerated steps, and wearing the same, wide smile where his Jolly Roger came from.
