Hi! I'll be posting rules for the art contest soon! Thanks for reading!

(Mystery Twins)

When Mabel woke up she was ready to start her day. She leapt up and started rummaging through her sweater collection to find something to wear today. Dipper was snoring softly in his bed, so she didn't want to wake him to ask for his opinion.

Mabel pulled out a couple sweaters that didn't really match her mood. What mood am I in today? I have to look really good because Candy and Grenda are stopping by. Then she pulled out the perfect sweater. She held up a cream colored sweater with a roller blade knit onto the front. One sleeve was yellow and the other was red.

Perfect! Now I have a cute, retro vibe! Mabel brushed through her hair and put it up in a high ponytail. She walked downstairs and saw Steven half asleep at the counter.

"Did you not sleep good last night, Steven?" Mabel propped her chin up with her arm and leaned forward.

"I had a weird dream." Steven said while yawning. A young couple walked into the gift shop and quietly looked over the merchandise. I wonder what he was dreaming about. Uhg, I wanna know! Would it be rude to ask?

"Was it another dream about your town being all pink and weird?"

"No," Steven laughed lightly. The couple walked up to the counter and put down a couple t-shirts.

"What brings you to this fine town?" Steven asked the couple as he was scanning the shirts.

"Oh, there's a concert here tonight, so we came early to look around!" The taller of two answered smiling. She was looking at the jar of eyeballs. A look of amused disgust on her face.

"Who's playing tonight?" Mabel asked, genuinely curious.

"It's this girl who sings about shakespearean plays. It sounds kinda lame when I say it, but we really like it!" The shorter girl smiled and Steven handed them their bag of shirts.

"Have a nice day!" Steven waved as they left. Only a moment later and Mabel could hear pounding footsteps approaching the door. Grenada flung the door open and flung herself at Mabel. Candy was right behind and joined the pile of hugs.

"Welcome back Mabel!" Grenada said in her booming voice.

"Girls I have SO much fun planned for us tonight!" Mabel clapped her hands together.

Candy whispered "I did not know there was a new employee." She giggled and glanced over her shoulder.

"Oh yeah, that's Steven! I'll tell you about him later." They all giggled, "Come on, I'll help you bring your stuff upstairs." As they galloped up the stairs they nearly ran over Dipper who was coming down the stairs. He pressed himself against the wall as they ran past.

Dipper let out a sigh. Where will I sleep tonight? Outside? He walked downstairs, when he passed the gift shop he noticed that Steven was practically falling asleep at the counter.

He walked into the gift shop and up to the counter, "Steven?" Steven jumped and was suddenly wide awake.

"Sorry, I didn't sleep well last night." Steven laughed tiredly, "Who were those loud kids that came in here?"'

"Mabel's friends, they're here a lot during the summer." Dipper groaned, "They take over our room in the attic, so I'll probably sleep outside tonight."

"Do you want to sleep in the breakroom?" Steven offered kindly.

"Yeah, sure! It's better than outside." Dipper laughed, "I'll try to get my mattress, to put on the floor. Hopefully I don't get ambushed, heh."

"I can help you, if you'd like."

"Yeah, sure!"

Dipper led Steven up the stairs and before they had even reached the room they could hear the girls screaming and laughing.

"Are they ok in there?" Steven asked with genuine worry in his voice.

"Yup. That's them being quiet. So prepare yourself for tonight, they go crazy in the moonlight." Dipper sarcastically rolled his eyes. When Dipper knocked on the door the voices hushed. Mabel opened the door a crack and stuck her head out of the room.

"Can we help you?"

"Yeah, Steven's gonna help me move my mattress downstairs for the night." Dipper gestured towards Steven who waved.

"Ok." Mabel opened the door and walked over two Candy and Grenda. They started whispering and giggling. They kept glancing over at Steven, and Dipper could tell he was uncomfortable. Dipper was about to help lift one side of the mattress, when Steven lifted the whole thing with ease.

The girls started giggling again and closed the door behind the boys after they left.

"Are you sure you don't need any help carrying that?" Dipper felt bad for not helping.

"Naw, it's pretty easy!" Steven carried the mattress to the breakroom. Dipper opened the door and Steven set it on the ground.

"I should probably go back out to the shop now." Steven turned and walked out the door. Dipper tried to lift it but it was pretty heavy. He dropped the corner he had lifted. How did he carry this so easily? He didn't even struggle! Dipper wanted to go down to the lab and see Grunkle Ford, but he couldn't open it up during store hours.

Dipper hated that. He only got to see Ford in the evenings or days when the shop was closed. He sighed and walked back out into the gift shop. Wendy had just arrived for the day and she was talking to Steven. Dipper felt a twinge of jealousy, which made him feel guilty. Why do I feel jealous? I shouldn't. Steven's closer to Wendy's age anyway. She's 16 and I'm only 13. I really shouldn't feel this way…

Later that night after the shop was closed and Steven was in the shower, Dipper was finally able to talk to Grunkle Ford. Something felt creepy about the lab to him. His feet taped loudly down the halls as he wandered around looking for Ford. He heard the buzz of a machine and followed the sound to its source.

Ford was working on some sort of device.

"Oh, Dipper!" Ford set down the thing he was fiddling with, "Can I help you with anything?"

"I suppose. I just noticed something weird today." Dipper started.

"Of course you did! This is Gravity Falls." Ford let out a hearty laugh.

"No no. Not like that. Something weird about Steven." Ford suddenly stopped laughing and quickly pulled forward a notebook.

"Go on." Ford rummaged for a pen.

"Well, he's freakishly strong." Dipper pulled a stool over to sit on.

"Interesting. Keep making observations for me. This will help my research." Something inside Dipper twinged again. What about my research? I wanted to fill my new journal with my own knowledge this summer. Is it wrong to want to keep my findings to myself? Dipper walked out of the lab, his thoughts swirling in his head.

Ok ok, I never watched Avatar, the last airbender as a kid. So I just watched it for the first time on Netflix. And oh man. It's so good! I love the characters and the art style! I got 15 minutes into the movie before I quit. SMH.
