Oda and Tanizaki
~ Who do you think are the most problematic ones? – Akiko asks, bending down the aisle between the tables. The Prefect badge shines on her robes. A bunch of first-years are standing in front of the teachers' table and look nervously first at the professors, then at the students, who are looking at them with great interest.
Oda also looks closely at the first years. He is the Hufflepuff Prefect, so he will have to deal with the all the troubles caused by the first-years. Like Akiko, in principle.
~ I think they're all good, – Oda replies thoughtfully. He generally does not like to rush to conclusions.
~ Sakunoske, don't nag, you're a seer, tell me who we should pay special attention to.
Odasaku sighs softly. His gaze clings to a shock of white hair on one of the boys, to the frightened blue eyes of a girl who seems very small against the background of her peers, to the enthusiastic face of a blond boy with a freckled face looking at the ceiling, and to a couple holding each other's hands tightly – apparently brother and sister. He can already distinguish by one type who will go into which House. This requires only a little bit of a seer gift and simple observation.
~ It's going to be an interesting stream," he finally says, but Akiko clearly doesn't expect this from him.
~ This is not an answer!
~ Be quiet, the sorting begins.
Indeed, the Sorting Hat starts its ballad, and the quietly whispering students before that instantly subside. After this little concert is over, the distribution begins, which is followed with interest by the whole school. Oda involuntarily recalls how he first went out to the three-legged stool and accidentally named his House before the hat.
~ Ryuunoske Akutagawa! Fukuzawa, the deputy headmaster, announces loudly. A dark-haired boy, so skinny that it seemed he could be blown away by the wind, walks over to the stool. The hat falls on his head and in just a couple of seconds announces:
~ Slytherin!
Under the noise of the table with the green banner, the boy staggers into the hall.
~ Izumi Kyoka!
Now the little first-year with blue eyes goes to the stool, and a minute later she goes to her House table, after the Hat had shouted "Ravenclaw!" The boy with white hair and the boy, who gazed enthusiastically at the sky, soon find themselves on the same bench as Oda. New students gradually disperse between the tables, and there are less and less of them in front of Fukuzawa.
~ Tanizaki Junichiro! The professor announces. Oda looks at the red-haired boy and the girl, who all this time did not let go of his hand. Now she had to. Her quiet whisper can be heard to the front rows: "We will definitely be in the same House!"
The boy is clearly nervous: Oda sees his knuckles whiten as he grips the stool. He has cause for concern – the Hat thinks over him for a long time, it seems, even communicates with him, in any case it seems that the boy's lips are moving.
~ Gryffindor! – After a long pause, it spreads through the hall, and the Gryffindor table applauds the loudest. Before taking his place there, the boy walks past his sister and fleetingly touches her hand.
~ Tanizaki Naomi!
The audience falls silent in tension. It rarely fell to relatives to get into one faculty, and if they got into opposing faculties, then even the strongest bonds could collapse. Naomi approaches the stool much more boldly than her brother, and that makes Oda smile. He already knows what will happen next.
~ I want to go to Gryffindor. – the girl declares as soon as the Hat is on her head.
~ The hat will decide where to send you, - Fukuzawa tells her with a stern face. It is too rare to have to reexplain this common truth to new students.
~ I don't care what the Hat says; I want to join my brother in Gryffindor!
~ But...
~ Only to Gryffindor!
A chuckle rolls between the students. No one has yet dared to contradict Fukuzawa so directly in his entire teaching career. The hat sighs heavily and announces:
~ Okay, Gryffindor.
Amid general laughter and applause, the little girl moves to her table and proudly sits down next to her brother.
~ You know, I think have already understood who will be the most problematic on the stream, – Akiko says with a sigh, watching this picture.
