Chapter Five

"Draco" Narcissa ran after them as they left the house, "Draco please" she begged as they disapperated from the Malfoy manor, Narcissa began sobbing knowing that her son meant every word.

"Draco please" Hermione begged him as he paced up and down the room,

"How could she let him back in?" he had been raving for the last half an hour, "I can't believe after everything he put us through…after want he allowed to happen" he screamed punching the wall,

"Draco" Hermione gasped

"Fuck" he groaned cradling his hand,

"Draco" Hermione moved to his side,

"How could she do this?" He looked at Hermione tears in his eyes, "She said she would never let him back in" Hermione wrapped her arms around him

"It's ok" she held him tight and he sobbed into her shoulder, the sound of Apportion echoed outside "Draco, you go up and run a bath I'll get rid of whomever that is" she whispered looking up at him, "Go on" she smiled before moving to her tiptoes to kiss him,

*Knick, Knock* a frantic knocking came from the front door. Hermione pulled away,

"Go" she whispered pulling out her wand, before heading to the door, where she found not only Narcissa but Lucious as well, casting a silent shield spell she opened the door, "HE doesn't want to see you" Hermione said,

"How dare you!" Lucious began,

"Lusious shut up" Narcissa snapped, "Please Hermione I need to talk to him" Narcissa begged,

"He's not in a good place right now Cissy, come back tomorrow or the next day…give him time" Hermione said ignoring Lusious' look of disgust at her use of Narcissa's nick name.

"Hermione please" she begged, "Was he serious?" Narcissa looked from Hermione's face to her stomach and back, Hermione nodded. "Please tell him I will come again tomorrow" she whispered tears falling down her cheeks again

"I won't promise he will see you…" Hermione began but a shot of white light shot past her ear hitting Lucious, causing him to stiffen and fall to the ground,

"HOW DARE YOU" Draco appeared pushing past his mother and kicking the wand from his father's hand, "HOW DARE YOU POINT A WAND AT MY PREGNAT WIFE" He screamed aiming another kick to Lucious' kidney

"Draco" Hermione gasped, running to his side to stop him, "You're better than this!" she begged him,

"I was going to kill you" Draco said standing on his father's wrist, causing a loud crack!

"Draco please" Hermione said turning his face to look at her, "Please" she whispered. Draco let his wand arm drop,

"Remove him from out property Mother! Next time I will kill him!" he said placing an arm around Hermione and guiding her in doors,

"Draco?" His mother begged, but he kicked the door shut on her face.

Hermione guided Draco to the bathroom flicking her wand to start the bath filling,

"Sit down" she said moving to the cabinet and pulling out several Potions, "Drink this one" she said handing him a vile brown looking one, to numb his had so she could make sure that the bones where in the right position before giving him the potion to mend the bones, "Let me see" she whispered holding out her hand, he placed his injured hand in hers. "Can you feel this" she asked pinching his skin, he shook his head and be began manipulating the boned in his hand. Once she was sure it was all in the right place she gave him the second potion. While he drank the potion she moved to the airing cupboard pulling out fresh towels, when she turned she saw him sinking into the bath,

"Stay" he whispered as she placed the towels on the heater,

"Ok" she smiled sitting at the edge of the bath,

"I'm sorry" he whispered after a few minutes siled,

"What for" she smiled down at him,

"You don't need this stress" he whispered, "Join me" he asked, smiling she slipped out of her clothes and joined him in the warm soapy water, he wrapped his arms around her holding her close, she knew he was crying but didn't say anything just let him hold her tightly as the water washed away the stress.

The following morning Draco woke alone again,

"Hermione?" he said blinking away the sleep, getting up he poked his head out of the bedroom door thinking that she may have been in the bathroom but the light was off.

Returning to their rooms he pulled on a pair of jeans grabbed his wand and headed down stairs,

"Hermione please I just need to speak with him" he heard his mother's voice,

"Narcissa I'm sorry he is still in bed," Hermione sighed, "Please, I had to give him a dreamless sleep just to get him to sleep last night, I want him to sleep…"

"Draco!" Narcissa said,

"Draco, you're awake" Hermione turned to him,

"I was worried when I couldn't find you" he said, ignoring his mother,

"Draco" Narcissa was crying again, "please let me explain" she begged him, Draco just protectively wrapped his arms around Hermione,

"Draco" Hermione looked up at him, "Talk to her" she said hugging him back, "I'll boil the kettle she said as he loosened his grip on here,

"No, she had two minutes" Draco said, "That's not enough time to drink a tea" he said coldly,

"Draco, he showed up two days ago" Narcissa said, "I told him to leave, but he wouldn't, he was demanding to see you…he didn't know about Hermione until you arrived yesterday, I was trying to get him to leave…I don't want him near you, Hermione or the baby" she begged him, "But he is still the master of the manor, it won't eject him" she said not moving from the doorstep.

"Why didn't you send me an owl as soon as he arrived?" Draco snapped,

"I was trying to keep you from having to deal with him…you were happy" Narcissa sobbed, "I didn't want him to ruin that!"

"Draco, let you mother come in" Hermione was at his side and took his clenched fist in her hand, subconsciously his fist un-furled and their fingers intertwined. "Let's all sit down and talk" she said her thumb drawing circles on his skin,

"Fine" Draco said more calm this time, "Come in mother" he said allowing her to step over the threshold.

Draco dropped into one of the seats still holding Hermione's hand as his mother slipped into another chair. Narcissa didn't look herself, he perfect hair style replaced with flyaway hairs, no make-up and puffy red eyes,

"I'll go make us all a tea" Hermione said moving to take her hand from Draco's.

"No" Draco said, holding tighter, "You aren't leaving my sight" he said pulling her into his lap before she could argue.

"I contacted Potter and the Aurors" Narcissa said surprising both of them,

"What?" Draco searched her face for a hint of a lie,

"He threatened you, I warned him if he even thought of hurting you again, that would be it…and when he pulled a wand on Hermione when she is carrying your child, I pushed his luck too far" she said, "No one threatens my family" Narcissa said folding her hands in her lap, "Potter gave me permission to come and speak with you…but" she looked up at the kitchen clock, "He will be here soon" she said, "I'm sorry I won't be here to meet my grandchild, but it's worth it knowing that you are safe" she said as there was a knock at the door, no one moved,

"Hermione?" Harry's voice called from the other side of the door,

"It's open" Draco called, his eyes not leaving his mothers, as Harry entered,

"I'm sorry, times up Mrs Malfoy" Harry said softly,

"I know, thank you Mr Potter, I appreciate the time you allowed me" she said getting to her feet,

"Harry?" Hermione said,

"I'll do my best Hermione" he nodded, "after all she did hand him in" he said, "I don't need these do it" Harry said holing out shackles,

"No as promised I'll come peacefully" Narcissa nodded,

"I will call our lawyer" Draco said, "Thank you Potter" Draco nodded,

"I'll see you at the ministry" he nodded placing a hand on Narcissa's shoulder.

"Draco" Hermione whispered as their kitchen door closed,

"I'm ok…" he said, "She actually turned him in" he said burring his face in Hermione's shoulder.
