SUBARU'S POV
I wonder if anyone else heard that? Footsteps were coming from outside. I had to investigate; it could be dangerous. I ran outside the house, and as soon as I turned the corner, I ran into a girl. She looked to be about my age with scarlet eyes and long dark brown hair. She fell to the ground, landing on her butt.
"Ouch! Watch where you're going!" She snarled, flashing her fangs. I sneered and picked her up by her shirt, holding her a few inches off the ground.
"Maybe you shouldn't be lurking outside of people's houses, and you wouldn't get knocked down," I said coldly. She rolled her eyes, not affected in the slightest.
"This is my house! I have every right to be out here-" I slammed her up against the side of the house.
"What do you know about what was going on here?" I asked demandingly. She smirked and then started laughing.
"Everything, of course. I am in charge of it, after all." She said with a giant smile on her face. I growled and slammed her against the side of the house again.
"You Bitch! Why would you do something like this!?" I questioned angrily. It was taking all my strength to not rip this girl apart.
"For my father and my dear brother." She said, running her hand over my face. I shook her hand off my face and grimaced.
"What the hell, don't touch me!" I was just about ready to kill this bitch. But first, I had to get answers. Suddenly her smile disappeared, and she looked almost hurt. What was wrong with this girl. She pulled back and spoke softly; all her confidence from earlier was gone.
"Oh, right. I forgot you don't know. Well, I guess it's not important. Let me answer your earlier question. My father wanted revenge on you Sakamaki's for ruining his plans to be with his love Cordelia. Because you see, after my mother Christa died, my father said he would never love again. Until he met Cordelia. I snuck over to your house and watched your daily routines, and I was sickened! How dare you behave in such a way with a human girl of all things! Humans are food sources. My father ordered me and my cousins to take Yui. We would let Amaya stay, but after seeing how you acted with her, I decided she had to go. I let my cousins, the Mukami's, have her. I was then going to wait until my father came and give her to him." I stared at her in disbelief. This girl was crazy. Wait. Did she say, Christa?
"Wait, Christa Heinz is your mother?" I asked incredulously. She nodded
"Y-You are my sister?" She nodded eagerly. I scoffed.
"That's impossible! Karl Heinz never had a daughter." I stated. She had to be lying. There's no way she's my sister. She nodded in agreement.
"You're right, he didn't but, his brother did." I released my grip on her and allowed her feet to touch the ground. I opened my mouth but then closed it again. She gave me a mini curtsy.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Hana Heinz. Daughter of Richter and Christa Heinz. Sister of Subaru Sakamaki." She said in a sickeningly, polite tone. I cringed and then asked a question.
"Uncle Richter? You're his daughter?" She nodded again
"I thought it was my father who wanted Cordelia back?" I questioned. Hana shook her head.
"Uncle Karl could not stand Cordelia. Why would he want her back?" I shrugged and shook my head and furrowed my brows, trying to make sense of what she was saying.
"This makes no sense. If you are who you say you are, then why would you cause me so much pain by kidnapping the girl I love?" Hana sighed and placed her hand on her forehead in exasperation.
"I've already explained this, weren't you listening?" Her attitude was really starting to piss me off. Sister or not, I was about two seconds from killing her. Suddenly, we heard footsteps coming from the side of the house. I smelled the air. It was Amaya. Before I could stop her, Hana grabbed my hands and placed them on her hips, then she kissed me full on the lips, long and deep. Amaya walked around the corner and gasped.
"S-Subaru!?" She whispered softly. I tried to pull away from Hana, but she had me in an iron grip. Amaya covered her mouth and ran back to the house. Even when she left, Hana didn't move her lips, but she did loosen her grip enough to where I could push her off me.
"Hana, what are you doing!?" I asked her as I held her at arm's length by the shoulders. Her poker face didn't give a thing away.
"I want you Subaru," My face twisted in disgust.
"You're my sister, that's gross!" Hana covered her mouth with her hand and looked down. Her hair covered her face, obscuring her expression. She started giggling, and that turned into a full laugh. She lifted her head up, still laughing.
"What an idiot! You actually believed me! I am not your sister!" She said, laughing harder. She regained control and sighed happily before speaking. "I am of no relation to you whatsoever. I am the Mukami brother's sister." Alright, now I really am about to kill this bitch. I opened my mouth to speak, but she beat me to the punch.
"I love my Kou!" She gushed
"I love how he did all those things to Amaya. Just wonderful. Even though I wished he could have tortured her like Ruki did," She giggled before continuing.
"Hearing her screams of pain was just the most beautiful sound." She continued to say.
"Serves the bitch right! Hogging all the hot guys for herself." She said in a pouty tone and ran her hand over my chest. Is it okay to kill her now? I pushed her away from me. She fell to the ground. I felt around in my pocket for my dagger and smiled, glad Reiji gave me my dagger back. I jumped on Hana, if that's even her real name, and straddled her holding the stake over her heart. Suddenly a voice pierced through the night.
"Hey! Stop! Hana, I told you not to come back!" A boy with black hair and red eyes came running out from behind a tree. How did I not smell him? I still had Hana pinned to the ground and was ready to drive the dagger through her heart. When she spoke from underneath me, her voice was soft and child-like.
"R-Ruki...I'm sorry" Hana looked away from him, ashamed. Ruki walked up to me and pulled Hana from under me. I jumped up, ready to defend myself. He stood her up, dusted off her clothes before straightening his own, and turned to me.
"It seems I'm going to have to kill you for trying to hurt my little sister," Ruki said with a bit of regret and then shrugged.
"Oh well, I guess it can't be help." I held out my dagger in front of me.
"The hell it can't! You're one of the bastards who tortured Amaya and Yui!" Ruki smirked
"No. Not one of them. I'm the one who controlled it." He stated with a smug smile. I growled lowly. That's it! He and that bitch are fucking dead! I charged at them with all I had.
-AMAYA'S P.O.V.-
"Subaru has been gone for quite a while. I'm going to go look for him." I said quietly as I walked out of the house. I looked around for a while and found nothing. I was about to give up when I heard a noise coming from the side of the house. I quietly walked around to the side of the house, cautious of any potential danger. I was shocked by what I saw
"S-Subaru!?" I whispered quietly in question. How could this be? Subaru had a girl pressed up against the house. His hands were on her hips as they kissed passionately. I felt a sharp pang in my chest as I covered my mouth to keep a sob from escaping. I turned around and ran back to the house as tears filled my eyes. I can't believe he would do something like this. No. There had to be a logical explanation. I pushed that awful scene to the deepest part of my mind. I stopped right before I got to the door when I could hear shouting. I could just barely make out my and Yui's captors' name, and I think I heard the word sister. Then another voice came in. It was Ruki! I took a few steps back to try and hear better. I listened intently.
"Kill you...Tried to hurt...sister." I gasped. I clearly heard him say, 'kill you.' Oh no! Subaru! I quickly spun around on my heels to help him but ran right into a hard body. I looked up at the boy with blonde hair and groaned.
"Why did it have to be you?" I deadpanned.
"Did you miss me, M Neko-chan?" Kou chirped and gave me a charming smile. I rolled my eyes.
"No," I said and started to walk away from him. Kou laughed and grabbed me by the waist. Fuck. Not again.
"Let's go join the fun." He says. Suddenly there was a strong gust of air, and then I was standing in front of Ruki and the girl I saw Subaru kissing. I also noticed Subaru was running towards us with his dagger!
"Now, Subaru, do you really want to do that?" Kou said as he used me for a shield, I struggled in his grasp, causing Kou to tsked at me.
"Now, Now M Neko-chan, stop moving so much. Shields don't move." Kou wrapped his hand around my throat. I let out a small gasp as my airflow was slightly restricted.
"Subaru," He warned with a sadistic smile.
"It would be too easy to snap her neck. I suggest you drop the dagger and kick it over here." He says matter-of-factly. Subaru immediately dropped the dagger and kicked it over to him. I watched as the girl picked up the dagger. With a small giggle, she spoke.
"Like I said, you really are an idiot." She said, gripping the dagger tightly. We all watched her in suspense. What was she doing?
"Hana, what are you planning to do?" Kou asked her, his eyes dancing with a sadistic delight. So, her name is Hana. Two more boys appeared beside Hana.
"Have we missed all the fun?" The giant called Yuma asked.
"Azusa. Yuma. Glad you could join." Hana says and looks at each of the boys. You know he is coming tomorrow, right?" She asks with a raised eyebrow. The two boys nod. Ruki speaks next.
"We need to get Yui. Go get her." He says and then holds up his hand, telling them to wait.
"Let me come with you. I believe she is being guarded by the other Sakamaki's," They nodded and then left, with Ruki leading. After they had gone, Hana tapped the dagger gently against her hand.
"Now. Where was I? Oh, I remember." She grinned cruelly and then frowned.
"Subaru, I don't take rejection lightly. As punishment for rejecting me, you will watch your loved one die. Slowly and painfully." Subaru snarled and started to charge at her. Hana made a noise of disapproval and raised the knife, slashing it against my arm. I cried out in pain and gripped my arm as blood dripped from my open wound. Yuma then appeared next to us, with Yui struggling on his shoulders. I tried to wrench myself from Kou's grasp, to get to Yui.
"Yui!" I screamed. Hana brought the dagger down again and slashed my other arm. The pain was so intense that my knees buckled. Kou released my arms and allowed me to fall to the ground. Yuma walked over to me and knelt down so he could peer into my eyes. He grabbed my chin.
"What a nice expression." He said as he laughed and walked away.
"Don't you fucking touch her!" Subaru yelled and again made an attempt to come to me. Hana raised the dagger to my throat, and he stopped.
"Now, now, you behave yourself, dear Subaru," She said sweetly. He let out a yell of anger before resigning himself to watch. I saw a flicker of light in his eyes as he mouthed 'I'll be back' to me before sneaking away. Azusa came back shortly after that. Kou's brows furrowed.
"Where's Ruki?" He asked Azusa. Azusa shrugged.
"He had...Business to...Take care of." He replied monotonously. Kou clicked his tongue and walked back towards the house; Azusa followed.
"Father says that he doesn't care if Yui is dead or alive. He can do with both." The girl states matter-factly. Dead? They are going to kill Yui!? I used the rest of my strength to stand up and wobbled towards Yuma.
"No, please. Don't kill her," I begged him as I dropped down to my knees in front of him. Yuma ignored me and looked to Hana.
"Bring her to me," Hana commands. Yuma does as he is told and put Yui down in front of her. Hana grabs the shaking Yui and puts the dagger to her throat.
"Go make sure the Sajanaki's are taken care of," She says, and Yuma leaves.
"Amaya," Yui whispers softly. She has tears filling her eyes that continuously stream down her red puffy cheeks. I try to stand up again, but I'm losing too much blood.
"Why?" Hana removes the dagger from Yui's throat.
"You both can have any of those guys you want! It's not fair. You're humans," She spits the word out as if it were venom in her mouth.
"They should be with vampires, like me!" She brought down the dagger down and slashed it across Yui's throat. Blood poured out of Yui like a fountain, and she fell lifeless to the ground. Hana laughed and licked the blood off the dagger.
"Oops," Hana giggles. I look down at Yui's still body. Her eyes were wide open, staring into nothingness. NO. No. It can't be true.
"Yui! No! Why!?" I cried and collapsed to the floor. My chest heart so much. My Yui. My best friend. Is she really gone? Without Yui, I have no reason to live. Hana walked over to me, dagger in her hand, still dripping with Yui's blood. She fake yawned.
"This is getting boring. Can I just kill her? Or does someone want a drink?" She asked no one in particular. I closed my eyes as she held the dagger over me. Fine. I'd rather die than be without Yui. Suddenly a cheerful voice rang through the night.
"Some of Whore-Chan's blood? I'll take some. It sounds delicious!" Laito said in answer to her earlier question. I turned around weakly to see Ayato, Laito, Kanato, Reiji, and Shu standing there, and Subaru was close behind. Hana growled.
"No. I won't let you be saved, die!" She screamed as she plunged the dagger into my stomach and twisted. I let out a gut wrenching cry. My insides felt like they had been lit on fire. I curled up in the fetal position gasping. I felt Hana's foot make contact with my side, and I rolled over. My face met with the ground, and I tasted dirt. I coughed, and a large amount of blood spilled out my mouth, and a new wave of pain washed over me. I screamed and cried. I tried to talk but instead choked on my own blood. I could barely breathe, and the pain was so intense. Is this what it's like to die? The dots are back in my vision. I think this may be the end for me.
-SUBARU'S P.O.V.-
"Amaya!" I yelled as I saw Hana plunge the dagger into her stomach. I heard Ayato growl as he saw Yui lying on the floor, and then I saw red. All I remember is charging at her, and then the next thing I know, Hana and the Mukami's are lying limp with wounds in their chests. I didn't really care about that. I ran to Amaya. Her eyes were half-way open, and her skin had become pale and cold. I listened for a pulse, and there was nothing. I buried my hands in her hair and quietly sobbed. But then, I remembered, I can just change her into a vampire! Ayato was way ahead of me with Yui. Reiji came and put his hand on Ayato's shoulder.
"It's too late. She's been dead for more then 10 minutes." He said solemnly and then turned to me.
"Same for you, Subaru. I'm afraid they are gone.." I shook my head and bit into Amaya's neck, nothing. I bit every single place that skin was showing, but still nothing. I ran my finger through her beautiful teal hair. That's always been my favorite thing about her appearance. I love her so much. Amaya. I love you. What am I going to do without you? Tears streamed down my face. I looked up as I felt someone tap my shoulder. Kanato was standing there with his Teddy; tears were in his eyes too. Kanato leaned down and gave me a light hug. Ayato and I aren't the only ones who will miss them. They meant something to everyone, even Laito, who was crying like a baby on Reiji's shoulders.
We took Yui and Amaya's bodies home with us. I laid Amaya in my room and fell asleep with her, eight words going through my head.
What are we going to do without them?
