"T-they're t-terrified of you... L-let me h-handle t-this."
He knew it shouldn't have bothered him so much, he was pretty much asking for it, but it seemed to sting... People see him and become horrified that they will soon die, and for the infamous killer, that should make him happy. But...
"Coming out here won't make things any better, Jeffrey." The soft voice of his best friend spoke from beside him.
"I know that, it probably makes it worse actually, but I don't know... It feels like this could be a real help in the future." Jeff spoke back.
Ben sighed, floating in the air beside Jeff.
"Do you think people like us... Can ever get a redemption?" Jeff asked.
"That's hard to tell, though it wouldn't be easy I am afraid." Ben spoke.
Jeff sighed.
"I suppose you're right." He replied.
"...I've made note of two people on my scan. Wait no... Three." Ben said.
"Okay? And?" Jeff asked.
"They're coming this way." Ben answered.
Jeff slipped behind a tree while the footsteps come closer.
"Any idea where precisely it's coming from?" A young male voice asked.
"No clue! But they appear really powerful!" A young female said.
"They're clearly behind the tree..." A deep teenager's voice spoke.
Slowly, footfall after footfall, they approached. Jeff then stepped out and two of them jumped back.
"Oh my God!" The girl squeaked.
"J-Jeff the killer?!" One of the two young males exclaimed.
The third of the group didn't seemed phased. Jeff seemed interested as to why.
"Aren't you scared of me?" Jeff asked.
"Should I be?" The teen asked.
"Yeah!" The other teenage boy yelled.
"Yes!" The girl yelled.
Ben started looking at some sort of hologram thing only he could fully understand, and he seemed shocked.
"These stats... Jeffrey, they're close to yours! Only a few things are different... Meaning either this kid is equal or a little weaker or a little stronger, but fighting him may not be a good idea." Ben said.
"Even in sanity? Because if his is close to mine than he needs help." Jeff joked.
"Well no... He has eight out of ten on sanity." Ben spoke.
"Just an eight...?" The one asked.
"That would be even scarier than Jeff- no offense!" The girl exclaimed.
"None taken, if this kid is like me now on various things, he may be even more capable than me if he snapped." Jeff said.
"Why are you calling me kid?" The teen asked.
"His name is Seth." Ben said quickly.
"How did you...?" Seth questioned.
"Long story." Ben said.
"Well um... I think we have things we have to do..." The one said.
"We're trying to find where Hilda is, meaning we don't know where we need to go." Seth said.
"I think they're just trying to put some distance between all of you and us." Ben said, "though I don't see much of a reason for us to split up, I'm reading up on this 'Hilda' right now, are you talking about Paradox?"
"Yes, we are." Seth answered.
"Well then, me and Jeff may be able to help." Ben said.
"Faster she's dealt with the better." Seth spoke.
Ben glanced at Seth's stats again.
"I really don't like how your sanity stat seems to change..." Ben said.
"What?" Seth asked.
"When you said that it changed to seven, then changed back." Ben said.
"That's... That's very concerning..." The girl said."
"A lot of people have that, it's just... Normally not in trained killers." Ben said.
"Trained killer?" Jeff asked.
"Seth is an assassin, and one of the best out there." Ben said.
"Oh... Well, people will be scared of this little group." Jeff said.
"Infamous serial killer, one of the greatest assassins, a super powered ghost who haunts video games..." The one trailed off.
"The infamous wildcard and the gallant girl." Ben said.
"Wildcard? Oh yeah yeah... Hey wait a second, Ben, is Seth The Assassin?" Jeff asked.
"He's... Heard of Seth." The girl said.
Seth nodded.
"That is what people call me." Seth spoke.
"Well, isn't this good luck? We can help you, but maybe you can help us." Jeff said.
"Jeff, that won't work!" Ben said.
"I know you've checked that, but maybe with some potions we can pull the impossible?" Jeff suggested.
"We are not getting them into that, they could die." Ben said.
"I'm confused..." The one said.
"If you have something to ask of us, let us decide rather or not we can help." Seth said.
Ben sighed.
"Well, I sort of want to change my ways." Jeffrey said.
"And what has that got to do with us?" The one asked.
"Well, I sort of... Have to be redeemed in the public eye, or else... Well, I'm Jeff the killer, you know that my past is inescapable." Jeff said.
"Okay...?" The one questioned.
"Why do you precisely want us to help you, Jeff?" Seth asked.
"I have an idea, but we have to kill a powerful demon." Jeff said.
"See? BAD IDEA!" Ben stated.
"You want us to help you kill Slenderman, I guess?" Seth asked.
"Wow, you know about Slenderman?" The one asked.
"It was a joke, Hyde. I've seen some movie or video game in the story about it." Seth said.
"Oh... Well, your joke was spot on." Jeff said.
"I was afraid of that..." Hyde said.
"I... Did not know he was real." Seth said.
"He is." Ben said.
"Well umm... We still have to deal with Hilda and Kuon and various others who want to kill us so we maybe shouldn't-" Hyde started.
"Do you have a location for planning this out, or do we need to find one?" Seth asked.
"And I think he just agreed..." Hyde said.
"We have a location, though if you have a better one that would be good." Jeff said.
"As long as there is room for everyone who will be involved, a table that's either big enough for refreshments and written strategies and varying other things needed, or a board we can pin the information on, multiple places to enter from, or exit. And holy water I suppose." Seth listed.
"Should we get a spaceship?" Ben asked.
"That would be nearly impossible to get and we wouldn't have quite enough room." Seth said.
"What about the one from Among Us?" Ben asked.
"What's Among Us?" Seth asked.
"It's a game..." Ben said.
"How would we get a spaceship out of a video game?" Seth asked.
"We have BEN Drowned." Jeff said.
"After the Hollow Night, I'll do some of my magic." Ben said.
"This is great... We've teamed up with a ghost and serial killer, and now we're about to steal a ship from a video game." Hyde said.
"I still don't like this idea, but if you're in, I won't argue." Ben said.
"Seth's stubborn... And he will probably need a little backup, considering what you're planning on doing... This is the worst idea in existence." Hyde said.
"He's trying to get redemption for his past, that... Is something I can understand entirely." Seth said.
"And, we can help end the Night." Ben said.
Seth looked at Ben.
"I don't like how much you know about me, but that is the only thing I dislike about you." Seth said.
"Should we make like... Some sort of name for our group here? Ya know, the lot of us and anyone else we feel could be helpful." Jeff said.
"Yeah, that would make sense. Maybe like... I'm not good with names." Seth said.
"The heroes... Maybe?" Ben suggested.
"Night Lights?" The girl suggested.
"What?" Ben asked.
"Trying to save people from the Night, while killing demons and such... So Night Lights." She said.
"Seth is one of the group though." Hyde said.
"That's a good point." The girl said.
"Seth, you hearing them?" Ben asked.
"Yeah, they make jokes like that on the daily..." Seth said.
Ben glanced at the hologram again.
"Someone else is... Shit, we have to move." Ben said.
"What's going on?" The girl asked.
"Jane." Ben said.
"Yeah, that would be bad... Where should we go?" Hyde asked.
Seth looked confused.
"Who's Jane?" Seth asked.
"I sort of killed her family and friends..." Jeff said.
"Okayyyy..."
"Yeah... Only two people ever survived Jeff, Jane and Liu." Hyde said.
"Liu...? That name sounds familiar..." Seth said.
"Really?" Hyde asked.
"He's a In-Birth... Yeah, he got into a big fight with a lot of others and he kept switching between Liu and some split personality, Sully. I was worried about him after that because he was so unstable so I gave him my phone number so that if he ever had a problem he could call me." Seth said.
"He's my brother..." Jeff said.
Seth paused and Ben seemed worried.
"Um... Jeff, maybe you shouldn't mention that because Seth's sanity dropped majorly after you said that..." Ben said.
"He... Still cares about you... He mentioned that he knew who tried to kill him, but wouldn't go into detail... He wanted to help you, Sully hates you but Liu misses you... He's worried about you..." Seth said.
No one could figure out what he was about to do, he was shaking and his eyes were wide, he looked almost crazed.
"Seth... Are you alright?" Hyde asked.
"It's... Strange... I knew whoever tried to kill him meant a lot to him... But his brother?"
"Thank you." Jeff said.
Seth looked at him.
"Thanks for being willing to help him." Jeff said.
Seth started to calm down, his crazed look going away.
"You should contact him soon, he worries about you." Seth said.
"Of course! Let's just deal with the problems currently at hand." Jeff said.
"Yeah." Seth said.
"His sanity is back to normal." Ben said.
The night skies echo blood as Jeff the killer and the Assassin who wanders the Night team up, but nothing is stable when the name Slenderman is put into the mix. Shown simply by the near break of the calm and collected assassin that is Seth. Moving to change the world and planning what would be both risky and dangerous, can they save lives while keeping their own? Okay I am being overdramatic hahaha. Hope you enjoyed the first chapter (cue a very long pog) of FHRFHM (I need to stop with the long names, and I may rename this but we'll see.)
