"Lazarus pit and before you say anything. Yes it is real."
This was too much. His brother was dead, supposed to be six feet under. Yet here he was and deep down Dick knew that the brother he had grown to love was most likely still dead, yet the feeling that just maybe he wasn't alone anymore was enough for him to drop his guard
"Now I have a question why the fuck is the Joker still alive."
"Jay, you know the rule."
"Fuck the rules. That bastard should be dead." It was obvious to Dick that he was pissed. To be fair Dick had wanted that asshole dead too and he almost succeeded in killing him had it not been for Batman.
"Or maybe he should've been thrown a party for getting rid of the disappointment in the family."
"Jay-"
"Don't call me that, you lost the right to call me that when you chose a stupid rule over your brother."
That hurt, but it was fair. Dick had lost the right to be in many people's lives from the Young Justice Team to even the Justice League. The only people who still seemed to be able to put up with him were the Titans and Damian and even then he hasn't seen the Titans in months and Damian seemed to grow even more irritated with him as time went on.
It was honestly the real reason he came to Gotham today. He couldn't deal with the disappointment in other peoples eyes when they looked at him and just wanted to feel good about himself by remembering the one person that didn't look at him like scum, but that was obviously thrown out the window at this point. Too bad Jason couldn't see that the only disappointment in the family was right in front of him.
"You know I could just kill you right now. It would be quite ironic, you dead on my grave, killed by the person who is supposed to be in that casket. I would send a message to Bruce and all the other leaguers who value a dumb rule over someone else's life."
"Jay please." Dick didn't even know why he was trying to stop him, it would probably be better if he wasn't alive anymore, hell it would be easier to name the people who wouldn't be happy about it then it would be to name the people who would be. However, Dick knew it wouldn't stop with him, Jason will probably try to kill everyone that he believed failed him and Dick knew Jason was probably strong enough to do it.
"Believe me Dick I really want to, but you were once my brother and I think it would be much more fun if all the people you love watched as you died."
With those finale words blackness erupted Dick's vision and he soon felt himself drift into the darkness.
