The first thing I remember, was the hospital roof when I woke up. Everything else before that was all black. The second thing I notice was a handcuff around my wrist and connected to my bed. Before I can do anything the door opened and someone who I quickly assumed to be a doctor walked in.

"Oh, you are awake." He said in surprise.

Behind him came two other people. I knew they weren't doctors or nurses by their wardrobe. One of them had a long trench coat and a somewhat casual suit underneath. His hair was short and black. The other one wore a police uniform, for some reason his head looked like a cat. Literally.

"If she is awake can I question her a bit?" A man in a trench coat asked.

"Fine. But be careful, she just woke up." The doctor warned him.

The man sat next to my bed before he introduced himself.

"I'm inspector Naomasa Tsukauchi. And this is officer Sansa Tamakawa. We would like to take a few questions.

That wasn't good. Did I do something bad before all this? I decide to wait to hear his questions first before asking him anything else.

"Do you know this man?" Inspector asked and showed me a picture of a man with black short hair and very straight eyes.

"No. I don't remember him." I answered.

"Then do you know any of these people?" He asked and showed another picture.

This one had four people in it. Two women and two men. One of the women had black bob hair, while the other had long brown hair. The men in the picture had both short neat dark hair. All four were smiling and laughing.

"Sorry, I don't recognize anyone from this," I answered after taking a good look at each of them.

"Not even yourself?" Tsukauchi asked surprisingly.

"Me? Which one?" I asked.

Tsukauchi pointed at the woman with long brown hair. I looked at the picture again. I still didn't recognize myself. Did I look like that? I seemed happy with these people. Were they my friends? Or family.

"Inspector, it might be best to end for today. We have to work delicately if you need her to remember anything.

"You are right. Thank you so far for your cooperation. We will come back tomorrow." Tsukauchi said to me as he got up from his seat.

"Inspector, would you also please remove the handcuffs? She isn't well to go anywhere anyway." Doctor asked.

After releasing my hand in front of the cuffs, I was told what had happened. According to the doctor, I had been found unconscious three months ago. Not only that but all personal info about me didn't exist. There was no record of me living anywhere, arriving through the airport and no one had informed me that I was missing.

One thing that did take me by surprise was that most of the people had something called quirks. It came up during my checkup. And it explained a few things that I saw around me. Some people had a unique appearance but I was told that this was because of their quirks. And also since many people had quirks there were "heroes" who used their quirks for good. And "villains" who would use their quirks for bad.

Tsukauchi came back as promised and kept visiting me daily. From time to time he asked if there was anything that I remembered to help identify me or about the man in the picture. Sadly, I couldn't remember anything at all.

One day, Tsukauchi brought someone else with him. He said that maybe meeting someone who was even remotely familiar would help me remember something. And apparently, this person was famous around the world.

"Hello, I am here!" Announced the visitor his arrival.

I could tell he was famous. The doctor and the nurse were so surprised that they almost forgot what they were doing in my room. Luckily it wasn't to get blood tests.

"I'm sorry, but who are you again?" I asked.

Everyone in the room was shocked. Or at least looked like it. I didn't know if the visitor was most shocked of them all.

"You didn't say it was this bad." He mumbled to Tsukauchi.

"Well, we had to explain to her about quirks, heroes, and villains. But I thought that seeing you might trigger something."

Days went by after that and I still hadn't regained my memory. Now besides Tsukauchi, I got a new regular visitor. His name was All Might. He wanted to help with regaining my memory. And since I didn't recognize him before he got more worried. It was nice to have visitors.

"So the quirks manifest at age of five?" I asked Tsukauchi who was visiting me again.

When he wasn't asking about the people in the picture. He tried to find a clue about my identity. And apparently, there should be a registry of all people with quirks.

"At the latest. Once the quirks manifest all children are registered so we know about their quirks. This makes it easier to identify villains if they used their quirks for crimes." Tsukauchi explained.

"What if I don't have a quirk?" I asked.

"You would still be registered as quirkless. This would also help doctors to treat you correctly." Tsukauchi answered.

"I am here, with some cakes" All Might announced his arrival at the door.

He carried a little plastic bag which held the cakes he mentioned.

"Aww. You shouldn't have brought anything." I said as I accepted the gifts.

"There were given to me after arresting a villain trying to rob the bakery. I thought maybe you would like something sweet after a while." All Might told me.

"Thank you All Bright." I thanked him.

"It's All Might." Tsukauchi corrected.

"Sorry. It's just that… he smiles so brightly that I mix it in the name." I apologized.

"It's all right. If it's easier to remember then call me that." All Might laughed.

"Well, since we got some sweets how about some tea? I'll go get some hot water and extra cups. Make yourself comfortable." I said as I got up and left the room leaving the two men alone.

I didn't see it but after I left, All Might's body began to let out steam and suddenly his muscular form disappeared and turned into a skinnier version of himself.

"Got any leads of her?" Asked the smaller All Might.

"No. There is nothing. And she remembers nothing. It's worrying me. It's as if she never existed. I have asked someone to look for her from other countries but it hasn't worked either." Tsukauchi reported.

"I'm more worried about this man you keep mentioning to her. Are you sure he worked for HIM?" All Might asked.

There was a moment of silence. Both men weren't comfortable mentioning the villain All Might had to fight three years ago. He had won but it came with a cost. He had lost his whole stomach and some of his lungs.

"Yes. He had several supporters and we have confirmed he is one of them. But when we almost got to him we found her. And we still don't know the connection. I hoped she could explain some things, but if she can't even remember her friends…" Tsukauchi explained.

"Her memory might be suppressed by trauma before she went unconscious." All Might thought out loud. "What will happen to her later?"

"I don't know. Since we have no address or any indication of her identity. She might end up alone on the streets. I simply don't know." Tsukauchi sighed.

They didn't know but I had come back faster than expected and I had heard most of their conversation. I felt so sad and angry at myself. I knew they were here to see me in order to get some clues about the villain I had been mentioned time and time again. But I couldn't give them anything to work with. But I was also scared of what might happen to me once they don't need me anymore.

I decide to step into the room. So I announced my arrival before I opened the door.

"I'm back. I got some thermal jug with hot water."

The very second I walked in I could have sworn that I saw smoke in my room. But since Tsukauchi and All Might both seemed fine and unchanged in my eyes, I didn't know that All Might had changed forms during my absence. I served both of them tea and shared the pastries All Might had brought to me. Right after I had taken a sip of my tea, officer Sansa rushed to my room. He called Tsukauchi out of the room so they could talk. After a moment Tsukauchi walked back in but he seemed a bit worried.

"Has something happened?" All Might asked.

"Um… we found the three people from the picture with you," Tsukauchi said to me.

"Really? Are they all alright? Where have they been? When can I see them?" I kept asking him a bit excited.

He looked troubled by something. As if he was about to say something but didn't want to. Or he didn't know how to say. Finally, he took a breath before he let the news out.

"They are dead."

It felt as if someone had hit me with a club to my head and now my ears were ringing.

We have a deal.

The cup I had in my hands fell and all the hot liquid splashed on my lap. But I felt cold. I didn't even feel the burning.

Nothing will happen to them if you behave.

I saw All Might and Tsukauchi looking at me with worry and distress. They also said something but I couldn't hear it.

Tomorrow is your initiation.

I saw the doctor and nurse rushing to my room, but I can't hear what they said.

I have high expectations for you.

I was moved to my bed and wet clothes were placed on my abdomen and thighs. I was looking at the roof before my eyes closed and everything went black.

My name is M.

Then I remembered everything.
