in this The kids are between 13 and 15 in this. (minus clot, who is at least 5 years younger than the other kids, and Ashley who is like 300 and still stuck as an un-aging pile of ash.)
A mint green pickup truck drove across the draw bridge and pulled into the castle area. The wind was cold and fast. A short woman in a fluffy green coat jumped out of the truck and slammed the door shut, struggling to with the wind. She quickly pulled a suitcase out of the truck bed and scurried to the castle doors, which were quickly opened for her. She was quickly met with the gazes of 8 people.
"Welcome to our school Miss Greenvein." Alric spoke formally.
"Yes, welcome! The Count has informed us that you are our new neighbor, and how your heater broke." Oxblood smiled and greeted her. "I am Professor Oxblood."
"and I am Lady Kryptina." The woman in white introduced herself as well.
Amira heard a scuffle behind her, the person who opened and closed the door.
"I am the custodian, Lenny. If you need anything, just let me know." The blond man grinned.
"And these are the students;" Alric gestured to the kids standing next to him. "Oskar, Gothetta, Leechy, Stoker, Clot, and Ashley.
Amira raised a brow, she heard 6 names, but only saw 5 kids. Then she noticed the littlest child had a metal stroller with him, in it was a pile of ash. The ash had a face.
"Yeah, I'm alive." The grey pile spoke, surprising Amira.
She chuckled embarrassedly.
"I'm sorry if I stared, I just didn't know that vampire ash was, well, alive." She smiled nervously.
"It's not common, though it weirdly runs in the family." Ashley responded dryly.
Oxblood stepped into the conversation;
"Sometimes the soul of a vampire will attach itself to his or her ash pile, it's rare and even many vampires are unaware it can happen." He explained further.
"Huh, the more ya know." She chuckled slightly.
"Well, I'm Amira, It's a pleasure to meet you all. I hope I haven't made a horrible first impression." She laughed.
"No, certainly not." The Count gave a very slight smile.
Stoker started to sniff the air, then he raised a brow at Amira.
"I smell blood." He stated rather confusedly, tilting his head at her in confusion. "Why do you smell of blood?" he asked her rather bluntly.
Her face flushed.
"Because, uh, I have it running through my veins." She chuckled awkwardly.
"No, I smell blood on you. Why do you-" Stoker was cut off as the Count grabbed him and clamped a hand over the child's mouth.
Alric coughed and gave the woman a slight apologetic look.
"Lenny, perhaps you should show Miss Greenvein to her room."
"Oh, yes Count, right this way Miss." The blond custodian led Amira down the hall.
As soon as they were out of sight, Alric put Stoker back down.
"What did I do wrong?" Stoker exclaimed.
The Count groaned and pinched the brim of his nose in annoyance. He heard Kryptina making a rather bizarre noise, he looked over to see her struggling her hardest not to laugh.
"Kryptina! Don't laugh at the poor woman!"
"I'm not! I'm laughing at you!" She snickered wildly.
"What?" He raised a brow.
"That is the fastest I've ever seen you move." She laughed dryly.
He gave her a look of annoyance.
"So, is someone going to tell me what I did wrong?" Stoker continued.
"I will explain to you all later why that is a rude question to ask, for now, all of you are to stay around the Crypt. Do not bother our guest."
Kryptina left, and the students headed down to the crypt, meanwhile Alric went off to find their new guest.
-In The Crypt-
Gothetta was drawling in her sketch book, Leechy was fiddling around with some sort of remote, Clot was playing dolls with Ashley, Oskar was reading, and Stoker was angrily pacing back and forth.
"What did I say to deserve such anger from the Count?!" The Dracula looking child grumbled angrily.
"Well, for one thing, it's very rude to point out the way people smell." Gothetta scolded, not even bothering to look up from her sketchbook.
Oskar pretended not to watch the conversation, deciding it best he play dumb. He didn't exactly know why Sunshine occasionally smelled of blood, but he got the feeling it was none of his business, so he never asked her about. Well, that and there was really no way to ask her without being rude and/or revealing his actual species. He had thought it weird the first time he noticed the smell on her, but she seemed fine, so he wasn't too concerned. Then he noticed the smell on other humans, almost always women. He had put the dots together and figured out that whatever the reason was, it was connected to gender, and thus not something he wanted to look into.
Ashley spoke up;
"So, what did you guys think of that Miss Amira lady?"
"She seemed nice," Leechy responded simply.
"No opinion." Gothetta answered.
"She's a human." Stoker snapped meanly.
"No she's not, she's a witch!" Oskar snapped back.
"Well she doesn't dress like one!"
"That doesn't mean anything!"
The two started to argue, but then Clot interrupted;
"Do you think he's gonna marry her?" the little vampire asked rather bluntly.
Everyone turned to look at Clot, confused looks plastered on their faces.
"Marry who?"
"The Count? Do you think he's gonna marry her?"
They all burst into laughter.
"What gave you that idea, Clot?" Leechy chuckled.
"Well, he just seemed really happy when talking to her…" Clot frowned, not enjoying the laughter at his expense.
"He seemed his normal stoic self to me. Perhaps a little more welcoming, but he does that with any new guest." Gottheta added.
"It would certainly be interesting If the Count got himself a girl." Ashley smirked.
"Him? Get a girlfriend? Pff, the old grump doesn't have a chance with a personality like that!" Stoker laughed meanly.
"Oh, and your personality is so much more charming?" Oskar snapped sarcastically.
"I'm going to ignore that." Stoker snapped back. "But, then again…It would make more sense if that lady was his girlfriend." He snickered.
"How so?" Leechy chirped in.
"A heater breaking right before a blizzard? Unlikely. I bet he lied so he'd have an excuse to bring her here!" Stoker exclaimed.
Oskar pinched the brim of his nose with annoyance. "But, why?"
"So they could…you know…do things." Stoker gestured vaguely, expecting the others to fill in the blank.
"Things?" Oskar asked, disturbed at where this was going.
"You know, that gross mushy romantic thing that adults do." Stoker responded, clearly disturbed.
Oskar groaned in frustration.
"Stoker, none of that theory makes any sense! First off, he'd never bring a girlfriend here."
"Why not?"
"Cause you're here."
Impressed howls came from the other students. (minus Clot)
"Oskar!?" Ashley laughed in astonishment.
"I believe that is what people would call, a 'roast.'" Leechy stated with a smirk.
"Why you?!" And with that, Stoker tackled Oskar to the ground, and a fight started.
