Bill screamed as she fell in a hole and slid down a tunnel, landing with a thud.

"Bill? Bill? Bill! Bill!" the Doctor called, running to the hole, "Hang on! I'll come get you!" He turned to Nardole. "Go back to the TARDIS. Get ropes and lifting gear. That hole is so tight I'm not sure I'll be able to fly back up with a passenger." The Doctor tucked in his arms and slowly floated down the hole. He heard the TARDIS dematerializing and flew back up. "Nardole, what are you doing?!"

The Doctor heard a heavy, armored stomping behind him. He turned toward the stomping and an Ice Warrior appeared with a slash across his helmet and a blind eye. "So this could go very well or very badly." He took a breath as the Ice Warrior approached. "Halt!"

The Ice Warrior obeyed.

"By the moons, I honour thee," the Doctor said, surprised it worked, "I'm the Doctor. What is your name?"

The Ice Warrior just growled.

"I know your people of old. I was once an Honorary Guardian of the Tythonian Hive."

Before the Ice Warrior could respond, the Doctor heard the sound of a rifle bolt behind him.

"Don't move," a voice behind him said, "I'll sort this beggar out."

The Doctor turned around to see a Victorian Redcoat with a white pith helmet and a rifle pointed at him. "No, no, no, no! You don't understand. This creature is no threat. He may look like a monster to you-." The Doctor jumped into the air, pulling his feet up, when a bullet shot at the ground in front of him.

"I wasn't talking to you. Are you all right, Friday?"

"Sir," Friday the Ice Warrior responded.

Catchlove climbed the Gargantua and sat at the controls. "Arms at the ready!"

Friday appeared in the doorway to his Emperor's chamber. Catchlove began the slow process of turning the Gargantua's laser toward Friday and the chamber entrance.

"No! No! Don't shoot him!" Bill shouted.

The Doctor floated up between the weapon and the Ice Warrior, distracting Catchlove for Bill to climb up behind him. "Down! Put your guns down!" he shouted.

Bill knocked the laser the wrong direction just as Catchlove fired.

"What the?!" Catchlove growled.

The blast showered rocks down, blocking the entrance. The soldiers cheered.

"That will hold them!" Catchlove exclaimed.

Bill ran to the Doctor as he floated to the ground.

"Oh, and for the last time, get these wretched people out of my sight," Catchlove said, "Put them in the brig, too. There's no room for civilians here."

The Doctor quickly grabbed Bill and flew up out of reach, but he struggled to stay still in the air.

"Of course, if you'd like you could just shoot them."

A few soldiers raised their guns toward the Doctor and Bill. He slowly floated down again, glowering at Catchlove.

"That's better," Catchlove said.

"This isn't over, Catchlove," the Doctor growled.

"No. It ain't. Not now Neville Catchlove's in charge."
