Mike had given out a call to the whole ship to get to their stations just in case the boat they were getting closer to, was armed or put arms towards them. Most of the crew had been close to their stations anyway so didn't have to move very far but two people were missing from their posts on the bridge. Mike soon noticed this and groaned as soon as he realised who it was.
"Where is Bomber and Nav?" Mike asked the rest of the bridge with a stern tone to his voice.
Everyone looked at each other. They didn't want to get Bomber and Nav into trouble but none of them knew where they were.
"I'm sure they'll be here in a minute sir." Kate stood up for the two missing girls.
"They should be here already."
"I know. They won't let us down."
"They'd better not, this isn't a drill anymore." Mike sighed looking back to the ocean.
"Yes sir." Kate responded looking at her watch.
RO looked down to the stairs waiting for Bomber and Nav to come up. No sign of either of them. He had to do something otherwise Mike would get even more mad and make the journey worse than it already was.
"Sir can I go and see them where they are?" RO asked Mike.
"No stay here. We might need you." Mike responded.
"Yes sir."
RO sighed. He just hoped the two girls were coming soon.

"We have to get up to the bridge." Nav yelled to Bomber, who were both running to get to the bridge.
"You're the one who made us late!" Bomber yelled back.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Nav said stopping.
"Why are you stopping?"
"I never made us late. You arguing with me made us late."
"You started it!"
"This isn't getting us anywhere."
"Then why did you stop?!"
Nav frowned but then ran back up to the bridge, hoping they hadn't missed much or that Mike wasn't too mad.

Mike had calmed a little by the time they got there. Mike looked back at them but didn't say anything so that they could just get back to work. Nav went back to her work, working on whether they could see what the boat was doing in front of them or whether they could get in touch with them. Bomber just sat with Spider waiting for something to do.
"A bit weird they're all the way out here sir." Kate said, leaning in to Mike away from the bridge crew.
"They sent out a mayday so they must be in some sort of trouble." Mike replied.
"Wonder what went wrong."
"We're about to find out."
The Hammersley had caught up with the boat that sent out the mayday RO had picked up two hours ago. The boat was all alone in the middle of nowhere. Mike nodded at Nav to try and get some information from the boat about their situation.
"Yes sir." Nav responded.
Nav pushed her buttons to get some information of the boat. It didn't take long before she found what was wrong.
"Sir…" Nav said worriedly.
Mike walked over to Nav to see what she wanted.
"The boat's been attacked." Nav said to Mike and the bridge.
"How?" Mike asked, nearly gasping.
"It's been torpedoed sir." Nav responded with tears forming in her eyes.
The whole crew gasped as one. A boat being attacked was bad enough but being torpedoed?!
"Someone must have sent that mayday." Mike spoke up.
"Someone's alive on there?" Kate asked.
"They must be." Mike sighed.
"Should we send out the search team sir?" RO asked.
"Yes but be careful, the boat could go down any second." Mike said looking around the bridge.
"Let's go." Buffer said.
RO, Buffer, Spider, 2dads, Bomber and Kate all went to form the search team. Mike watched them leave. He wanted them to be safe but they needed to know what was going on with the boat. Swaine saw this.
"Worried sir?" Swaine asked Mike.
"A little." Mike responded, wiping sweat from his brow.
"They'll find out what's going on."
"I hope so." Mike said. He then twinged a little when he had said this.
"Something wrong sir?" Swaine asked.
"It's nothing. Must have eaten tea too quickly." Mike smiled.
"You would tell me if something was wrong wouldn't you?" Swaine asked with a stern voice.
"Course."
Mike smiled at Swaine. Swaine wanted to smile back but was too worried to smile. Mike turned back to the ocean waiting for the search crew to appear at the boat before it was too late.

Kate was leading the search crew to the boat. She was watching everywhere just in case any debris fell off the boat and could hit them. She hoped that whoever had sent the mayday was still on the boat and was able to be rescued.
"Here we are." Buffer said when they had got close enough.
The whole team looked up at the boat in front of them. It was massive! Quite a lot bigger than the Hammersley. They couldn't see the hole that the torpedo had made yet but was sure it was around here somewhere.
"You heard the CO, be careful." Kate shouted to the team.
"We will be X." Spider tried to reassure her.
Kate nodded. It was nice of Spider to say that. It was usually someone else who said that to make everyone a little bit calmer. It was nice to see him step up and take on a different approach. Spider looked at Bomber and smiled. Bomber just turned away from him.
"Let's go." Buffer repeated.
The rest of the crew nodded and then got up close to the boat so they could board and see if anyone was still on the boat or still alive. Kate was ready for whatever was thrown her way but some of the rest of the crew might not be able to take it.
"Spider, Bomber and RO go that way. Buffer, 2dads you're with me." Kate told the team.
"Yes Ma'am." The crew replied.
Spider, Bomber and RO went to one side of the boat to search it further. Buffer, 2dads and Kate went to what was left of the bridge to see what they could find out.

Bomber and Spider were staying quiet. They didn't like each other at the moment after the food throwing incident. RO was stuck in the middle of the two! He didn't like a lot of talking on missions anyway so even if nobody talked it was a lot better and a lot smoother.
"Bomber…" Spider began.
Spoke too soon.
"Can't we talk?" Spider continued.
"Nope." Bomber replied.
"Do we have to discuss it here?" RO begged.
"Yes we do RO. She won't speak to me." Spider pleaded.
"There might be a reason for that." RO said.
"Yes there is and we're not going to discuss it here." Bomber finished the conversation.
The conversation ended there. RO smiled as he didn't like a lot of talking especially with Spider or Bomber. Spider had a pout on his face for the rest of the mission. Bomber didn't take any notice, she had work to do and nothing was going to stop it.
