The bridge of the Hammersley was still waiting for information back from the rescue team. Mike was getting worried. The rescue team should have got some information by now. The boat wasn't that big so it wouldn't take long to find anything. Plus there shouldn't be much to look at or find. Mike's headache had got worse as well which made it even more difficult to focus. Swaine had two things on his mind now, his CO and what the rescue team were going to find.

"Flynn to X…" Mike said into the communicator.

Nothing came back. The line was getting more and more weak. This meant that they were getting further and further away from Hammersley so they couldn't hear their communications very well.

"Where are they?" Mike said frustrated.

"I'm sure they'll find something." Swaine answered him.

"I hope it's soon." Mike said, rubbing his forehead.

"Sir?"

"I think I should go to my quarters." Mike finally decided.

"Are you sure?" Swaine asked him.

"You have the bridge Swaine." Mike said, leaving the bridge to go to his quarters.

"Yes sir."

Swaine was left in control of the bridge. He sat in Mike's seat and waited for a communication from the team. It would be weird for them to hear his voice but he couldn't tell them why yet, not until they got back to the ship.

Kate, Buffer and 2dads were searching for what was left of the bridge. It had gotten darker as they got closer to the bridge. They hadn't seen the amount of damage the boat had taken but they knew it would have to be a quick search just in case the whole boat collapsed.

"This is creepy." 2dads whispered.

"Shut up 2dads." Buffer whispered back.

"Sorry Buf."

"We don't want to take loads of debris down. You talking might do that."

"Right. X?"

"Yes, 2dads?" Kate said.

"Do you think we're going to find anything?"

"I don't know but we have to keep searching in case we do."

Kate's communicator came to life. Kate answered it.

"X?" Bomber's voice came.

"Yes Bomber."

"We've searched our part of the boat, we're coming to join you."

"Okay meet you at the bridge."

Bomber finished her conversation with Kate. Herself, Spider and RO made their way to join the other part of the team being careful where they stepped. They hadn't found anything but a few bodies had been scattered here and there but they didn't have any life in them.

"I wonder if they've found anything." Spider tried to start up the conversation again.

"Doesn't sound like it." Bomber replied.

"Oh so you are speaking to me?!"

"Maybe. It's my choice if I do."

"Okay. whatever you say Bomber."

"Would you two get along for once?" RO finally asked.

"Until he apologises no."

"Spider?"

"Not until she apologises."

"Me?!"

"Yeah."

RO gave up at that point. There was no point in carrying on with them fighting each other whatever they said. He just hoped they were close to joining the others.

Kate and her team had finally made it to the bridge. The bridge seemed to be the worst hit of the whole boat. They were glad as they might get some more information from it if some of it was still intact.

"2dads, you go up there and see if you can see anything." Kate pointed.

"Yes X."

2dads did what Kate said and Buffer stayed nearby him just in case he did something wrong. Kate searched elsewhere to see what she could find. Bomber, Spider and RO soon joined them in the search.

"Anything?" Kate asked them.

"Nope. A few things around but no use to us." RO answered her.

"Nothing much up here either." Buffer also responded.

"Perhaps we should head back." Bomber asked.

"Maybe you're right for once." Buffer said to her.

The team were just about to leave, when Kate heard something.

"Hang on."

"What is it X?" Buffer asked.

"Listen." Kate urged them.

The whole team listened. Some shallow breathing was coming from just behind them. They couldn't believe it! They had searched everywhere, where had this person come from!

Maxine was back at Navcom. Only a few people were allowed into the office because of lockdown and she was one of them. Marshall was out for the day so she was left in charge. She hated when she was in charge, she hated being bossy but she knew she would have to do it. Maxine's phone began to ring. She answered it knowing who it was already.

"Commander White here." Maxine spoke.

"Swaine here Ma'am." Swaine answered from the other side of the phone.

"Swaine. Where's Lieutenant Commander Flynn?"

"He's busy. He needed some air."

"Alright then. Any news?"

"Not yet. The team is still searching."

"Well tell them to be careful and don't let them be captured or anything." Maxine joked.

"Yes Ma'am." Swaine chuckled.

"Check in with you later." Maxine put down the phone.

Swaine put his side of the phone down. Commander White always joked whenever she could to keep everyone's spirits up.

The rescue team were still searching for where the breathing was coming from. They were just about to give up when…

"X!" Buffer shouted.

Kate got to where Buffer was as fast as she could. There was a person lying face first on the boat. Kate went up to the body. Buffer stepped back to let her have some room.

"He has a pulse." Kate reassured the team.

"Thank goodness." Bomber whispered with her hand over her mouth.

"Who is he X?" Spider asked, worried.

X turned the body over. The whole team gasped as they realised who it was. They all looked at each other and then back down at the person. Buffer got on the radio whilst Kate and Bomber tried to keep the person alive.

"Buffer to Hammersley." Buffer said into his radio.

"Swaine here." Swaine answered.

"Swaine we're coming back to the ship. Just to make you aware we have a medical emergency."

"Alright. I'll get ready to receive it."

"Buffer out." Buffer said cutting his radio off.

"Swaine out." Swaine said, cutting off his side of the communicator.

The rescue team looked at each other. This wasn't good and now they just had to get back to Hammersley without injuring the person even more.
