There he was. Mike was lying on the floor with what looks like a nasty gash on the side of his head. Kate rushed to his side. He was still breathing. She ran over to the door.

"Someone get Swaine!" Kate shouted out of the door.

"Yes Ma'am." People outside the door shouted back.

Kate then went back to Mikes side. He slowly began to open his eyes. Kate smiled a little when she realised this.

"Mike?" Kate quietly asked.

Mike got up and sat up. He put his hand to his head.

"I've called Swaine."

"No don't." Mike said, pushing her away.

"What?"

"I don't want him to come in." Mike pursued.

"You've got a head wound!"

"It's nothing."

"Well let Swaine check it then."

"No."

Mike got up off the floor and tried to walk to the door. He didn't get more than ten paces before he fell down again.

"Mike…" Kate tried to say.

"Just leave me alone." Mike pushed her away.

Mike got further this time. He managed to walk out the door out of Kate's sight. Kate sighed and rolled her eyes.

Swaine was finishing up in the sick bay. He was headed to the bridge, as Kate said she might need some back up with Mike elsewhere. Jim started to stir. Swaine smiled as he saw this.

"Where am I?" Jim asked.

"You're on the Hammersley." Swaine answered him.

"The Hammersley?"

"Yeah."

"What happened?"

"Kate and the rescue team got you away from the Starlight."

"The Starlight. It's all coming back now."

"Do you remember what happened?"

"I might do."

"I'll go and get Kate."

Swaine went out of the door letting Jim get used to his surroundings. When he got out of the door, he found Mike leaning up against the wall. Swaine saw the gash on his head and looked around to see if anyone might have the slightest idea what happened.

"Sir?"

Mike looked up.

"Swaine."

"Are you alright?"

"Yep."

"But your head…"

"It's fine."

Mike walked off before Swaine could ask him to come in. Swain watched after him but didn't want to go against Mike. Kate soon turned up just after.

"What's up with him?" Swaine pointed after Mike.

"He won't tell anyone."

"Jim wants to see you."

"Is he up?"

"Yeah."

Kate smiled and went into the sick bay. Swaine went back to the bridge just in case something happened with Mike.

"Jim?" Kate asked as she walked in.

Jim smiled when he saw Kate.

"Of course you're the one to rescue me."

"Wouldn't have it any other way." Kate said sitting next to the bed Jim was sitting on.

"I'm afraid I won't be much use."

"Just remember what you can."

"I don't remember much. Just blanked out I guess."

"If it's too stressful, I can come back later."

"No it's fine."

"Alright then go ahead."

"I hope you have a strong stomach."

"I've been through worse."

Jim started to tell Kate what he remembered with Kate listening intently. She wasn't writing it down but everyone in the navy knew she had a very good memory so she didn't need to.

Mike was being followed by Swaine up to the bridge. Mike knew Swaine was behind him but didn't say anything as Swaine would just retaliate. They both went up the stairs to the bridge with everyone standing to attention when they came in.

"Right. What have we got?" Mike asked the crew.

"We have the last information from the Starlight. Their last transmission." Nav answered him.

"What does it say?"

"It's the last captain's log."

"Captain Wilson I believe."

"Yes sir."

"Right go ahead."

Nav pressed a button and played the tape that RO had got for her. The whole bridge listened in to find out what was on it.

"Captain's log 15 August. Captain Wilson at the helm. Ninth day at sea collecting information on marine life. The crew seem to be enjoying themselves, diving everyday is great for them. No one has come across us and we haven't come across any islanders. We're just finishing up the last diving today and then going back to port. Can't wait to get back to port. Let's hope everything goes to plan. Captain out."

The bridge looked at Mike. Mike and Wilson had been very good friends and now Wilson was gone, Mike had lost his wingman. Mike turned away from the rest of the crew.

"Sir?" Charge asked.

"I'm fine. The 15th did he say?" Mike said, turning back.

"Yes sir." RO answered him.

"But that was a week ago."

"They can't have been out here for a week!" Bomber piped up.

"No one comes out here. They must have slipped under the radar." Buffer answered her.

"Another thing sir." Nav said.

"Yes Nav."

"The mayday we got."

"Yes?"

"It's been going out for a week. Since they disappeared."

"That might be why the army was there. They might have got it first." Buffer said to Mike.

"But what happened to Jim?" Mike asked.

"And the rest of the soldiers?" Swaine asked again.

The bridge was very confused. How could this have happened without them knowing? What was going on?
