The Hammersley was still in the same place. All of the crew were now bored and were getting sick of seeing the same boat everyday when they woke up. Even Jim was bored and he had only been on the Hammersley for a few hours. Kate had come down to see him, just to check on him nothing else.
"Hey." Kate said standing at Jims door.
"Hey." Jim said back.
"How are you feeling?"
"Better. Just bored."
"You're not the only one."
"That boring?!"
"It's not that! It's just I wish we could do something else apart from stay around here all day."
"Well plan something then."
"What?"
"Plan something for you and the crew to do."
"Like what?"
"I don't know. Think of something."
"Well Mike was supposed to do that."
"What's happened to Mike anyways?"
"I don't know. Swaine won't let us anywhere near him."
"Must be something serious." Jim said, wincing.
"Still in pain?"
"Not much. Just comes and goes."
"I'll leave you to get rest." Kate finally said.
"Thanks Kate." Jim said smiling.
Kate smiled back. She then left the door for the sick bay just in case Swaine might actually let her see Mike. Yeah not likely!

RO and Charge were nearly falling asleep on the bridge. The rest of the bridge was being kept awake by Spider going on about how brilliant his day was. Spider never saw the bad side of anything but it was grating a little now.
"Spider?" Buffer sighed.
"Yes Buf?" Spider said with a wide beam on his face.
"Would you shut your mouth for a few minutes?" Buffer gave a fake smile.
Spider went to say something back but thought better of it and didn't say anything. The only thing was however, Spider was the only one talking so it was pretty quiet without his voice.
"Well someone speak then." Buffer shrugged his shoulders.
"You just told me to be quiet." Spider spoke up.
"Not you." Buffer hissed in Spiders direction.
Spider stuck his tongue out at Buffer when he wasn't looking. Spider and Buffer never got on and now was no exception. Everyone sighed as Spider continued to talk and talk without anyone stopping him.

Kate had made her way to the sick bay. Swaine was waiting by the door to greet her. Kate knew what this meant. Maybe she should come back later.
"Hi Swaine." Kate smiled.
"What do you want?"
"You look well."
"What do you want Kate?"
"I was wondering if I could see the CO."
"He's getting some rest. Please don't disturb him!"
"Come on Swaine. Please."
"Let her in Swaine." Mike's voice came from inside the sick bay.
"But…" Swaine said, turning back to Mike.
But as soon as Swaine saw the smile on Mike's face he let Kate in. Kate wandered in and went over to Mike's bed. Swaine tutted and went back to his work watching over the two the whole time.
"It's nice to see someone." Mike started.
"Other than Swaine you mean." Kate chuckled.
"Exactly." Mike also chuckled.
"Well, everyones missing you."
"I'm missing them but Swaine doesn't think so."
"Why not?"
"He thinks I'm all alone on this ship."
"He does know you're the CO right?"
"Very funny." Swaine said listening in.
"Sorry Swaine." Kate said back.
"Well, what are you doing down here?" Mike asked.
"Can't I just visit you?" Kate tutted.
"Not likely."
"Fine. I need your advice."
"That's new."
"I need ideas to keep the crew busy."
"Busy? Haven't they got jobs to do?!"
"Yes but they're bored and they need something to do."
"Well let them dive then."
"Excuse me."
"Let them scuba dive. There's tons of coral and marine life around here. They'll love it."
"Yes. I'm sure they will."
Kate and Mike smiled at the same time. They both knew how much the crew loved scuba diving. Even though the last time they went Spider nearly got run into by a ship without a crew.
"Right, you'd better get some rest now sir." Swaine spoke up.
"But Swaine…. Just a few moments later." Mike tried to say.
"No. You're my patient and I say when it's time to rest."
"Fine. I'll go." Kate finally decided for them.
"Come and see me later." Mike whispered.
"I don't think so." Swaine said, folding his arms.
"Yes Swaine." Mike agreed.
Kate followed Swaine's orders to the letter. She said her goodbyes to Mike and then went in the direction of the bridge, hoping they had a better time than she had had.

But the bridge had a worse time than Kate. Both Spider and Buffer were now fighting because of Spiders talking. True most of the bridge crew didn't exactly mind Spider talking, this time they mainly sided with Buffer. Kate found herself coming into the chaos. She frowned as she saw two of her best sailors fighting with others cheering them on. They all stopped when they saw she had come in.
"What's all this about?" She asked sternly.
"Spider started it." Nav spoke up from her position at the front of the bridge.
"Did not!" Spider said back.
"You wouldn't stop talking!" 2dads backed Nav.
"I didn't see any of you talking." Spider retorted back.
"We couldn't get a word in edgeways." Buffer said to Kate.
Kate sighed. This was all she needed! The bridge crew fighting with each other when they were all at sea for who knows how long!
"Do you want me to get the CO up here?" Kate asked the bridge.
"No Ma'am." Came the replies.
" don't make me have a reason to."
The crew nodded. The one thing scarier than the X being mad was both the X and the CO being mad. They all went back to their jobs with Spider trying to sneak off to get away from Kate but Kate noticed this without a second look.
"Going somewhere Spider?" Kate asked him.
"Just need toilet X." Spider answered Kate.
"Don't believe you." Kate answered back.
"Fine." Spider gave up and went back to his place on the bridge.
Kate looked over at Nav. Nav had been ignoring her since Kate had come back on the bridge especially since Mike had gone down to sick bay. She knew Nav had been with Mike for the longest apart from Swaine. She went over to her to see what she could do.
"Anything interesting?" Kate tried to keep things light.
"Nothing that you would find interesting Ma'am." Nav answered back.
"Is that a fact?!"
"I'm afraid it is Ma'am."
"Is that you would say to the CO if he asked you the same question?"
"No but…"
"And why's that?"
"He found things more interesting than you do."
"Does he now?!"
"Yes Ma'am."
"So, maybe you should answer me like you do him until he gets back."
"Yes Ma'am." Nav said, turning back to her work.
"And Nav."
"Yes Ma'am?"
"Don't cross me again." Kate moaned.
"Okay."
Nav gave out a little sigh of relief. By that tone of voice she thought she might be kicked off of the bridge and put on cooking duty. Bomber enjoyed it but no one on the whole boat enjoyed it that much! True they didn't ever have to do it much. Kate re-took her seat and looked down at the files in her lap in case anything interesting had been found in her absence.
