Maxine was still trying to tell Marshall what she had just found out about Mike. She couldn't take it any longer, she would have to tell him otherwise he might burst at the seams.
"Well?" Marshall asked her getting more impatient.
"Mike's got a brain tumour…. It's just been confirmed." Maxine finally managed to say.
"He's got a what?"
"That's what I thought." Maxine said, turning away from Marshall.
Marshall put his hand up to his forehead. He couldn't believe what he had just been told. One of his best officers was very badly ill and he couldn't come back for ages.
"How's he going to get treatment?" Marshall finally tried to ask.
"He doesn't know yet but we might have to send a doctor over who knows what they're doing."
"I don't know if that's possible."
"It has to be." Maxine started to breath more quickly.
"Maxine calm down." Marshall said, trying to calm her down.
Maxine tried to get herself together but it was too hard.
"Can I be excused sir?" Maxine finally asked.
"Yes go on." Marshall waved.
Maxine rushed out of the room to get some air. Marshall watched after her and then turned back to his work. Why didn't Mike tell him before he left? It doesn't make any sense!

Spider and Bomber had managed to get inside the Starlight to have a look around. As the sea lapped around them they got further and further into the hole where the torpedo had hit.
"I've never done this before." Spider said to Bomber as the rest of the crew joined them.
"It's alright. Just stay close." Bomber answered him.
Spider nodded and carried on looking round. The wreck got darker and darker as they went further into the boat. Luckily all of the crew had torches so they could see where they were going. They all turned on their torches.
"Just more water by the looks of it." Nav said coming to join Bomber and Spider.
"We'd better go. We don't want to get caught out by the water." Bomber said, turning back.
"Can't we keep exploring?" Charge asked them from the back of the group.
"X said not to go too far." Bomber backed her information up.
"Maybe we should turn back." Spider said, sounding more and more worried.
"But I want to keep exploring." Charge kept on.
"Charge!" Nav complained.
"Fine." Charge gave in.
The group turned round to get out of the boat before the water got to them. The team got out of the boat just in time as the water went further and further into the Starlight. Kate and Buffer were waiting for them as the group came out of the boat.
"Had a nice time?" Buffer asked them when they got back.
"You don't mean that really do you Buffer?" Nav sighed.
"No not really." Buffer chuckled.
The whole team sighed as ROs voice came over their radios attached to their equipment.
"RO to X."
"What is it RO?" Kate answered.
"I'm afraid you're going to have to move Ma'am."
"Why's that?"
"The Starlight looks like it's going to go down."
"What?"
"It's going to go down Ma'am and we don't want you to be in the way."
"Alright RO. We'll be back in a minute. X out."
The radio cut out.
"Everyone… Hang on… where's Spider?" Kate sighed looking at the group.
"He was just behind me." Bomber replied.
"Yeah he was." Charge backed her.
"Well where is he?" Buffer asked.
The group started looking frantically. They looked back at the Starlight, RO was right, it was going down and going down fast! If Spider was still there it wouldn't be too long before he wouldn't be able to get out.
"Bomber go and see where he is." Kate ordered.
"She can't." Nav said.
"Why not?"
"She'll be stuck in the currents and it will push her back into the boat. She'll get trapped." Nav replied.
Kate kissed her teeth. Nav was right, if she sent any of the team they would get stuck and she didn't want that.

RO was watching the team from the bridge. He was waiting for them to come back to Hammersley and it didn't look like they were coming back any time soon. Before he could call them again Jim joined him on the bridge.
"What's going on?" Jim asked RO as he looked out of the window.
"The Starlights going down." RO answered him.
"Well what's the problem?"
"The scuba team is still there. They might be in the way."
"Well why aren't they moving then?"
"I don't know." RO said picking up the radio again.
Jim picked up a pair of binoculars. He looked out of them and saw the team looking around.
"Looks like they're looking for someone."
"Who?" RO asked him.
"Spider by the looks of it."
RO sighed. It was always Spider who got into trouble and the rest of the team just about managed it.
"RO to X." RO said again.
"X here." Kate's voice came back.
"Why aren't you coming back to the ship?"
"We can't find Spider and we can't leave without him."
"I'm sure he'll catch you up."
"We are not leaving without him RO."
"Fine. Just find him quickly." RO said ending the conversation.
"Any luck?" Jim said, taking off his binoculars for a second.
"Not at the moment." RO answered impatiently.
"I'm sure they'll find him." Jim tried to reassure RO.
"I wish I shared your optimism." RO said back.
And RO was right to be wary. With Spider about and lost who knew what would happen?
