Once again he was alone in the middle of his living room. Sitting on the floor he admired the city of Tokyo through his large bay window.

The sun had barely set, the streets were crowded. People with unknown faces and more or less long bodies wandering around without goal.

Cars were stuck in a huge traffic jam and the smoke from their exhausts formed a thick fog.

Further down outside near a restaurant was a couple walking hand in hand. The tall man, barely older than him, had a frail young woman in his arms. Together they laughed.

He was alone.

This had never bothered him before. But now, since his hasty departure for London two months earlier, after finding his Brother's body, he was nostalgic and often found himself thinking of a certain brunette with glowing hazelnut eyes.

Solitaire was a word that suited him perfectly. He didn't like company. Alone he wasn't hurt. Alone he wasn't disappointed. Moreover he could work quietly and make progress in his research and studies.

But that was it. He had to come across a girl who was the exact opposite of him. He had to fall under her charms. She had such power over him. Just one of her smiles and he was over the moon. One of her tears and he was in hell.

How did it come to this? He had no idea. But what he did know was that he loved her. And from that strange twinge in his heart that even caught his guts when he thought back to his mischievous eyes, he must have loved her unconditionally.

From the moment he had turned his back on her after his fateful question. "Gene or me". He couldn't sleep a wink all night. A lump of discomfort in his throat.

As a last resort he told his brother about it through the huge mirror in his room.

A constructive conversation, though embarrassing.

He learned from his older brother that he was an idiot and that by letting his logical side speak he would end up alone for good. Without anyone to support him as Lin and his parents do. After yelling at him for a while, Gene showed him a conversation he had with Mai. She made it clear that she preferred Naru and that she was in Love with him, she even said that she will give him her life just for Naru to be happy.

This moment made him euphoric. His heart pounding in his chest.

So he decided on the spot to take a plane ticket and go back to Japan.

So there he was sitting in his old flat.

Tomorrow.

Tomorrow everything will change.

Tomorrow he will say yes to happiness.

Tomorrow he will do everything to get it back.

Tomorrow, for the first time in years, he will let his emotions take precedence over his logic.

Because after all... love has no logic just like his Mai...
