Qinyang stood between Bakugo, the kindergarten bully, and her best friend Izuku with a determined look on her face. "Enough is enough Bakugo! Just because you got your explosive quirk doesn't mean you're better than Izuku! He just hasn't gotten his quirk yet!" Qinyang boldly stated. Bakugo smirked with his chuckling cronies behind him, "Face it Tamakawa, he's just a pathetic nobody. I don't even know why you stand up for him…" Qinyang was furious, "I stand up for him because he doesn't deserve to be picked on by jerks like you!" Midoriya trembled and pulled on Qinyang's arm, "L-let's just go Qinchan, I don't want you to get hurt…"

Bakugo laughed, "Why don't you listen to Deku? He actually has a good idea for once?" Qinyang had had enough of Bakugo's taunts and sprang into action, quite literally. She jumped over Bakugo and his cronies and managed to push his cronies away from the fight. She was mad that they were supporting Bakugo, but she didn't want them to get hurt. Quickly Bakugo saw what was happening and gave an explosive right hook at Qinyang, who dodged it by doing a backflip. After landing gracefully, she smiled tauntingly saying, "What's the matter Bakugo? Can't manage to best a simple girl?"

Bakugo ran at Qinyang with everything he had, which she used to her advantage she moved out of the way and tripped him with her foot. He fell with a thud and looked at Qinyang with a murderous look in his eyes. She defiantly stared back, "I didn't want it to come to this Bakugo, but you always leave me no choice… You gotta stop picking on others, or I will have to keep giving you these lessons…" Bakugo was about to get up and beat her to a pulp when his cronies got up and stopped him. Qinyang took this opportunity to quickly leave with Midoriya, "Come on, let's go Izuku." Midoriya snapped out of his stupor and followed Qinyang out of the forest area and to the playground.

When they were far enough away, Qinyang breathed a huge sigh of relief, "That was so mean of me! Oh, I hope none of them got hurt…" Izuku looked at her with respect in his eyes, "That was so cool though! You looked just like a real-life Hero Qinchan!" She blushed embarrassed, "Aww, you're so sweet Izuku. But I shouldn't have gotten so upset, I just hate it when he picks on you… Besides," she gave him a warm smile, "When you get your quirk, it's going to be much cooler than his!" Izuku grinned, "Maybe I'll get a quirk like All Might, or Endeavor!" Qinyang chuckled, "Whatever it is, you will do great things Izuku Midoriya."

After school was finished, she walked home with Izuku like always. Their homes were close to the schools and they lived in the same apartment building, which made things especially easy. They talked about All Might, about how brave and inspirational he was, and Midoriya's potential quirk. "Remember when All Might made his debut! He was so strong and saved so many people so quickly!" Midoriya rambled enthusiastically. Qinyang giggled and just listened, she liked how much Midoriya knew about Heroes and his want to help others. She was sure that this was because he would watch the same clips over a hundred times, but it still made her smile.

When they got to Midoriya's door, Midoriya turned to her sadly, "I won't be able to play today, Mom said that I have a doctor's appointment. I don't know what it's for, but it might take all night..." Qinyang gave him a quick hug, "That's okay, that just means we'll get to play tomorrow!" He smiled embarrassed, he felt weird that Qinchan was so willing to give him hugs all the time, even though he was a boy. She had told him many times that the reason she liked giving him hugs was that she felt like she was like her big sister, but he still blushed every time. Qinyang smiled, "I'll see you tomorrow Izuku. Don't forget to tell your mom I said hi okay?" Midoriya nodded, "I will, goodbye Qinchan!" They both smiled and went their respective ways.

Qinyang was walking down the hallway to her apartment when she realized she would have to tell her dad about what happened at school, and she felt really anxious. He had taught her how to defend herself, but she didn't know how he was going to react to her stunt. She didn't even know if the teacher would have told him by now, and if they didn't, would she be brave enough to tell him what happened? She took a deep breath in and opened the door. She peeked through the door and saw her dad was in the kitchen cooking Kaisendon, her favorite! She then got scared again, 'Is he making my favorite meal so that I don't think that he knows what happened, or is he just in a good mood?'

She didn't have time to figure out which answer was probably most correct, he turned around and smiled at her, " There's my little Qinyang!" Qinyang, startled, almost fell over from fear, however, she managed to hold on to the door for support, "Eep- Uh, good afternoon Oto-san! S-sorry I'm late…" Sansa smiled warmly, "Don't worry, I'm not mad. Could you help set the table? The rice will be done soon…" Qinyang nodded and closed the door behind her. She grabbed a small step stool and got two cups and two bowls for her and her father. She hopped down and went towards the table when Sansa asked curiously, "How was school today, Nikko-chan?" (Nikko means sunshine).

Qinyang put down the plate, and turned to her father ashamed, "I got into a fight with Katsuki Bakugo today…" Sansa looked at her concerned, "Are you alright Qinyang?" he knelt in front of her and looked at her face for any signs of a bruise. She shook her head, "No, but I'm afraid I got Bakugo hurt when I tripped him as he ran to punch me…" Satisfied that she wasn't hurt, he sat her down on a chair, "Tell me what happened, sweetheart," Qinyang told her dad about how Bakugo was picking on Midoriya and how she wanted to teach him a lesson. Her head hung with shame, she felt that she was a disappointment to her father, so it surprised her to hear him chuckle.

She looked up to see a proud smile on his face, "Sounds like you were an acrobat back there Nikko-chan, I'm rather impressed with how you handled the situation…" Qinyang's mouth dropped open in shock, "Wh-wha? Why? I went way overboard trying to defend Izuku, I should have gotten a teacher…" Sansa chuckled, "Instead of going all out on Bakugo, you decided to humble him a little with barely any effort I may add. That sounds like a future hero to me…"

He ruffled her hair and went to check on the rice, leaving Qinyang stunned. "So… You aren't mad?" Sansa shook his head while he served the Kaisendon, "No, I'm not mad. But next time, tell a teacher if Bakugo picks on Izuku again. I don't want you to get in trouble because you are using your quirk in a fight…" Qinyang watched as he placed her bowl of Kaisendon in front of her, "I am happy that you know how to use your quirk so effectively, but try not to use your quirk in ways that'll get you in trouble, alright Qinyang?" Sansa gave her a patient smile, he truly was proud of her for sticking up for Midoriya. He was a sweet and energetic child, and he approved of their friendship, but he didn't want her to get in trouble for confronting bullies like Bakugo.

Qinyang gave her father a determined nod, "Okay! I promise I won't use my quirks so recklessly Oto-san!" He patted her head lovingly, "I trust you, Nikko-chan. Now eat up, you don't want the rice to get cold…" Qinyang smiled as poured half her soy sauce evenly over her whole bowl, then dipped pieces of fish in the sauce for extra flavor. Sansa watched her contentedly, he didn't know how he was lucky enough to have her in his life. She was so sweet and loyal to her friends and had amazing control over her quirk.

He did not doubt that she was destined for great things, but a cloud of anxiety would always creep on him whenever she thought of her future. 'Will she be a great hero? Or perhaps a fellow police officer like he was? If she did choose a career like this, she would constantly be in danger for the safety of the citizens… Or what if-' He shook his head, 'No, she wouldn't. It wasn't in her to become someone like that…' He watched silently as she played with the head of a shrimp and dipped it into the soy sauce, 'It is in her genetics…' he thought to himself somberly.
