Chapter 2: Camp Life New Life

3rd pov

The sun came up and Jason got up and changed into his camp clothes. After putting his glass's on Jason left his lonely empty cabin and headed to the guest cabin. It didn't take Jason long to get to the cabin, the best part about this cabin anyone in camp is welcome here. They even let them have sleep over in here for groups from different cabins. Anyone is welcome to sleep here when they want, some of them are going through things and this cabin lets them go through their problems.

Jason found Ash's room and knocked; a growl came from within the room. Smiling a little Jason opened the door. "Ash it's time to get up." said Jason as he walked into the room. The room is dark, so Jason went over to the window and opened the curtness. Turning around to see Ash under the covers. "Ash it's time to get up." Jason said again. A growl came from under the covers. "Come on Ash." Jason said as he pulled off the covers. "Oh Gods!" Jason yelped a little when he saw Ash.

Ash is laying on her stomach wearing nothing but a dark purple thong. Her blond hair has fallen over her pale face. Ash looked up at Jason and noticed his face is red and his eyes are wide. Sitting up Ash rubbed her eyes. Jason turned around as Ash looked at him. "What time is it?" Ash asked. "7:30 am." Jason said in a low voice. "Why so early?" Ash asked as she got off the bed and dressed. "Breakfast and cabin inspection go from 8-9. Since you are the only one in here and it's not even been a day. So, let's go and get some breakfast." Jason said as Ash finished putting her open toe boots on. "Ok I'm dressed." Ash said and Jason turned around to see Ash in tight black leather pants and a purple and black corset and black open toe boots. Ash looked at her phone and there were no texts or miss calls. Jason noticed the sad look on her face, but he didn't say anything about that look.

"Umm you might want to change, some of the stuff we do you might want to be in something more comfy." Jason said as he watched Ash put her hair up into two pig tails and have her long bangs hanging down. "I be fine. I'm used to doing stuff dressed like this." Ash said. "If you say so. Right now, we aren't sitting at our right tables, but once you get your food you burn some of it for the gods." Jason said as we walked to the dining hall. I noticed most of the other cabin's walking together. "Why are they walking together for?" I asked Jason. "All cabins clean their cabins then walk in a line." Jason said to me. "You don't have any brothers or sisters?" I asked Jason.

"I have a whole sister, but she is part of the Hunters of Artemis. Other than her no, it's just me in my cabin." Jason said to me. "Sorry." Ash said not sure what to say. The only one Ash really talked to be her father everyone else just wanted nothing to do with her. "Do you have any brother or sisters from your other family?" Jason asked softly trying to get to know Ash more. "My father took in three boys and two girls, but they never wanted anything to do with me. My stepmother was nice but with all monster attacks she too stopped coming around me. My father stood by me but the other day he gave in and I heard him ask how to tell me I'm not welcome in their home." Ash said as everyone looked at Ash and how she was dressed.

Jason looked at her and felt so sorry for her. Having your own blood doing that to you. "I'm sorry." Jason said softly. Ash looked up at him. "Its fine, I'm getting used to it." Ash said and Jason stopped. "You shouldn't get used to it. You are here with us. We aren't going to do that to you." Jason said but he saw something in her eyes. Ash knew if they found out what she really is, they would hate her just like her family.

Ash's pov

We didn't talk for the rest of out walk and I was ok with that. I would have thought dad would have texted me to see if I were even ok. I could feel all eyes on me, and I'm used to it. Jason went to sit with a very pretty girl, she must be Jason's girlfriend. I did see a table with no one at it, so I walked over to it and got a plate of food and followed the others. I did want they did, and I didn't know what to do when I did this. The smell of the food burning smelt good. Then I went back to the table and nibbled on the fruit. I really wanted blood not this but since I wanted to be liked I can give up the blood.

The hour went by in a flash, Jason came over to me. "We have the same schedule. I made you a copy." Jason said with a smile. I took it and looked at it and some of this stuff looked like fun. "I'm not a Greek demigod but I'm trying to learn Greek." Jason said with a small smile as he rubbed the back of his head. "That's cool." I said with a smile. Jason blushed a little. "If you're not a Greek demigod then what kind of demigod are you?" I asked Jason as I followed him to a tree where a boy sat. "I'm a Roman demigod." Jason said. I have read about it but not a lot.

"That is so cool." I said and he blushed a deeper red. "Thanks. This is Nico and Nico this is Ash." Jason said as we got to the goth boy. "It's nice to meet you Nico." I said with a smile. He looked me up and down. "It's nice to meet you too Ash." Nico said and we started our Greek lesson. I know some Greek but not a lot. Nico is a good teacher, and he went slow with us. I'm a fast learner but Jason is having a harder time. What they told me is Greek Demigods have Greek hardwired into our brains. So, it must be the same for the Roman Demigods.

After our lesson with Nico me and Jason went to our next thing and it is Lunch Preparation. The harpies looked scary, but I think they are cool. When I told them that they blushed and took a liking to me. My job for today is to just wash all the fruit and veggies. Jason had to cut up the fruits and veggies. We really didn't talk much throughout our time.

I followed Jason to the edge of the forest where Nico was waiting for us. "This is Monster assault techniques. We are going to go into the forest and Jason, and I will show you how to take down a monster." Nico said and I raised my hand. "Yes?" Nico said confused a little. "I know how to take down monsters. I've been doing it for years now, it's because of the monster attacks that I left home." I said softly to them. Nico smiled softly at me. "Ok let's see what you can do girl." Nico said with a smile. To me it feels like he doesn't smile much but he looks cute when he smiled. "I'm a little scared to show you what I can do." I said softly to them. "Why Ash?" Jason asked me.

"I'm scared you won't want to be my friend when you see what I can do without a weapon." I said even softer. "That is ok, some of us have powers that we use. If you don't have a weapon, then show us what you can do." Nico said with another smile. "I do have a weapon but its back at my father's house." I said before I walked past the two boys and headed into the forest. They followed me and the first monster came out me and with a wave of my hand turning the monster into gold dust. I heard Nico speak softly. "Remind me to never piss Ash off." I could tell Nico was impressed with what I did. "Same here." Jason said in awe.

I blushed a little at their words, for the first time someone wasn't scared of what I can do. "Why are you crying Ash?" Nico said with worry in his voice. "Sorry, for the first time in my life someone isn't scared of me." I said as I rubbed my eyes. As I had my eyes closed, I felt two body hit mine, at first, I thought I was being attack. Then I smelt Jason's and Nico's scent, I opened my eyes to see the two boys hugging me. I felt my face grow hot, but I hugged them back. "You don't have to be ashamed of what you can do here Ash. This is your home now and some of us can do things others can't." Jason said and Nico nodded his head. "Yeah, take me for example I can summon the dead and no one else here can do that." Nico said.

"Really? You can do that? That is so freaken awesome!" I said with a huge smile that make the pale Nico turn pink. "Thanks Ash." Nico said in a low voice as he rubbed the back of his head. "We better get back to training before one of us gets killed." Jason said as we could hear growls starting to come towards us.

For the rest of the day I had fun with Jason and Nico even tagged along. I got to make weapons, went swimming, got to pet a Pegasus and so many other fun stuff. Now its dinner and I watched my two first real friends go to their other friends or should I say girlfriend and boyfriend. I didn't know Nico was gay, but his boyfriend is so cute, the two of them are so cute together. Complete opposites but they love each other, and you can see it. Nico is still shy, and I found that cute as I walked to my lonely table. I barely ate anything as I listened to Jason talk to his friends about me. "Even though she is dressed like that she can fight bad ass." Jason said and I couldn't help but to smile.

Tonight, we are going to be playing Capture the flag, Jason and Nico told me how the play and it sounded fun. Tonight, Jason and this other guy Percy are picking teams. I waited for someone to call me and I started to feel like either one was going to call me. "I take Ash." Jason said and everyone looked at him like he was crazy. "Why pick her when we can get a full cabin?" his girlfriend said and some other the others nodded. Nico was on Percy's team looked at me and turned even paler. "What's wrong Nico?" said his boyfriend Will I believe is his name. "If you saw her take down the monsters today, you would know that she might just be one person, but she fights like a whole damn army." Nico said and then everyone that heard started to laugh.

I didn't let it show on my face but that hurt. Jason looked at me as I slowly walked over to his side and everyone was giving me that look. The look like how can their leader be so stupid to pick me. Jason walked over to me and put his hand on my shoulder. "You will show them what you are made of, just don't kill them." Jason said. "No promises." I said and that shut them up. They couldn't tell if I was being serious or just joking. I didn't even give them a hit of which one I was.

After we went to our side of the woods Jason was giving out orders. He asked who wanted to guard the flag. No one stepped up. "I'll do it." I said as they put on armor and I was just in my leather clothes. "Thanks Ash. You will show them what you can do. By the way Annabeth as a hat that turns her invisible so be careful." Jason said. "Can I use fire?" I asked and every head turned to look at me. "You can control it?" Jason asked looking a little worried. "Yes, nothing will be destroyed, but the other team." I said with a smile. Jason knew I was joking but the others didn't, and they looked scared. Jason had a hard time not laughing and you can see it in his beautiful blue eyes.

"As long as the tree are ok and the forest isn't burn down, I'm fine with it. You sure you don't want any armor?" Jason said as he looked at me. "I be fine. I've faced many monsters without it. I should be fine with people." I said and he nodded as he led me to the flag. "When you head the horn blow the game is over and stop." Jason said before he turned to walk away. "Go get em." I said softly. "Thank Ash and good luck." Jason said before he left.

Standing in the dark I could smell about ten of them and they are all around me. Most of them are from Aris cabin and like Jason said Annabeth was with them. I chuckled as they came running at me. I raised my hands and flames came form the grown and made a circle around me and the flag. "Damn it. How can she use fire?" came Clarisse's pissed off voice. Then I felt water hit my flames, but it just turned to steam. "Percy, it didn't work." Annabeth said. They tried to get in but nothing they did worked. I didn't trust my self with just my magic to fight with. I might kill one of them by accident, with my weapon I trust myself more.

The horn blew and I let the flames die. "I didn't think you were a chicken." Clarisse spat at me. "I didn't want to kill any of you. I'm not used to using my power like this. I've only used it to kill monsters. So, call me a chicken all you want, I didn't want to kill anyone tonight. Next time I be more then happy to rip your heart out." I said with a smile before I walked off. I could smell fear coming from them.

Jason ran towards me and hugged me. "We won!" Jason said in such a happy voice. I smiled as I hugged me back. "When its me vs. Percy I've haven't beaten him till tonight." Jason said as he let me go. I blushed before I spoke. "I'm glad I was able to help you out." I said as the others came, and his girlfriend ran and kissed him. I felt that green eye monster of envy bubbling up. After this was sing along at the campfire. I didn't feel like singing, so before anyone could say anything. I ducked out and headed back to my cabin. "You don't feel like singing?" Nico said as he came out of the shadows. "Yep, besides that I'm tired." I said softly as I let my head hang as I started to walk. "You should be happy that you won. I've never seen Jason this happy before." Nico said as he walked next to me.

"I'm glad he is happy, but some things I just don't like watching." I said and Nico nodded. "Before I got with Will I had a huge crush on Percy. Every time I saw him with Annabeth, I hurt really bad. I know how you feel." Nico said softly to me. "Thanks Nico, but at least you're not a monster." I said not really thinking. "Monster?" Nico asked curiously. I wanted to kick myself in the ass. "It's just growing up they made me feel like a monster and after so long you start to believe it." I said coming up with that on the fly. "You're not a monster Ash." Nico said and there was something about him that made me want to tell him the truth.

"What if I am a monster? Would you still be my friend?" the words just came out of my mouth before I could stop them. Nico looked at me. "There are good monsters out there. Even if you were one, I still be your friend." Nico said and I hugged him. I smelt of earth and death and I liked it. "Thanks Nico, I really need to hear that." I said when I pulled away. Nico blushed as he looked down at me. "Your welcome Ash get some rest and I see you tomorrow." Nico said before he ruffled my hair.

I watched him vanished back into the darkness before I headed inside. This was the only cabin with bathrooms in them. I took a hot shower and when I got out, I checked my phone. All day I was outside, so I didn't have time to come back and check it. I looked at it and nothing. I sat on my bed as tears ran down my face. How could he not care about me anymore. I'm his blood daughter and I thought he really loved me. I screamed out with despair as a thunderstorm appeared out of nowhere. I could hear others screaming and running to their cabins as I screamed and cried into my pillow.

I didn't ask to be born like this; I just wanted my father to love me. I didn't care if I didn't know my birth mother as long as my father loved me. The others made me feel like a monster but not father. When I was small, he would hold me and tell me everything was going to be fine. I wonder how long he was lying to me. I thought to myself as sleep took me and the stormed rage on.
