Although my first game resulted in a loss, I wasn't too put out. I wasn't expecting to win my first game anyway. Especially since the only person that beat me was an experienced player. With these thoughts in my mind, I readied up and began my second match...
And then my third match...
And then my fourth match...
"OKAY WHAT THE HELL THIS IS SERIOUSLY PISSING ME OFF!"
Although I was easily able to kill most of my opponents, Every match inevitably ended in me dying to someone that builds walls.
The worst part was that my only viewer for the stream left after the first match.
I did everything I could in order to beat people that would build, but nothing worked.
I tried. I tried. I tried!
Nothing i did ever helped me against the players that built walls in the middle of a gunfight. One player even pickaxed me to death! I even tried consulting Annabeth on how to out-build my enemies, but her explanations were so convoluted that I just got bored and tuned her out.
I decided to go into creative mode and try to learn how to build on my own since Annabeth was no help. I spent like an hour in creative mode, and in that time learned how to build a fortified staircase and a basic tower. Surely these basic building techniques combined with my demigod reflexes would make me the undisputed champion, right? Right?! With my newfound skills, I decided to head back to the game.
The game loaded up instantly because the Big Daedalus is a real homie. Brimming with newfound energy, I started my twitch stream once again and headed into a match of trios.
I played for a couple of hours, and the results were... discouraging. Despite knowing how to somewhat build, I still couldn't win against players that would also build. By the time I placed one wall down, the enemy would already have a revolving staircase around me that encompasses the entire sky! Discouraged, I stopped the stream and turned in for the night.
I tossed and turned in bed all night while thinking of Fortnite. I think what infuriated me the most is that I died to people with complete dog shit aim, just because they were better at building than me. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that as a child of Poseidon, Architecture would never be my thing, and so I decided that Fortnite is not the game for me.
But what about other Battle Royals? After some contemplation and examining various Battle Royals, I decided what game I would play.
Apex Legends
