CHAPTER 5: THE OTHER VOICE.
(POV: Thomas.)
After the moment that we had, I escorted Lady back home. Being the lovers that we're now were, I carried her in a few certain segments. When we got very close to the palace, I let Lady on her feet, as we stepped towards the entrance. And of course, right when we entered, Allen was there, waiting for us.
"Ah! Lady! I've been wondering where you've gone. Now then, why don't sit somewhere and have..."
"No!" Lady scowled.
"Um... what?! Lady.."
"I said no, Allen!" Lady bellowed again as she then got closer to me. "I don't want you! Thomas, is whom I wish to be with."
Allen scowled as he heard that.
"You pick that rat?!" He exclaimed. "Don't you even know how vile those normals..."
"ALLEN! THAT IS ENOUGH!"
We looked over towards the source of the bellow, to find King Allcroft looking quite displeased, as my mother and father accompanied him.
"Allen..." Lady's father began. "I've heard many... negative things about you as of late. From being quite rude to those who aren't a magicborn, to even trying to keep my daughter from the one whom she loves. If anything, you are certainly a disgrace when all is said and done." He then finished as he then looked towards us.
"I'm sorry if I haven't given you a chance to speak, Lady." Her father apologized. "I really should have known better."
"It's all alright, dad." Lady replied. "Anyways, if it's okay with you, could I stay a couple of nights at the Billinton Mansion? I had to save Thomas from one of Allen's guards who was planning to kill the whole patrol group."
"Of course." King Allcroft replied. "And I'll be sure that an investigation is well under way."
(POV: Mysterious Narrator.)
As Thomas and Lady smiled broadly, Allen scowled darkly at the nobleman, clearly furious that the princess went for him. After Lady packed a few things, she went with the Billintons back to their mansion, smiling as she did. When they arrived, they found Thomas's siblings there, waiting for them.
"Welcome back mum and dad!" Annie and Clarabel chirped in unison.
"Thanks, you two." Howard said with a smile. "Anyways, I hope that you'll make our guest feels welcome during her stay."
"Guest?" the twins quizzed, as they then spotted Lady next to their middle brother. "Oh! We will." They then chimed as they gave a smile.
After she got settled in the guest bedroom, Lady came back down stairs to check up on Thomas. Though he was healed from his wounds, the pain that he received from them will still linger. As she then sat next to him on the couch, Lady affectionately embraced Thomas from behind and tilted her head onto his shoulder.
"Have you been hurting much?" She asked.
"A little bit." Thomas replied. "But not to the point where I'm immobile."
Lady smiled as she then repositioned herself and laid down in Thomas's lap. As the nobleman then gently rubbed her cheek, Timothy couldn't help but smile for his brother finally was with the one he loved. As the hours continued to pass, Thomas and Lady had no end to their time together.
(POV: Lady.)
As it then grew late, I went up to the guest bedroom to get some rest, since I was getting tired. As I then slid under the covers and fell asleep I would find myself in a dark and empty space of nothing but blackness. I didn't know why, but something about this space made me feel very uneasy. As I then continued to stand, frozen in fright, I heard a voice.
"Lady..." it called me. "Come and join me..."
The voice, though feminine, was not familiar or the same as the one within my visions. It was more dark, power hungry, and unsettling. As I then froze even further, I suddenly heard the familiar voice from the night before.
"Lady my child! Watch out! SHE's trying to corrupt you!"
As I then heard that, I suddenly saw a feminine figure stepping through the darkness, reaching towards me. The figure was just about to grab me when I felt a gentle tap on my cheek, which awoke me. As I then looked over, I found myself back in the guest bedroom with a familiar face next to me.
"T-Thomas? What are you..."
"Came to comfort you." He replied quietly as he then laid next to me, and wrapped his arm around my waist.
As I felt Thomas's arm across me, I felt a greater amount of comfort than I did earlier. It was warm, and as all his touches were, gentle. As I savored this, I dug deep down, and did my best to recount my nightmare.
"It was all dark in my dream, Thomas. Nothing stood, nothing moved, nothing but me. There was this voice who called out my name, as if it's source was trying to reach out to me. I don't know why, but there was something... evil, about that voice."
"Kind of like my one dream that was created by Mordred?" Thomas asked, relating his false dream with mine.
"Yes." I replied. "But this entity was much more evil, and dark than anyone we first faced. I'm scared, Thomas. What if we're in for some real peril and trouble?"
"We'll go face it together." He replied, as he then rubbed my cheek. "First, let us try to not panic. Mordred did not make a real strike until after my false dream. So if the situation is any similar, we should have some time to get answers."
"Right." I replied, as I then kissed my lover.
As I kissed Thomas, and got ready to fall asleep once more, I began to have even more questions on the voice that I heard in the night before. In the warning that she gave me on this night, she referred to me as her child.
"Who is this familiar voice speaking to me?" "Where and when does she know me from?" "How do I even relate to her?"
These questions plagued my thoughts as I then fell asleep. However, I was unaware of my true heritage and potential, as I held Thomas tight.
