Christmas Miracles

Chapter One

It was snowing outside with five days before Christmas with more to come with the weather forecasters for the tri-state region. However the crime rate will not stop because of it. A sole robber dressed in all black accepted for wearing a gold bracelet on his wrist. This particular jewelry store in Alexandria, Virginia has been cased by him and his vendors looking to purchase on the black market.

Arriving on the roof of the building three stories having checked the security systems to be arcaded for the most part for being located in Alexandria. Placing the pegs and ropes neatly while getting himself ready to enter into the second floor after he had deactivated the alarms without the security company realizing what was going on.

Dropping on down slowly to the one window he needed to get inside. Taking in a deep breath into his lungs feeling the cold air and drifting snow falling heavy. There was already at least six inches on the ground to slow down any traffic on the streets or in the air with the flights. Only now getting back to flying with the covid-virus slowing down a great deal in all 50 states...

Moving inside the vault area of the building for where a fortune of diamonds and monies from the Marine trust fund will be taken for the haul by the man in all black. What he didn't realize was the fact he will drop his gold bracelet and someone walking in on him to be ex marine checking on the vault after placing some valuable diamonds from a local shipment.

"Wait a minute who the hell are you breaking in like this?" Corporal Donny James of Quantico office turned and said when the robber decided to fire three bullets from a silencer from his black pocket.

Not bothering to check for a pulse even though he knew that he was dead with firing into his head and chest. He pulled out the diamonds and funds worth a fortune placing them into a black bag to be placed around his waist. The body laid on the floor with blood splatter.

After he was done...He headed back out of the window to climb back up to the roof and with taking the stairs...And disappearing into the snow storm.

NCIS Bullpen 7.30 A.M. in the morning

Everyone was having a hard time trying to get into work after the snow had slowed down to a crawl. Snow plows for NCIS maintenance were able to be able to move most or all of the snow in the parking lots for the employees able to come in.

Timothy McGee had arrived with driving in his truck making it easier to drive in bad weather. He was sitting in his chair when Torres came in nervous as a cat with Bishop's due date coming up in two weeks with the baby. Ever since Agent Gibbs had burnt rule 12th he's never been more happier. He dropped his go bag by his desk when Gibbs comes in as well wearing his snow gear coming from the diner and two coffees. His wife Loreile was taking care of Shane their son. He had told them to stay inside with the nasty weather. Even though she never bothered to go back to work at the Evergreen safe house. She was currently working at home for Director Vance and NCIS.

He looked over at Nick waiting for the shoe to fall. When Gibbs didn't even get a chance to take a sip of his black coffee when his phone rang. Sitting down the container feeling down right annoyed. He goes and picks up the phone. The next minute he was writing the instructions on a sticky note with the address. He hangs up the phone and said the following..."Grabbed your gear we have a shooting at the Apex jewelry store. An ex marine running the store has been found dead by one of the security guards."

McGee and Torres weren't liking the idea of going out into the elements with Christmas only five days away. They will need to close the case as soon as possible with all of the help they can get during the holiday. There was always Doctor Anthony Sterling taking over for Sloane still in New York with her daughter Faith and then there was Director Vance.

Gibbs was driving the black SUV with chains on the wheels to help with the traction. The jewelry store wasn't all too far from the Naval yards. He parked the vehicle across the street with the Metro police having placed the yellow banners to keep any one of public out.

"Torres talk to any possible witnesses. While McGee check the area and including the roof for any type of evidence."

"Are you serious boss? Going up to the roof while it's snowing is downright crazy!" McGee will cry out never liking the snow elements. Even though it's good for Johnny and Morgan wanting to go sledging in the snow. Gibbs gave him a look on his face that he knew what it had meant...

"I am going already." He said with moving inside while Gibbs was going to go up to the third floor taking the elevator punching the button to hurt his right index finger. He's been still having issues with it ever since he came back from Paraguay the second time around. He was rubbing it with his other hand until the door opened with a great deal of police traffic with asking where was the body.

However Doctor Palmer and his assistant Gerald were able to arrive earlier then normal with the NCIS Coroner's van. Doctor Palmer had found the gold bracelet that was laying next to the vault still opened and empty... He had placed it into a clear plastic evidence bag to be giving to Gibbs and no doubt to Kasie and find any prints on it. However there was a scription on it that said Jackson Gibbs.

This no doubt will be extremely to one Leroy Jethro Gibbs finding his father's gold bracelet.

Gibbs walked in to speak with palmer. "What do we have Jimmy?" He needed to asked before Palmer will give him the evidence bag.

"He died from three shots to the head and chest at point blank range with the two killing him instantly in the head. Otherwise I won't be sure until I get the body of Corporal Donny James owner of the Apex jewelry store of Quantico to NCIS autopsy bay."

"How old was he Doctor Palmer ?" Gibbs made a note onto his pad with his name and now age.

"32 years of age. However I also found something Gibbs you're not going to like at all." He pulled out the clear plastic evidence bag with a piece of jewelry.

"Let me take a look maybe Kasie will be able to find out who it actually belongs to." Placing on his gloves from his snow jacket and gloves. He pulled it out to take a look at it to have his hand shaking from reading the inscription. "How in the hell did this robber get a hold of my father's gold bracelet?" He announced with anger.

"I don't know Gibbs. However we need to look into it right away with the answers." Palmer had to say to give Leroy Jethro Gibbs shivers throughout his entire body...
