Christmas Miracles
Chapter 11th
Gibbs to think of a good answer with the question that was asked by his wife. One thing for sure he's changed from over the years with answering questions. He used to get so pissed off at Diane and Rebecca asking too many questions in regard to his job and what he was going to be doing.
"Loreile I don't wish to be a party pooper with the Christmas holiday. However I will try to answer your question the best I can without getting you upset further." Taking another deep breath in and out of his lungs.
"Well Jethro get to it already before I turn 69 years old right quick!" She will say with her humor not making him happy one minute with the question.
"Smart ass Loreile! Director Leon Vance, DOD and SECNAV wants to send a large team over to Paraguay with the marines and the seals and NCIS to head into the main Rio De Grande river basin to look for Jose Juan Hernandez and the rest of his regime."
"Ok Jethro. Which agents will Vance be sending to Paraguay once the official word is given with the "OFF THE BOOKS" operation?" She was very anxious to know.
"As far as I know I won't be going since I have already turned him down with going. He's going to be sending Lt. James Brown with the experience of the jungle as with McGee and Torres."
"I just can't believe that Delilah is letting Tim and then with Bishop and her husband Nick Torres to be going on the trip?" She cried out with looking out the window with the swirling wind blowing the white snow all over the place.
"It's not exactly set in stone with all of the NCIS agents. The DOD is thinking of using their own agents instead in order to save on money further." Gibbs had to say and Loreile not believing her husband's words about him turning it down.
"Tell me something Jethro. Why did you turn the gig down with Director Leon Vance?" This was going to be interesting to hear from her husband squirming in his seat.
He needed to get up to stretch his muscles and including his knee swelling. Loreile had gotten up to head for the Freezer to grab the ice pack for his knee before sitting back down. "Thanks." He placed it back down onto his Knee with placing his legs onto the coffee table. "Now to the question. Don't you think it was obvious as to why I had turned it down?"
"Please explain it to me further Jethro." She was smirking at him that he was getting annoyed just to get him pissed at times. She had always loved to do this him and he knows it. "Jesus H. Christ it was because of you and our son. I don't wish to leave the both of you alone without a future." He stated with moving up dropping the ice pack to head for her and with a passionate kiss to prove it.

SECNAV
James Elroy a friend of Leon Vance had called him at home since the Naval Yards was partially shut down with the heavy snows. The snowplows have been unable to keep up with the heavy snow per hour. The workers for the maintenance department were already overworked with the clean up.
"Leon have you made the final decision with the team you're going to be sending to Paraguay?" He was smoking his famous cigars in the living room looking through the window with the howling and blowing winds with the white stuff. This had to be the worst winter season with the change in the weather forecasting.
"Actually I have with one pull out from the group to be Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Otherwise as following will be Senior Field agent Timothy McGee, Agent Nick Torres and Lt. James Brown with the experience having working in the jungle years ago. There you have it and with sending the list into the DOD for the operation. When is this supposed to happen?"
"After New Year's Leon. The DOD will be contacting the marine station in New Jersey and the Seals to have them ready for the operation. They have been on high alert for the better of a week until this storm hit the region. By the way what was the main reason Special Agent Gibbs had declined?"
"Actually first it was his primary care physician Doctor Cyril Taft had stated that his health is not all that cracked up to me that he can suffer with a heart attack at any time if he goes and the other was his love for his family and doesn't want to leave them alone for the rest of their lives."
"Leon thank you for being honest with me with why Special Agent Gibbs is not able to go on the operation. If he had gotten the green light from his doctor. He will no doubt will be able to go on the trip. Do you agree?"
James Elroy had asked with the difficult question...
"I do agree with you. But If I know Gibbs and his ways. I have a feeling he's going to try and change Taft's mind with needing to go as with his wife. It's in his blood James that he needs to kill the bastard Hernandez after what he had done a number of times to the man. And in each case his mental barriers keeps on breaking down."
"Well! He has until after New Year's to make up his mind with the decision with going. I for one wants him on the team with the most experience." Elroy had said with needing to end the call. "Leon I leave you now with calling the DOD at home since most of everyone is home with the snow."
